      Peace

I can find four times of salat (can't post the verses right now, sorry)

the two ends of the day
in the middle of the day
      in the night

and can't find an "asr" either. I thought that maybe there is today an "asr" prayer because it says "And commit the prayers, especially the one in the middle", so there has to be one in the middle since four doesn't have a middle. So maybe for that they invented a new one which is in the middle... hmm

I'll post the Verses tomorrow, God willing.

      Regards

        Peace be upon you Bilal,

So you are saying that dawn and dusk salaat are just saying its time to get up and go to sleep?

They used to sleep but little of the night,

show that it's important for us to sleep at night whearas seems to show the opposite. Don't you see a contradiction?

Yes, but its resolved in the fact that nightime is a cover for sleep, meaning we should do so during that time, but there are also other spiritual things to be done.

          Peace wardita,

the middle is the wusta - traditionalist claim it to be their asr

Here we go. Don't know if it still matters... but anyway, here are the four times of prayer, I found

            .....

            (15 minutes later...)

lol lol ok, ok, while looking the verses up I found out that there are two ayas I always understood them wrong actually. So I agree with you guys that there are three times of Salat

            011.114
YUSUFALI And establish regular prayers at the two ends of the day and at the approaches of the night For those things, that are good remove those that are evil Be that the word of remembrance to those who remember (their Lord)
PICKTHAL Establish worship at the two ends of the day and in some watches of the night. Lo! good deeds annul ill-deeds. This is reminder for the mindful.
SHAKIR And keep up prayer in the two parts of the day and in the first hours of the night; surely good deeds take away evil deeds this is a reminder to the mindful.

            017.078
YUSUFALI Establish regular prayers - at the sun's decline till the darkness of the night, and the morning prayer and reading for the prayer and reading in the morning carry their testimony.
PICKTHAL Establish worship at the going down of the sun until the dark of night, and (the recital of) the Qur'an at dawn. Lo! (the recital of) the Qur'an at dawn is ever witnessed.
SHAKIR Keep up prayer from the declining of the sun till the darkness of the night and the morning recitation; surely the morning recitation is witnessed.

I just try to understand your point of view of salat because your concept of programming with the time is not clear for me.
