Sugarbeing a controversial multiple meaning scripture that leads to so much problems in it's interpretation is NOT COOL.

Al-quraan has a clear-cut method for its reader to acquire the right meaning. Controversy comes when we abandon this method in favour of methods we create ourselves. Wrongful interpretations always create contradictions.

I quoted from the Quran to justify my hostility towards the Arabs

No, you quoted Aidid's interpretation of an ayat. An interpretation he's unable to defend. I've personally forwarded this to him when I was part of the editorial team for the first edition of Arab Conspiracies.

come off it! That is the best translation i have ever seen of that verse

He even explained why he translated it like that in his book.

Then can YOU explain why, when al-quraan speaks of its language and the people who first recieves it, it uses a whole other word (Aarab instead of al-a'raabu). Can you explain why the 'al' is in 'al-a'raabu' when 'al' in Arabic cannot refer to a proper name? We need you to explain because Aidid cannot.

Layth I can whine all i like >D

Not only are you accusing me of hypocrisy you are also accusing me of lying about god and telling porkies on the forum. You may be the Admin but that does not give you the right to act like a knobjockey!

`But then here you are killing each other and driving out a group of you from their homes; you act towards them with evil and animosity. And if they come to you as prisoners, you ransom them while it was forbidden for you to drive them out! Do you believe in some of the Scripture and disbelieve in some? The punishment for those amongst you who do so is humiliation in this worldly life, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be returned to the most severe retribution. God is not unaware of what you all do. (285)

I would NEVER do anything like that so why quote that o o o o o

imo that sounds more like you ignore

Someone who lies about God and twsists His words can very easily lie about his identity.

      I?m a girl.

but then again you would probably accuse me of lying again!.

Arnold i am still waiting for your answer...

      peace,
      sugar

Sugar telling porkies on the forum

Translation telling lies on the forum. Porkies are short for 'pork pies' (lies - the rhyming slang).

                Sugar kay you win...

While it's not about 'winning', I'm very glad you see the point. I consider Aidid to be an excellent student of al-quraan and it was he who pushed the envelop some years ago. However, this racist interpretations of his really diminished his credibility.

but the Quran is still not cool it never has been and never will be.

Depends on your definition of cool. Since there's no furqaan about 'coolness', there's no basis for argument.

What did bother me was the way you allowed your negative feelings towards arab speaking people to quote Aidid who altered God`s words to say what God never said.

                    i disagree....

                    On that last paragraph on the introduction of the book he says;
"Most importantly I do not wish to cause offence to any reader and i would be grateful if this aspect of my delivery were regarded as deriving purely from the strength of my conviction"

                      sugar

                      kidding girl...

My view is that there are several layers of fighting.

                      1. Self-defense. This psychical fighting and only is allowed as selfdefense, but also as take out enemies of freedom before they outtake you, but only when you're a 100% sure they're threat.

2.fighting for the message of the Quran to be spread and accepted. So this includes an indeep study of the message, and how it is connected with todays life. And then talk with people about the message. So to make the message avaible as well approachable. So it is also a fight for knowledge and truth before you can spread the message, first step 1 before you can move on to step 2 (spreading the message)

3.fighting against yourself. The fight against parts of your Self that holds you back and keep you in stagnation. So you have to learn and understand yourself, and learn how to use your talents and abbilities to the best. Fight for your growth.

                      Peace

It is a good book and if you knew Aidid, you'd know he's the kind of guy who deserves to be the one who discovered (perhaps 'rediscovered&#039 this. The kind of guy who doesn't give a toss what anyone thinks of his beliefs, no awe for anyone except God.

                          disagree....

What I meant was, he lost a lot of potential support due to his racist views. I'm sure he is as sincere as he claims.

Opposing God and His messenger is simply what it says..opposition... (that means rejecting and/or standing in the way and/or obstructing of the teachings conveyed by God).

Such people will be dealt with in the Hereafter and they are not to be befriended by those who believe in God.

I have heard so much from these so called peaceful muslims that it become a routine to listen God laws are cruel and outdated Homosexuality is cool. Qur'an is corrupted document. They are very dangerous people must be dealt strongly.

                                        peace KGB,

I think you have misunderstood "their" position. People are not arguing that God is cruel and outdated, but the Quran cannot be from God because some things in it do not stand true today. It's pretty simple.
We cannot have a good discussion if we don't make an effort to understand other's views (and that goes for both sides.)

I clearly understand their motives and all their BS and you belong to the same group. Why don't you go and post a reply to CavemanDoctor if you are so intelligent to claim that Qur'an is not the words of Allah (SWT).
