The Stages of Creation & Evolution in the Quran
-
I suggest to read my article....
In 11106-108 it is clearly mentioned that a new Universe will be created for us in the Next Life. This concides with Quantum Physics who say the same thing.
Also it is not Adam and 'eve', the name 'eve' does not occur in the Quran. The story relates to Adam and his spouse, thus metaphorically referring to Man and Woman in general. They threw themselves out of the State of Bliss and Progress by dividing mankind into factions, which is represented by the tree.
-
Also, humans did not evolve from any other species. It clearly says in the Holy Quran The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him "Be". And he was. (359)
The word Adam in this verse is in the present tense, thus referring to Mankind in general. Also the word 'Kun' refers to an act of certainty, it does not refer to an instant moment or that it happens against the Laws of Nature. Also all humans are created from 'Dust'.
-
11108 The happy ones on that Day will enter the Garden and live there as long as the New Universe endures, that is time beyond count; until your Lord opens for them the way to further evolution, a gift unfailing.
Salaam,
I mostly use QXP, see www.ourbeacon.com, this is a Tasreef Translation. We use other verses to explain each other. The Quran calls it Tasreef-al-Ayat, the repitition of verses. So we explain the Arabic definitions of words used, and also the explanation as given in the other verses.

if they weresent to earth, that would imply that he wasn't here before. so where was he?
or canthe translation of those verses be interpreted differently?
or translated differently?and if those verses are indeed mistranslated, who did that? didn't the translator have knowledge of Arabic language?
There is more to it than knowing the language. and there is more to the story of Adam than a verse here and a verse there. One needs to study all of them together, and for certain keywords, study all other verses that use those keywords....
This is the story of the origin of man, part of the story of the origin of the Universe, and I do believe it is possible for us to understand it. The Quran can be used for hints, but the study of the earth itself and the life forms dwelling on it should suffice as well
2920 Say "Roam the Earth and observe how the creation was initiated. Thus God will establish the final creation. God is capable of all things."

They threw themselves out of the State of Bliss and Progress by dividing mankind into factions, which is represented by the tree.
dividing mankind? were there more humans besides adam and his spouse?
also, what is meant by
"29. And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My Energy, bow before him in homage;"
30. The angels (malikah) bowed in homage in a body .
31. Except Iblis. He refused to bow with the adorers."i take it bow is not physicaly. in what way were they to bow?
and when God said "when I have fashioned him" how long did that take? because from your first post here, the fashoning took quite a long time. or is it meant when God finnished fashoning him and adam looked like, well, modern human, like we do today?

Please read my article on Jinn that also covers the story of Adam, it answers your above questions

peace Arnold,
I understand. Just one thing...There are a lot more forces in the Universe then just matter, the Quantum Field also decides on this. The internet is a poor resource for science Phoenix.
I didn't use the internet this time! In fact, I've kind of lost my interest in science. I used to know a lot of stuff, but now I'm not too excited about new scientific discoveries and theories and stuff. Most of what I know about science comes from magazines like Discover and Popular Science.
I read about the universe not contracting in TIME. I can't tell you how accurate that is, but I'll try to find you a link to a credible source. -
No, if you read carefully, the word doesn't appear in the Quran. The Quran talks about Adam and his spouse. And thus is a metaphor for Man and Woman in total. Adam were the first Homo Sapiens, Modern man and woman.
The earlier species of man-apes from which modern man originated from do not fall under the term Adam, Intelligent man.
so are you saying that qur'an supports the fact that adam came from a different species? apes or whatever?
and if so, are we humans from today going to develope in different creatures in the next million years?
-
As far as my studies has showed me, yes definitely. The Quran says we developed out of lower species
7114 Knowing that He has created you in successive stages.
7117 And Allah has caused you to grow as a growth from the earth/as a (geneological) tree.
And the Quran refers to further development, if this means us in this life or in the Next is what we need to find out ourselves....
2920 Say, Travel in the earth and find out how He originated creation. And how afterward, Allah brings forth entirely new forms. Verily, Allah is the Designer of all things.

"7189 (The Message encompasses life in its totality.) Recall that Allah created life from a single life cell, then made male and female cells, and then shaped you into human beings, males and females..... .?
How did you arrive to this translation of the verse 7189?
Thanks

Nafs has many meanings including 'Living Entity', to translate it with 'Cell' is logical and coincides with Science.

Yes I realize that. However, I can't see how the rest of the verse can be translated as " then made male and female cells, and then shaped you into human beings, males and females..... .
There are no mentions of male or female or shaping humans. Also, while I am having a hard time fully understanding the verse in Arabic, the verse says that the the nafs and its partner asked god to be given something good so that they become thankful. I can't see how this can be applicable to cells.

i think we'll at least develope into beings who use more then 10% of their brains.
otherwise what's the point of our brain if we don't use all of it?
Btw, the 'we only use 10% of our brain' thing is a myth.
Brainscan studies show that every part of our brain has some kind of function... The brain is an expensive organ as it demands 20% of our energy intake, it would be a horrible waste if only 10% of it is working!

It is funny, the 10% use of the brain joke was made by Einstein during an interview. He made it as a joke, as the interviewer asked him why he was smart and if he was different from other people. He remarked, 'people only use 10% of their brain' to mean that he isn't special, all people have the same possibility if they want too.
Later on, this joke became an urban fact

My teacher told me that we use less then 5% of our brains?.

Peace all,
I think, in general, we use very little of our brain capacity because in our daily routines, there is very little brain function required. And we become immersed in our routines, thus leaving the larger capacity untapped. This can be seen quite clearly in the special abilities of some autistic people.
