Can the process of evolution be accelerated?
-
Peace all,
I was thinking whether GOD has put a way somwhere in nature which we someday by His Will can find to speed up the process of evolution. Example would be where Jesus turned the shaped bird into a living bird, or abarahm cutting brd into four pieces and it recombined. Maybe the evolutinary process can be accelerated through advanced techniques? Your opinins plz. GOD Bless! -
PEace Bro
why don't we still evolve?

Peace
I'm evolving everyday, I hope. Otherwise I'm stagnant OR devolving. My personal opinion of the matter.
Johnny, I'm not sure I get your inquery. It sounds like you mean that humans have devolved because what Jesus and Abraham did according to you is not accessible to the wider range of humanity.

JK- People like to use the term "devolve" and so did i. However evolution is used for going in both directions, thus something can evolve from a to b and b to a.

JK- What i mean is speeding up the process of evolution eg. making an animal/plant mature in 2 mins from a cell as compared to the many months or yrs it would otherwise take. I know it would consume a lot of energy in a short time, thus huge power is required but it may just be possible to find a wy. GOD Bless!

Hmm, I don't think those miracles should be called evolution, after all evolution is a process that happens to generations of organisms, not individuals.

peace all
i always thought about this...evolution of human bodies, all the benefits of it,plus better health/body better mind.
to mix races,we(humans) will look all different, there would be more "races" resulting no race...because blacks with blacks whites with whites makes it all boring and slow motion.
i dont know much about the studies of genes, but we would become stronger in inheriting strenghts from other races, like balancing it out a little of this and a little of that.have anyone seen mixed races people, they dont have an specific race, this could also solve the racism, because this exists thanks to isolation of a group from other groups just because they are not like them in color of skin.
i think that would take humanity into another level of physique.peace

There is no pure gene pool anymore. Everyone has some kind of mix in them.
Honestly, im not all about us being from apes. i think that's a white-washed form of human history in order to condone white people's domination over other races. it is survival of the fittest and they're just better because of evolution while the rest of us are still struggling. that's why you get comments like "we're still evolving. look at technology." that statement is a logical flow from believing we're evolving and caucasions just evolved better.
no we're not apes. i believe there is natural selection - but within species. One animal cannot transform into another. That's why we'll never find the missing link.

Maybe the evolutinary process can be accelerated through advanced techniques? Your opinins plz. GOD Bless! The fact is there is no evolution. The genomic DNA of human for example would take 20 yellowpages size to be written. Any alternation here would not be beneficial as the design is already perfect. There is no evidence for evolution because there is no scientific evidence to support a phenotypic effect on the genotype of any lifeform.

Peace bro "bmbmm",

JK- I used to think like this before. But remember that GOD already prgrammed everythng from the beginning. Infact the parts to form a human later on were already present in all those apelike creatures which came beforehand. They only had to combine in a certain manner and then eventually punctual equillibrium and a new creature comes up. Fact is that there are striking microbilogical patterns which can clearly be traced back to various apes in the world showing that humans have an evolutionary connection from them in the past. The only thing is this process is controlled by GOD and not some random thing as it may appear to some on the surface. The whole enivronment plus the coming together of various genes is all controlled by GOD. GOD Bless!

Peace sister "boost",

JK- Ok so how did humans come about? Just from the mud? Were there cells developing in the mud&water and then in some time a fully grown human emerged? Did an embryo develop in the ground of the ocean and then the first two babies swam to the top and came on land? You see all this doesnt make sense. Life started with single cell ORGANISMS. Think of apes/apelike cretaures as a complex organism and you will have no problem accepting evolution. Also your forgetting about speciation. You claiming "evolution only occurs within species" is wrong. Eg a wolf and a dog are two seprate species, yet they are obviosly related and had a common ancestor. There are more smart creationists who acknoledge this fact but claim that there are different kinds of animals like a dog and a cat are two seperate kinds of animals and hence these two cannot have common ancestory at all. The problem with this argument is that where do you draw the line etween a fundamentally different kinna animal/living creature. Microbiologically speaking there is none. All organisms are related in one way or another and they show a pattern of common ancestry which is indeed a wonderful thing if seen correctly. All living beings come from ONE package which is gradually unfolding. Also note that whales evolved from cows or cowlike creatures whilst dolphins evolved from goat or goatlike creatures. Go check out wikipedia on these creatures and youll see the evolutionary relationships.
As for you saying that this theory has been misused by white caucasians, well there are black sheep in every community. NONE, i repeat none of the evolutionary bilogists will ever tell you that blacks are inferior to whites by any means. They have fully evolved and are by definition fully human. Regarding the missing links we do find many transitional fossils also. We dont find a continuum of these because of "punctual equillibrium". This means that while various changes in the DNA by natural selection(all controlled by GOD from the beginning of big bang) accumulate, suddenly significant chnages in the next new borns maybe seen. This is inevitable with time. There is no biological barrier for any creatures or organisms even today. Suddenly a trnaitional form may appear after enough changes have accumulated. We also have fossils of fish with legs and there are dozens of them. I guess bro "andya primanda" can demonstrate some of them to you. The reason why we dont find many of those is because a transitional form only remains for a short period of time since the environment doesnt support it. They turned on to reptiles which because they were adjustable remained till today. Think of it as a cell which has to commit suicide in order for the organism to develop. Did you know that we humans have spaces btw our fingers because the cells btw them committed suicide? So certain organisms are there only temporarily, this is a part of the natural system. GOD Bless! -
Peace bro "andya",
Hmm, I don't think those miracles should be called evolution, after all evolution is a process that happens to generations of organisms, not individuals.
JK- Not necessarily generations. Even the microbioligcal processes going on in our bodies and those of various species throughout the world can be termed as evolution. The only differeence is the scale. You probably meant that the individual doesnt evolve but the next offsprig would have slight changes. While that is true for the major part and all things change continuosly with time according to a preprogrammed plan we may even mange to allow major mutations in developed creatures. Again the factors are scale and time of existence. Now if one could speed up the process things could change faster and we may then even be able to observe MACRO evolution in the lab like a land mammal to sea mammal perhaps. Woudlnt that be fantastic? GOD Bless!

If there is evolution why has it stopped? Why aren't we evolving into another species? And if we are please explain.

Salam.
Even, if the proces of evolution could be accelerated, why would anyone want to interfere? Because we all know as soon as the human being gets "involved" in the nature, the nature dies or gets hurt.
Just live your life by The Quran and you'll achieve The Eagerly Awaited Paradise.

JK- Thats because at the moment we are prefectly adopted to our surroundings just like the many apes in the world which are also not evolving on the MACRO level. On the micro level everything including us are evolving with little changes in our pigments, etc. Evolution can even be shown during lifetime. If you are a hard worker and use your hands alot theyll become rough and more rigorous. If you dont theyll become soft and smooth. GOD Bless!

JK- I agree with you in regards to manipulation of the nature on the outside world, genetical mutated food and human gene manipulation other than corrective measures in case of disease. However taking samples from various animals on the globe and doing research on them in the lab is something different and again all processes related to this will be in accordance with GOD's Law. So i would only praise GOD if i see a land mammal evolve into a marine one within a relatively short time frame. GOD Bless!

That's a pretty loose definition of evolution you got going there...
One other question Are we really perfect? are all animals on earth so perfect that they don't need anymore evolving? Last time i checked we're still being killed off by all kinds of infections, diseases, famine etc etc. doesn't seem too perfect to me. in fact, there's alot of room for improvement. It's hard to believe that with all the problems that plague homo sapiens they wouldn't just evolve as other primates supposedly did before... unless its all hoax and there is no evolving into another totally different animal

Peace sister "BOOST",

JK- No why loose? This is the first step. these changes when they accumulate in the gene pool over time can create a marvellous new creature. Whther the humans would evolve again or not, i dont know.

JK- No we are not perfect since nothing here is and i believe this world aint meant to be perfrect either. But this has nothing to do with our or other creatures being adopted to their environment on the macro level. Our bodies continuously build resistance against viruses and bacteria at different paces and on different levels. Thereffore some ppl are more prone to catch a certain disease than others. As far as evolution is concerned it aint no hoax. There is solid evidence coming from at least NINE independent lines of inquiry. Here is a detailed article of whale evolution from land dwelling animals/mammals
http//www.talkorigins.org/features/whales
Heres 29+ evidences for macro evolution
http//www.talkorigins.org/faqs/comdesc/
http//www.talkorigins.org/faqs/modern-synthesis.html (The modern thesis varies a bit from Darwin's gradual evolution which would require an almost "infinite" no of fossils. Punctual equillibrium which i strongly agree with clarifies this)

No, we're not perfect. Evolution is a natural process, therefore if the results are not perfect, then it's to be expected. Besides, we're still evolving you know. During our history, humans have evolved immunity to some diseases; it's just that you won't be seeing much physical change that way. But who knows, evolution's natural pace is slow, maybe if humans survive another million years we might see a change.
