Can the process of evolution be accelerated?

Peace sister "BOOST",
Watch this video and focus on what DR. RAINBOW is saying, especially that in the beginning. It may change your worldview entirely

Bro Andya, so if there are no physical changes how do we know that evolution took place to begin with? Immunity to infections or disease i would call natural selection. Evolution would be an organism that changed so much that it is a new species completely. What say you?

JK- Your welcome.

JK- If i may answer that. You see its all part of natural selection whther micro evolution as in the case you mentioned above or macro evolution. Natural selection and "random" mutations play a role in there. I put the word "random" in brackets because apparently the movements/variations in the DNA cannot yet be understood as to why it varies in all that directions. However in this way things do tend to adjust themselves more or less marvellously to the environment improving over the ages. However the natural environemt for natural selction also has to evolve and thus there has to be an interaction, making the whole system purpposeful and not random anymore. The constants controlling the universe is a marvellous example which have been set with infinitesimal accuracy, otherwise not only wouldnt there be life as we know BUT THERE WLDVE BEEN NOTHING AT ALL, ZILCH, NADA! Now to your question about speciation. Ofcourse it happens. Take a wolf, koyote and a dog for example. They are separate species which definitely eolved from each other. We can see evolution while breeding a certain animal. A chiwuawa or a german shepherd are examples of such. Those were bred out of other dogs/wolves which were different on the macro level. GOD Bless!

Inference of changes from the fossil record... or observation that some living things, say domestic animals, do undergo visible changes after a few hundred/thousand years so that they become new breeds.
If you define evolution as emergence of new species (speciation) then there are observed instances of speciation, I can show you if you want to.

Hi,
Forget about fossil (stone) record. Just show us a gene alteration (mutation) due to an enviromental challenge, which passed on to the second generation that was beneficial.
If you can't do this than there is no point talking about evolution as once and for all this theory has failed.
Based on the fact that there is no 'scientific' evidence to support it. -
Peace bro "bmbmm",
JK- I used to think like this before. But remember that GOD already programmed everything from the beginning. Infact the parts to form a human later on were already present in all those apelike creatures which came beforehand. They only had to combine in a certain manner and then eventually punctual equilibrium and a new creature comes up. Fact is that there are striking microbiological patterns which can clearly be traced back to various apes in the world showing that humans have an evolutionary connection from them in the past. The only thing is this process is controlled by GOD and not some random thing as it may appear to some on the surface. The whole enivronment plus the coming together of various genes is all controlled by GOD. GOD Bless!
Hi Jonny,
This is true, I do think about this as well, but as scientists we will wait for some scientific findings that can support this. So far there is not evidence for evolution. If there is, I mean in molecular-genetic level, i am open to study it to see how good it is.
Allah created and furthermore given a Nature to everything. This nature forexample, say of an ape and man. The nature is ape or man. The characteristic of the nature given to bee is described in the Quran and that is it forever! Its fixed. i would challenge anybody to say the nature of the bee has changed or will change through evolution. Hence, nature of man is man's nature and nature of an ape is ape's nature.

Peace sister "boost",
JK- Ok so how did humans come about? Just from the mud? Were there cells developing in the mud&water and then in some time a fully grown human emerged? Did an embryo develop in the ground of the ocean and then the first two babies swam to the top and came on land? You see all this doesnt make sense. Life started with single cell ORGANISMS. Think of apes/apelike cretaures as a complex organism and you will have no problem accepting evolution. Also your forgetting about speciation. You claiming "evolution only occurs within species" is wrong. Eg a wolf and a dog are two seprate species, yet they are obviosly related and had a common ancestor. There are more smart creationists who acknoledge this fact but claim that there are different kinds of animals like a dog and a cat are two seperate kinds of animals and hence these two cannot have common ancestory at all. The problem with this argument is that where do you draw the line etween a fundamentally different kinna animal/living creature. Microbiologically speaking there is none. All organisms are related in one way or another and they show a pattern of common ancestry which is indeed a wonderful thing if seen correctly. All living beings come from ONE package which is gradually unfolding. Also note that whales evolved from cows or cowlike creatures whilst dolphins evolved from goat or goatlike creatures. Go check out wikipedia on these creatures and youll see the evolutionary relationships.
As for you saying that this theory has been misused by white caucasians, well there are black sheep in every community. NONE, i repeat none of the evolutionary bilogists will ever tell you that blacks are inferior to whites by any means. They have fully evolved and are by definition fully human. Regarding the missing links we do find many transitional fossils also. We dont find a continuum of these because of "punctual equillibrium". This means that while various changes in the DNA by natural selection(all controlled by GOD from the beginning of big bang) accumulate, suddenly significant chnages in the next new borns maybe seen. This is inevitable with time. There is no biological barrier for any creatures or organisms even today. Suddenly a trnaitional form may appear after enough changes have accumulated. We also have fossils of fish with legs and there are dozens of them. I guess bro "andya primanda" can demonstrate some of them to you. The reason why we dont find many of those is because a transitional form only remains for a short period of time since the environment doesnt support it. They turned on to reptiles which because they were adjustable remained till today. Think of it as a cell which has to commit suicide in order for the organism to develop. Did you know that we humans have spaces btw our fingers because the cells btw them committed suicide? So certain organisms are there only temporarily, this is a part of the natural system. GOD Bless!Have you seen the recent New Scientist magazine cover. Its about evolution going backwards. This people are so confused. The cartoon depicts a man 'modern man' with a tail! This interesting thing is the racism that I can see.
The modern man is a white-blond male! What's in the cartoonist mind is whiteman is the most advanced evolved species in the process of evolution! Which to me is bullshit! As there is no evolution at all. What it suggest is a black is more monkey than a white man. Hence black man is inferior. I see the opposite, I see black man is superior and the white man is scared! Just kidding but something to think about.Peace

Peace Brother Johnny
That's a pretty loose definition of evolution you got going there...
One other question Are we really perfect? are all animals on earth so perfect that they don't need anymore evolving? Last time i checked we're still being killed off by all kinds of infections, diseases, famine etc etc. doesn't seem too perfect to me. in fact, there's alot of room for improvement. It's hard to believe that with all the problems that plague homo sapiens they wouldn't just evolve as other primates supposedly did before... unless its all hoax and there is no evolving into another totally different animal
There is no evolution out there. If there is then we need evidence. Molecular Genetic evidence. Everything is perfect there. A lion killing something is perfect as thats how the design is. Regarding the distruction, man is to be blamed, due to the fact that we have a choice, and for some a satanic state of mind. This has nothing to do with evolution. Evolution is indeed a hoax.
-
No, we're not perfect. Evolution is a natural process, therefore if the results are not perfect, then it's to be expected. Besides, we're still evolving you know. During our history, humans have evolved immunity to some diseases; it's just that you won't be seeing much physical change that way. But who knows, evolution's natural pace is slow, maybe if humans survive another million years we might see a change.
Oh common where are we evolving and how did the immune system evolved to fight diseases???
Simply, in the immune system, some cells, have sets of hypervariable genes (created not evolved) that are doing the job.peace

Peace bro "bmbmm",
Please read these articles completely, meaning all things related as well

Its exciting to know that certain genetic traits in humans have been shutoff and are there merely as remnants to show common ancestry btw apes and humans and even creatures before tht(PSEUDOGENES). Its all one package gradually unfolding, beginning fom the sea.

Please also read my other articles and links posted on evolution like that of the whale. The whale contains certain vestigial organs which are clearly the remnant of land dwelling mammals. There is no use for these for the whale and they show clearly a pattern of evolutionary ancestry from land dwelling mammals. GOD Bless! -
Peace,
I wrote...if one could speed up the process things could change faster and we may then even be able to observe MACRO evolution in the lab like a land mammal to sea mammal perhaps...
JK- Here ive to make a correction to this statement of mine. I tend not to make ny changes to the genome artificially since such as mentioned by someone in a previous post, can cause disater. And even the Quran says tht making changes to GOD's creation is satanic. So there has to be a natural method, otherwise i dont agree with this. Sorry for the mistake. It happens when u get over excited. GOD Bless!

These do not show any scientific evidence, but just suggest that there are similarities. Homologies does not reflection or show support to evolution. There are similarities becaus there is one creator. A 486 has similarity with a pentium but it does not mean they evolved. The only way to show/demonstrate the possibility of evolution is to, as I demended in my previous responses, show in the lab, for the sake of time a point mutation a SNP, that can have a positive impact in an organism, and which can be passed to the next generation.
Peace

Peace bro "bmbmm",
Bro so much of science is inference. We cannot observe everything in the lab. Can we observe the big bang in the lab? No, we cannot but we can surely infer it from other evidence gained through observations in the cosmos. By the same token creationists have rejected the big bang also which is simply hilarious. The molecular biological evidence is enough to infer evolution took place. Here it is again
http//www.talkorigins.org/faqs/comdesc/section4.html
Why would we have pseudgenes in our DNA which are also present in apes but show no more function? If we were created distinctly these do not make any sense at all. This is the strongest evidence for diversification with common descent in my opinion. Moreover all the other related stuff supports this view independently. GOD Bless! -
Hi, I'm new to this forum. This is an interesting discussion and a topic I am greatly interested in.
Hi Jonny thanks for the articles.
These do not show any scientific evidence, but just suggest that there are similarities. Homologies does not reflection or show support to evolution.
In light of the degeneracy of the genetic code, similarities in gene sequences can only be rationally explained by common descent. DNA paternity testing simply wouldn't work otherwise.
There are similarities becaus there is one creator. A 486 has similarity with a pentium but it does not mean they evolved.
This is a false analogy. A 486 or pentium doesn't reproduce, they don't have a basis of inheritance.
The only way to show/demonstrate the possibility of evolution is to, as I demended in my previous responses, show in the lab, for the sake of time a point mutation a SNP, that can have a positive impact in an organism, and which can be passed to the next generation.
Whats wrong with the examples listed here - http//www.talkorigins.org/indexcc/CB/CB101.html
You're conflating two different things here anyway. The validity of Common descent doesn't depend on the validity of the proposed mechanisms of evolutionary change. Gould explained it well
"Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Common decent by no means suggest or support evolution. If you want to proof evolution you just need one molecular-biological evidence. I challenge anyone to give one.
Psudogenes are found in apes and man and so are other genes that show 90-100% sequence homologies between the two species.

JK- Common decent with modifications is what evolution is all about bro. What are you saying?

JK- Yes and hence we share a common ancestor. That is evolution. What do you think evoltuion in the biological sense means? GOD Bless!

Hi Bro,
If this is evolution based on a common ancestor then there is no evolution as there is no scientific evidence that we all arrived from one ancestor.

JK- Bro ive provided you with links and specific extractions from those shwoing ample evidence from paleantology, vesrigial(REDUCED functional) structures), microbiological(esp. pseudogenes), homology, etc and they all INDEPENDENTLY agree i.e. we all arrived froma common ancestor. Now it's up to you whether you accept the evidence or not. GOD Bless!

Of course it does. Common descent is the basis of evolution. It explains to us that all life is related and ultimately descended from a common ancestor. Whats wrong with the link I presented to you by the way.

Please explain to me why apes and humans are so genetically similar in light of the degeneracy of the genetic code.
