OPF, jinn are made of fire, and ALL living things are made of water. To me, that says that "jinn" is not referring to a living thing.

No, not necessarily. Define "living thing". For instance, is God "alive"?

          Is God "made of water"?

Trick question. The verse applies to his creation only.

Now, what makes you think something cannot be made from water if it originates from fire? Water is composed of hydrogen, and oxygen - volatile gases, which create a smokeless fire.

          Food for thought...

JK- Yes indeed. So wht do you say jinn are? AAre they seprate beings whose body function based on continuous hydrogen and oxygen fusion? If so why cldnt we do u think we cldnt detect them as yet? Or have they left the earth because humans became intolerable of them and went to another planet? GOD Bless!

How do you know you sensed Jinn? How do you know you're not just getting the heebie jeebies from watching horror flicks? Ninety percent of the news is about violent crime and scares the daylights out of people whether they realize it or not. Isn't it possible your sixth sense is out of whack due to being over stimulated by the media all around you?

Lord knows... Literally, hehe. I have no idea how that would work. As for "not detecting", there are probably many "waves" or other things we haven't detected. How many people heard of electric currents a thousand years ago...

The simple fact that people completely isolated from each other can see "ghosts" boggles my mind. Wherever you go on Earth, there is always something about the paranormal. Maybe it's just our own brains seeing illusions, but it's uncanny.

Ok, from what I've read (very little) Jinn means something like demons or some sort of spiritual being. What I'm wondering is, I think I might have a sort of 6th sense. Its not mind reading or x-ray, but as if I can sense the presence of spiritual beings. Though its unfocused, the sense is like when you know someone is there but none of you other senses tell you that. Only your mind can see it. Anyone have any thoughts/ideas/anthing that could help me out a little?

I sense that you are imagining something, but I can't sense exactly what. Hmmmm.....let me do so more sensing. ;D

                      Peace all,
As to how to sense "Jinn" we need to first test whether they show any signs of intelligence and/or consciousness should we have such an experience. Furthermore this must be verified independently. If "jinn" turn out to be plasma beings then we could delve further into (hydro)-plasma evolution and how it evolved into conscious beings. GOD Bless!

I wonder if there is any way for me to strengthen this power I might have. Is there any sort of specific phrase or word I can google?

Also, is it possible to create scientific words through Arabic like Latin? Like Philosophy, 'Philo' means 'love of' and 'sophy' means 'wisdom,' (or vice versa) so a philosopher is a person who loves wisdom and knowledge in the Latin term. I'm wondering if there is a scientific term for 'sight' and 'Jinn' creating a term that means "perseption/sight/sense of Jinn"

                        Peace LP,

I believe the word 'jinn' is derrived from 'jainism', an ancient religion which still exists.

Read more about on Wikipedia if you wish.

Funny, but I agree. I myself believed that I could talk to spirits of deceased people and used to perform 'seances' by using tarotcards, selfmade Ouija-bord and I can't find the right English word for it... but I also used this...

                          http//www.elohim-centre.org/afbeeldingen/617%20pendels5.jpg

I later on discovered that I was just highy sensitive to the energyfield around me and that it had nothing to do with spirits or ghosts or any other (like you call it) 'heebie jeebies'. I don't believe the Almighty would disturb our peace and privacy by letting spirits of deceased people wander around on earth and scare the sh*t out of us. It just doesn't sound fair!! It means that I can't take a relaxing shower buttnaked without thinking to myself 'who's watching me?'... Or even having sex with your spouse would feel uncomfortable if you believe in ghosts. rotfl

Interesting theory. However, Jinn is an arabic word, can the same be said for Jainism?

I wonder if they are mentioned in the bible, and if so what are they translated as

                                Peace,

Jainism is rather a modern word for an ancient nature religion. It does not have the same root-letters as Jinn, as Jinn is J-N-N and Jainism would be J-N-S.

Plus, it has nothing to do with the rootmeaning. J-N-N means something behind a barrier as a child in a womb, a grave, a king in a palace, an insect, snakes on the ground, legends, emotions and so on. Jinn is very simple. The word Nas used for man in its original sense means "Those that have halted in a place", Jinn is used as an opposite for Nas/Ins and thus means the humans that are beyond the perception of those that halted in a place. Referring to foreigners, nomads, people living in jungles, hermits, monks, nuns, the elite, rulers. People that do not hold a common position in society.

Next to this, it also refers to legends, feelings, pre-historic man and so on. It is not a title of a species, but a description of an attribute that can be shared by several things or persons.

you listed a lot of things there, but are you saying that it's not at all possible that jinn could refer to somekind of creation that exists in a world that is hidden to us?
because there are many reports of "ghosts" in haunted houses or elsewhere, now whatever they really are, they are hidden from us, so they could also be called 'jinn', right?

'This is because we are all linked through the Quantum vacuum and pick up information that is stored in the field.'

i would assume that these dead people would just repeat what they were doing and saying when they were alive, but no, they say things as if they were still alive, conscious in this other world.

so how would you explain that people who tap into this other world and see deceased people, they talk to them and these dead people talk back, they say new things, they answer questions as if they were actually here???
