If another prophet would come, would this mean that he will bring another book? And all the talk about Quran being complete and perfect would have been a lie??!!!!

    Messengers, Yes.
There were and will be as long as we live on this earth. In a way we are the messengers of God. Aren;t we preaching his Word?
Any one can be a messenger of God as long as it doesn't claim it. Than it gets very complicated. Thats why Jesus won't come back.

Did Abraham bring a book? I must have missed that one.

I dont think, today we are in need, asking or waiting for them.

A=> Kill the pigs? Strawman. Last one, first one, yes, definitely.
B=> No, people killed off the prophets. They were needed, but they were not asked for or waited for (unless you count the Jews waiting for a psuedo-fictional messiah for some 3000 years)
C=> We are most certainly in need. There are millions of Muslims and very few actually practicing it (not the ritual aspect, I'm thinking of character, the way they act, in effect, not the fact that they bow down 5 times a day - 002177).

What did Abraham, a no-book prophet do?

I can understand your emotional way of thinking, but lets be realistic here.
Those milions of muslims in need of a prophet will not follow anyone claiming prophethood after the "Seal of the Prophets". They together with christians are waiting for Jesus and again they would probably kill in a matter of seconds anyone that would claim that.

The question is what would this prophet bring or explain to us that we already don't know?

most Orthodox Jews believe that the Zohar was given to Abraham.

                Salam.

I believe this verse speaks very clearly Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Messenger of Allah, and the Seal of the Prophets and Allah has full knowledge of all things. (Al-Ahzab 3340)

May The Exalted God AllMighty, The Most Powerful, The Most Merciful, The Most High, The Most Just, The Most Wise helps us all, guides us on the Straight Path, protects us all from the evil and especially from the satan the rejected one and gives us more good health, even more patience and extends our knowledge.

                Peace.

                  What about Jacob? Ishmael? Jonah?

Metaphor? I mean, that would... kill the Shia doctrine if it is literal.

It is literal, all of the Prophet's (sallallahu alaihi wa salaam) sons, Tahir, Qasim, Tayyab, and Abdullah, died in infancy. The idolators, who took pride in having sons, used to ridicule our beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa salaam) that he has no sons. So Allah Taala revealed this verse which says that our beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa salaam) may not be the father of any men among them, but in extenuation he is the Messenger and Last of Prophets.

                      Peace OPF, all,

Did Abraham bring a book? I must have missed that one.

I guess bro OPF did miss that one

8718 This has been revealed in the previous scriptures (suhufi al-oola).
8719 The scriptures (suhuf) of Abraham and Moses.

"Suhuf" clearly refers to books/scriptures from The God because of its usage for Moses also, and usage of "suhufi al-oola" for the previous scriptures

20133 And they said "If only he would bring us a sign from his Lord!" Did not proof come to them from what is in the previous scriptures (suhufi al-oola) ?

As far as prophet Muhammad is concerned, he is indeed the last prophet (nabi) but not necessarily the last messenger (rasool). One proof of that is the usage of the word "rasool" also for the angels of death who obviously post-date Muhammad

661 And He is the Supreme over His servants, and He sends over you guardians. So that when the time of death comes to one of you, Our messengers (rusuluna) terminate his life, and they do not neglect any.

In 3340, we hear Muhammad being "khaatam" of the prophets but not "khaatam" of the messengers because then it would contradict with 661.

3340 Mohammed was not the father of any man among you, but he is the messenger of God and the seal/end (khaatam) of the prophets. And God is fully aware of all things.

                      From Lane's Lexicon

Kh-Ta-Miim = To seal/stamp/imprint/impress, to secure/protect oneself against a thing, produce an impression or effect upon a thing, reach the end of a thing, cover over a thing, turn away/avoid/shun someone or something, to not understand, prevent the heart from believing, feign heedlessness.

I believe this verse speaks very clearly

In my opinion the "stamp" of this office is given in defined parameters if you would take some of this chapter into context.

For example his rights regarding spouses and dependants is given .

There are special circumstances applicable to the nabiyy
-Keeping watch and maintaining stability against the enemies
                        -Authority

He is a guiding beacon bringing good news of blessing from God to Believers, he warns and he witnesses .

                        Establishes God's commands .
-Shows how God deems a thing to be.

They've signed a covenant to be questioned concerning their truth .

They're not to obey the hypocrites and instead follow the Lord who is aware, putting their trust in Him .

                          Peace to all,

I say no also, I believe Mohammad was the final prophet at least in this worldly era, a time may come in the future when we will all be called to account and time as we know it ends, and God could start over with a new creation, as the Quran says, then he may start sending his prophets and messengers again, but for us and our kin, Mohammad is the last,

ps, also,, in New testament Jesus says God will send one more Prophet of truth after him to complete his message,, so that kinda proves only one more after Jesus which would be Mohammad,,,correct me if im wrong,

Prophets and Messengers come with a book!

                              http//www.submission.org/efarsi/arabic/Surat2_files/2_213.gif
(All) people are a single nation; so Allah raised prophets as bearers of good news and as warners, and He revealed with them the Book with truth, that it might judge between people in that in which they differed; and none but the very people who were given it differed about it after clear arguments had come to them, revolting among themselves; so Allah has guided by His will those who believe to the truth about which they differed and Allah guides whom He pleases to the right path.

                              http//www.submission.org/efarsi/arabic/Surat57_files/57_25.gif
Certainly We sent Our apostles with clear arguments, and sent down with them the Book and the balance that men may conduct themselves with equity; and We have made the iron, wherein is great violence and advantages to men, and that Allah may know who helps Him and His apostles in the secret; surely Allah is Strong, Mighty.

Quran is untempered, preserved and complete

My answer is 'yes and no' )

Distinguishing between 'nabi' and 'rasool' - rasool are sent to all peoples and have 'knowledge of the book', whereas 'nabi' bring 'the book'.

Logically, all Nabi are rasool, but not all rasool are nabi. Thus "Mohammad is 'A' messenger of God, and the 'Seal' of the Nabi." shows he is the last Nabi, but one of many and not necessarily the last of the messengers.

Sorry about the lack of references, but years ago I went through quraan and listed every reference regarding 'Nabi' and 'Rasool', and made above conclusion. You can do the same!

Properties of rasool were A & B (forgotten details - one was 'knowledge of the book&#039
                                Properties of Nabi were A & B & C (forgotten details - one was 'bring the book&#039

Fred has A & B - therefore he is a rasool, but cannot be a Nabi because he lacks C
                                Joe has A & B & C - therefore he is a nabi, and also a rasool since he obviously has A & B

Modify Hmmm! ) RasulHamza's quote of 5725 above has just put me in doubt of my original characteristaion of Nabi/Rasul!!! Oh well - back to the drawingboard for a re-assesment. Doesn't alter my opinion about 'rasool to all peoples' meaning including modern times vs 'khatam un-nabi' meaning no more 'nabi's, though )!

So isn't it somethings all people moving to the right direction take up or adopt.

what so special about the people of previous gnerations who did them things and isn't special for any people nowadays?

                                    !

                                    Gods Blessings.

I do not understand what you are trying to say. I do not think there are people doing all these things in other places under the given circumstances.

                                        Peace to all,

Lost Phil, try John Chapter 14 verses 15 and 25, and each of the books of the new testament have the story Jesus told of the next advocate to come after, read up on it and then let me know what you think.
