Are the Quran aloners hurting the refomist cause?

I was in a discussion with some Muslims and they say the abandoning or questioning of hadiths would lead to chaos. They say look at the Quran aloners and how divided and lost they are? They also accuse any hadith skeptics as being a Quran aloner. They say they want to change Islam and bring about a new religion. This is what Dr. Subhi Mansour is accused of. They say he wants to change the Qibla and salaat and Ramadan and so on. Its quite clear he doesn't but many people attach the Quranist movement with Quran aloners. Sunnis regularly use that and Rashad Khalifa to portray any skepticism of hadith as being a cult.

The corrrect methodology is not to reject each and every Hadith.
No doubt Hadith books have a lot of weak and fabricated Hadiths also i.e Stones mixed with Pearls.
Whole stuff should not be thrown or rejected.Rather need is to separate true from false stuff.Denial of obedience of Prophet PBUH is denial of Quran

I think the reformists are hurting the Quran, not the other way round, thank you very much. Much are responsible for tampering
Believers are told not to indulge in hearsay, conjecture, and baseless hadeeth, and they are challenged as to which hadeeth they will believe after God's revelations. Nothing more to be said.
Islam needs no reform, people simply need to pay attention to the Quran and heed the warnings given. I say reformists themselves are twisting the Quran to their Western liberal idealogy, vs the deeply rooted conservatism of the East.
2177 - It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces Towards east or West; but it is righteousness- to believe in Allah and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance, out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer, and practice regular charity; to fulfil the contracts which ye have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and adversity, and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of truth, the Allah-fearing.

According to Quran there are primarily groups;
Muslims
Kafir
Munafiqin are in between (you can say categorically on face value)I know this much
