Is it ok to watch "desperate housewives", etc?

Peace. When we know that such films encourage vice, is it still ok to watch d housewives or similar series? Is it ok to watch or read Harry Potter when we know God condemns witchcraft? Is it ok to listen to music the lyrics and performers of which are immoral?

If it's not in the Quran, use your own judgement. Is it okay and does it go with good character to do those things? How does a fictional book for children relate to magical trickery and deceit? If you see such music as immoral, why are you asking whether it's okay to listen to it? By your own judgement, it isn't.

I have never seen desperate housewives, I have seen may two Harry Potter films because of bein with children. S I'll just talk about the Harry Potter. I don't think watching a film where some (and ridiculous) magic fantasising goes on is the same thing as participating yourself in magic practices. In fact I think it is quite different.
Another thing is that I wouldn't recommend the Harry Potter films not even to my worst enemy not because of the magic, not because of the morals, but because of the stupidity of the whole thing. Apart from snatching wholesale from other films and episodes. Patchwork. Next time I am with children I intend to plead and cry for mercy.

Movies are fiction in general unless told that they are made on true events. Read the text at the end of the movie.
The story, all names and places are fictional, any similarities with real ..... remember?
We know Terminators don't exist. We just like watching Arnold fighting Loken. eat Arnie can eat her for breakfast.

Peace. Good point, but is not fiction contradictory with teachings of the quran? In some way, aren't we told not to attribute lies to God? We all know that things in science fiction movies weren't created by God. Isn't that accepting that there is another god who created Superman or whatever heroes? Isn't fiction a kind of illusion? Maybe Potter is a fiction book/movie but surely the craze that people derive from it cant be good.

If watching desperate housewives leads you start lusting after women (which could lead to other horrible things), then no you probably shouldn't watch it because it will lead to no good. But, if while watching it you realize that it's fictional, and just take it as entertainment, there's nothing wrong with it at all.

And you can always switch the channel if it becomes too immoral or something.We have always the choice to choose the right path and the right channel and/or program. Just keep being openminded in that way you will hopefully feel what is good for you an vice verse.

I thought Rashad said the last 2 verses of Ahzab were wrongly placed. Sunnis even say those verses were not part of the Surah but were two short to be on their own so they were added at the end of Ahzab. Or did Rashad say something else?

Quran is preserved from the Prophet till now.
Whosoever , whether ,Sunni ,shia ,Traditionalist ,Quran aloner or RK says that it is not preserved is a
