Allen is in the mistaken belief that Believing in quran alone AUTOMATICALLY means believing RK is a messenger. This is a logical fallacy. Word of advice Allen do a poll on this forum. Ask the people here who adhere to al quran if they believe RK is a messenger.

You are quiet confused... the site you want to be going to is www.submission.org.

Let me show you why your argument is ridiculous. According to you

    1. RK believed in quran alone

    2. Therefore all people who believe in quran alone believe in RK

Do you think that RK was a cheater and Mushrik ? When it is obvious does not believe in Quran integrity.

To say that about someone one has never met is quite strange. Saying the horrific death of someone to a knife under Al Qaeda is "purification of the Earth" is well out of the character of a muslim and ventures into the realms of disbelief.

Either way, RK has reaped what he has sown.

A ) He's dead. Talking crap about a dead person is back-biting. I hope to God you know what quran says about that

        B) I didn't know RK personally. Thus, I am unable to make a fair judgment on him.

        C) He was an odd character surely...Again he said repeatedly to not follow anything from him other than Quran. Now was he a messenger or not, I don't know or care. I'm not going to be asked about what he did, but what I did.

        D) Why does it matter if he's a cheater or a mushrik? I find Mohammed (the person) made human mistakes just as severe when he stated that something was forbidden when it was lawful (see 661)...Moses commited manslaughter ..Lot gave up his daughters for the sexual desires of his people out of fear for his guests...Jonah ran away from his mission and until he repented...Abraham prayed for his idolatrous father, etc...The list goes on.

I follow any good message any human being puts forth.

          Peace,
in the light of 2430-31, I believe that lowering our gaze doesnt concern just real life. What's the point of lowering our gaze in the street but then we believe we can watch films like "Desperate hw"? Sure, maybe these series wont have any effect on our own behavior, but still we are required to uphold 2430-31.
TV producers rely much on feedback. They eagerly monitor how many people watch their films/series. If they witness that millions prefer '24' to 'CSI', it's likely that they'll make another series in the style of 24. Same thing for Desp. hw. Now suppose all quranaloners were to watch this series, wouldn't that contribute to encouraging the producers to make other similar series yet even more immoral with more nudity? Do we quranaloners support people who produce storylines that defy common morality? Do we preach chastity yet indulge in watching others violate it fictitiously whilst thinking it's their problem and wont have any effect on our character? In that case, wouldn't pornography be harmless?

To those who do not know, Rashad's "numerical miracle" was before he became a quraan aloner nd when he was fully traditionalist. Because of this "miracle" he was hailed and praised by traditionalists, and was welcome by many Muslim Kings and head of states. So, Allen, if you think that the numerical miracle has to be accepted by quraan aloners because it comes from a quraan aloner you are completely wrong. It came from a traditionalist, and is still accepted by traditionalists and books were, and are still written about it by traditionalists. Even some "submitters" use it to confirm hadiths. The "cancellation" of these two verses of Ch 9 is just a confirmation of dubious hadiths concerning this chapter.

I have never watched "desperate house wives", nor has any of my kids*, for no specific reason (I used to regularly watch sex and the city with my kids), so I can't judge it. My question is if it has a negative effect, is it the same on women as on men?

(kids* youngest is a finalist ;D)

It has a more adverse effect on women because it's all about women. All of a sudden, many housewives recognized themselves as desperate too and instead of hanging on to quran, some may consider this series as a solution.

i saw one or two episode of it, it was a little fun, but it cannot be taken seriously. It's like comedy with problemes of life the dudes in the serie stumble into.

                      tarikh

i tend to not watch much TV in general. most of the stuff on there is just... yuck

lots of celebration of anger, greed, sneaky coercion, lust, and back-biting. not a lot of substance.

we are asked to use our judgment and stay away from what is evil and harmful. i'm cool with others watching that stuff if they want to, but i tend to excuse myself for a soda pop.

Well this is how i considere tv series and stuff

If it is based off "real" stories, then you see where the bad stuff could lead.
