Hello All,
I am new to this site. I found it during a google search looking for forums to meet like minded people. God willing I will make some friends here. However, in my short time going through a number of the posts I am not certain how many of you will agree with me.
I am probably one of a very very small select few. I?ve always believed in God. However, my father is racist and very dogmatic about his Judaism. Hence I never really connected with it as I felt if there is a God, why should one religion and its people be better than another as he claims? As soon as I left home to be on my own I became a non practicing Jew.
About 25 years ago while attending college in upstate NY, I was walking with my professor to his car and noticed his vanity license plate. ?ON IT 19? I asked what the meaning of this was and that was my introduction to God?s miracle. It was easy to comprehend. The odds of so many numbers, many of them hundreds or several thousand digits long (numbers which we have no name for) all divisible by 19. This blew my mind. To me, there is 0 chance that this could be coincidence. This book , indeed had to come from God. I believe it is God?s word down to the last letter. This also means that I believe verses 128 and 129 of Sura 9 are false verses. I know a lot of you many not agree with me. This also means I do not invoke Muhammad in my Salat prayers.
Even though I knew of this awesome miracle it was not until 12 years later that I actually came upon some hard times and turned to God and the Quran for support. It was the first time that read it. It moved me to tears. It made so much sense. However, I was not a true a submitter. I did not do my prayers with regularity. I still drank alcohol socially, as well as other behaviors that God would not be pleased with. This went on for 13 years.
Recently I have come across some hardships again and have turned to God and the Quran again for support. I have embraced Islam fully and am conducting myself in the best possible manner with God?s guidance. I am probably the only Submitter in my home state of Maine. I cannot go to any of the Mosque?s here and pray as they are not Submitting Mosques. I?m also probably one of very few people raised Jewish who converted to the true Islam. I feel very blessed by this and thank God for guiding me in the right path.

Wow, a jew. Mashallah. I don't think there are many jews in this forum. I agree code 19 is a fact. But i'm still not sure of the verses being false, so i won't reject them yet. I'm must read take a further research. But with no doubt i know that quran has a numerical system in it. But don't focus to much on the code and stuff. It is the message and knowledge, and gods-system that is most important. You can buy the quran reformist translation at amazon.com. by the way. I bought it a few weeks ago, and it is the best translation i have read until now. I hope you will share your knowledge and thoughts with us at free-minds.

Thank you for your reply David. No...I am not focusing on the numbers. I merely believe it as proof that the Quran is indeed authored by God. The only copy I have been reading is Dr. Khalifa's translation. It has been enough for me. If God wills that I read other translations, I will be open to that. I look forward to having conversations with other Submitters, God willing.

I think my mothers side was Jewish (way way back), but then converted to Christianity...still not too sure on the details since there was alot of false names and changing of names to German names etc.
But I know when I read about the verses about code 19, I definitely felt my faith increase drastically there is a you tube video that goes into the number 19 in creation. It was interesting
It talked about something to the effect the earth, moon, and sun are in alignment only once every 19 years or something like that

You should watch the CNN special entitled "God's warriors" it seems to indicate how the three "major" religions in the world seem to believe alot of the same things. and this even clarifies my position further. Organized religion under the guise of any name can be quite dangerous.

I am just one person and cannot speak for all Jews. In my humble opinion I feel it varies greatly from person to person, community to community, even sect to sect. Like Islam as well as other religions, there are many sects of Judaism, each practicing in a different manner. The Hasidic Jews don't consider anyone else a true Jew, not even practicing Orthodox Jews like some members of my family. It is generally accepted that the Jews and the Arabs have been at odds for centuries. I feel this is Satan doing what Satan does best...dividing people and taking as many of them to tell Hell as he can. Jews are not evil, it's people who have been duped by Satan who are evil no matter what religion they are. I try and treat everyone like a brother or sister, in the best possible manner, no matter what religion they are until someone does me wrong, then I turn away not to deal with them anymore. There is no reason to do otherwise because I am commanded by God to do so.

Yup you're right bro... it's the people who's been duped by satan that's evil... I guess the core of the problem is the people who are making groups of themselves and upholding their ideals. And worst, using God's and the Prophet's/ Messanger's name... may God guide them..

Just because some people see the difference between God's systems and rumors and hearsay, and true peace and unity versus political agendas and man made conjecture doesn't mean everyone else can! It takes years for people to open their eyes and realise that all prophets preached the same thing and that religion is only one, Submission.
At the end of the day, there is only one God to worship, with no human names or angels to be mentioned beside him, and we are all hybrids here and all believe in mixtures of different things. Some stop at a consensus. Others keep searching and searching and searching and seeking more knowledge. At least we are open-minded about things and admit what we believe and dont believe in. We have the right to take things, and reject others. Unlike Sectarians who have a set system of things that they must follow whether they truly believe in it from their hearts or not.

I feel I've been around, on this site now, long enough to wish you a hearty welcome. It especially gladdens my heart when a Jew sees the light, as I view Jews as our special brothers among the people of the book. True they have fought and are fighting Muslims, but they have also been our indispensable allies, especially in Al Andalus which could not have been taken with such minimal amount of bloodshed but for the Jews fighting alongside the Muslims and opening the gates to major cities.
