The way to follow the Qur'an is to judge everything with it. There is nothing unQuranic with Eid. It is in accordance with the Qur'an. Anything good is in accordance with it. So there absolutely nothing wrong with celerating Eid.
Wedding celebrations are not in the Qur'an but it is in accordance with it, so are many other celebrations. Again, anything that is good is in line with the Qur'an
That is why I think it is rather unwise to shun Eid, a season where people are remembering Allah, getting together and being happy.
