This is one of those chapters starting with - Alif. Lam. Mim.

    Alif. Lam. Mim.

This is the Scripture whereof there is no doubt, a guidance unto those who ward off (evil).

What if ALM is actually- ALMsyyh

The Christ is the WORD in which there is no doubt, a guidance unto those.

What if the slave is not Mohammad but Jesus?

And if ye are in doubt concerning that which We reveal unto Our slave (Muhammad), then produce a surah of the like thereof, and call your witness beside Allah if ye are truthful.

um... this is a severe and startling case in eisigesis, pvb. the Quran is not about Jesus. the Quran does not contain "hidden messages" about Jesus. the Quran states, simply, that Jesus was a messenger, a human being, who called his followers to worship God, and be compassionate.

we do not worship the Messiah, God forbid it. to read into the NT your ideas and find support for a trinity and for Paul's ideas, why protest that? it is your faith. unto you your faith, of course. but your eisegesis here, of the Quran and the opening letters, is confoundingly off. i also believe that God does not guide (in right faith) those who guess and suppose and invent ideas about Him without understanding.

What have you been taught that the initials mean?

Are you saying that Mohammad did not understand that Jesus was the WORD.

i have not been taught anything, specifically, about the initial letters. but to say they spell out a message about Jesus being someone to worship... certainly not.

as a Muslim, i say that Jesus was not the "word" as you are quoting from John. i believe that he came by God's permission and blessing to speak about God to his followers, to speak the message of God to them. as far as him embodying God or being God, no. God willing you know that the Quran does not teach / describe that, and that this is not something Muslims believe.

What about the math? That would be hard to duplicate.

ayani- How would that be a hidden message? A hidden message is counting every 12 letter to makes words, or using some math code to try and prove something. A sure guidance to people would not have initials that no one understands!

I don't believe that "The Christ is the WORD in which there is no doubt, a guidance unto those." is saying to worship Jesus.

Even as a muslim you have to agree that GOD had a special place and mission for Jesus, above all others.

                    Peace to all,

no we dont have to believe that as "muslims" pvc, we do believe that he was just as special as other prophets and/ or messengers, his mission was more unique than others though because he was sent specifically to the jews as their last chance to keep their covenant with God, this is why jesus was sent to them specifically as Jesus even says in the NT, " I have only been sent to the lost sheep of Israel, and I am not to preach unto the gentiles" though his message was the same true message of GOd, as were the others messengers messages, his mission was unique and for the jews. The Quran is the final, perfect , and universal revelation of God, for all of us for all times, at least until judgment day.

Actually pvb in Al Quran we are commanded by God to NOT prefer one prophet over another or differentiate between them, and this includes Jesus and Muhammad. See the verses below

2285 "The messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord and so have the believers; each has believed in God, His angels, His scriptures and His messengers. 'We do not differentiate among His messengers' and they said 'we heard and we obeyed; we seek your forgiveness, Our Lord, and unto You is our destiny'."

384 "Say 'we believe in God and what was sent down to us and what was revealed to Ibraheem and Isma'eel and Iss-haq and Ya'qub and the patriarchs and what was given to Musa and I'ssa and what was given to the prophets by their Lord, we do not differentiate among any of them and we are submitters unto Him'".

469 Say "I am no different from the other messengers, nor do I know what will happen to me or to you. I only follow what is inspired to me. I am no more than a clear warner

                          This includes Jesus

                          Peace Jonny,

223 doesn't mention Muhammad. The address is to An-Nas/mankind (221).

1038 applies to all people, not just jews and Christians. That's preposterous. Are you saying all besides jews and chrisitians are excused here ?!

1113 see the comments on 1038.

Since Al quran was to some guy named muhammad (good luck proving which one), we shouldn't follow it right? It was just for him. )

1452 This is a proclamation for mankind and so that they are warned with it, and so that they know that there is but One God, and so that those with intelligence will remember.

Mohammad wasn.t a prophet he was a warner?

So Mohammad is not held above Jesus in Islam? That is really a surprise to me. Or is it so with the Quran onlyfollowers? If so then actually the Quran only are very close to the Bahai faith.

So why was Jesus sinless, His sides not touched by satan at birth? Or is this a hadith?

Jesus came for the Jews first, but the all non Jews were next. His purpose on earth had to be completed before the good news of it could reach others.

The Quran does warn Christians to follow their scripture.

Mohammad wasn.t a prophet he was a warner?

Being a warner is one of the traits of ALL prophets. See 4165, carefully noting the context.

So Mohammad is not held above Jesus in Islam? That is really a surprise to me. Or is it so with the Quran onlyfollowers? If so then actually the Quran only are very close to the Bahai faith.

Neither is above the other. Again 469 none of them are different than the other. They were all told the same thing, not word for word of course (4143). They all preached the same message (4213). The names should be irrelevant. It's the message that's important.

So why was Jesus sinless, His sides not touched by satan at birth? Or is this a hadith?

                                  This is a hadith, yes.

Jesus came for the Jews first, but the all non Jews were next. His purpose on earth had to be completed before the good news of it could reach others.

Why just jews? What do you mean 'first' ? Quranically, he died and that was the end of it.

The Quran does warn Christians to follow their scripture

It warns everyone. There's no word for "christians" in Al quran.

                                      Peace "PVB",
Whatever is in the brackets is irrelevant. The other YES ofcourse all righteous believers whether amongst Jews, Christians, Buddhists or whaetver who beleive in GOD, the last day and do righteous deeds will prosper. There are many good rational Unitarian Christians who are compatible with the QUrnaic teachings and even James Randi likes them. Then there are the rational Jews whove quit following the corrupt OT laws inc stoning of adulteres, killing of apostates, etc etc and wanna follow the path of GOD Alone. Hence these are what the Quran means and last but not least there are amongst the Sabbeans too those who are righteous. This has nothing to do with following or accepting the Bible. Please get this into your mind once and for all. The Bible did not guide any of them. It is the spirit and rationality within them that lead them to recognize what the Quran states. GOD Bless!
