Questions on some verses from the Quran.

I have some questions regarding some verses in the Quran please anyone answer them if you can.
"Cut off the hand of the thief, male or female, as a recompense for that which they committed, a punishment by way of example from All?h. And All?h is All?Powerful, All?Wise." (53
What constitutes a thief in this verse? If some kid steals an apple or something petty from a market do I have the right to cut off his hand? Also I read the word translated as hand (yad) in Arabic can mean from your finger tip to your wrist or from your finger tip to your elbow or from your finger tip to your arm pit all that can be referred to as 'Yad'. So can you cut off the arm of the theif? Please explain.
"They (Jews and Christians) took their rabbis and their monks to be their lords besides All?h..." (931)
I used to be a Roman Catholic but we never worshipped or took as lords our priest. When did the Jews and Christians take their rabbis and their monks to be their Lords? If you ask any Christian if he takes his priest to be his lord besides God he is going to say no. So what is this verse talking about? Please explain.
"It is those who believe and confuse not their belief with wrong for them (only) there is security and they are the guided." (63
What does it mean to "confuse not their belief with wrong" is it talking about committing sin i.e. doing wrong even if it be a little? Arent we all sinners so how can I have security in my religion? Please explain.
"Thus We have made you a Wasat (just) (and the best) nation, that you be witnesses over mankind." (2143)
What does this mean "that you be witnesses over mankind."? Please explain.
"All?h commands you as regards your children's (inheritance); to the male, a portion equal to that of two females; if (there are) only daughters, two or more, their share is two thirds of the inheritance; if only one, her share is half. For parents, a sixth share of inheritance to each if the deceased left children; if no children, and the parents are the (only) heirs, the mother has a third; if the deceased left brothers or (sisters), the mother has a sixth. (The distribution in all cases is) after the payment of legacies he may have bequeathed or debts. You know not which of them, whether your parents or your children, are nearest to you in benefit, (these fixed shares) are ordained by All?h. And All?h is Ever All?Knower, All?Wise." (411)
The laws of inheritance have been layed out in the Quran but are we suppost to leave inheritance to disbelievers and can we inherit from disbelievers? Please Explain.
"And (remember) when All?h promised you (Muslims) one of the two parties, that it should be yours,.." (87)
Who are these two parties referred to here and when?
"Indeed, All?h was pleased with the believers when they gave their Bai'? (pledge) to you (O Muhammad SAW) under the tree, He knew what was in their hearts, and He sent down As-Sakinah (calmness and tranquillity) upon them, and He rewarded them with a near victory," (481
What is being refferred to here when did the believers give a pledge to Muhammad under a tree and what was the pledge?
"And All?h has already made you victorious at Badr, when you were a weak little force." (3123) and "Truly All?h has given you victory on many battle fields, and on the Day of Hunain (battle) when you rejoiced at your great." (925)
What is being talked about in this verses? What happened at Badr and Hunain? When did these battles take place and why?
"And fight in the Way of All?h those who fight you but transgress not the limits. Truly, All?h likes not the transgressors." (2190)
What are the limits that we should not transgress?

I don't know, the last time a certain ahem person came on here asking questions about the quran, he couldn't tell his elbow from his forearm rotfl
So what makes you genuine this time?

The assumption "if you can" above is that we can?t so no answers will suffice.

As to thieves,
Definition a criminal who takes property belonging to someone else with the intention of keeping it or selling it.
If cross-referenced with other uses of ?their hands? and apply best meaning?
Waalssariqu waalssariqatu faiqtaAAoo aydiyahuma jazaan bima kasaba nakalan mina Allahi waAllahu AAazeezun hakeemun
538 And the male thief/robber and the female thief/robber, so cut off their (B)'s hands, a reward because (of) what they (B) gathered/acquired, severe exemplary punishment from God, and God (is) Glorious/Mighty, Wise/judicious.Wahuwa allathee kaffa aydiyahum AAankum waaydiyakum AAanhum bibatni makkata min baAAdi an athfarakum AAalayhim wakana Allahu bima taAAmaloona baseeran
4824 And He is who prevented/stopped their hands from you, and your hands from them with inside Mecca from after that He gave you victory/triumph on them, and God was/is with what you make/do seeing/knowing.In above verses and others, what was held back/restrained is their hands "aydiyahum." Likewise, for known thieves (i.e. repeat offenders) cut off their hands "aydiyahum" or "their means to further perpetrate crime."
For professional thieves in 7th century Arabia the literal severing of a hand is one-way to cut off their means to perpetrate crime; prison is certainly another option along with other methods (i.e. discipline the kid). Also take into account the very next verse.
539 So who repented from after his injustice/oppression, and he corrected, so that God forgives on him, that God (is) a Forgiving, Merciful.

Salam,
And the thief, male and female cut off the hands of both, as a recompense for what they have earned, and a punishment exemplary from God; God is All-mighty, All-wise.
But whoso repents, after his evildoing, and makes amends, God will turn towards him; God is All-forgiving, All-compassionate.
What if the person repents, will you still cut his hands?

Confuse not
the verse withSo We were showing Abraham the kingdom of the heavens and earth, that he might be of those having sure faith.
When night outspread over him he saw a star and said, 'This is my Lord.' But when it set he said, 'I love not the setters.'
When he saw the moon rising, he said, 'This is my Lord.' But when it set he said, 'If my Lord does not guide me I shall surely be of the people gone astray.'
When he saw the sun rising, he said, 'This is my Lord; this is greater!' But when it set he said, 'O my people, surely I am quit of that you associate.
I have turned my face to Him who originated the heavens and the earth, a man of pure faith; I am not of the idolaters.'
His people disputed with him. He said, 'Do you dispute with me concerning God, and He has guided me? I fear not what you associate with Him, except my Lord will aught. My Lord embraces all things in His knowledge; will you not remember?
How should I fear what you have associated, seeing you fear not that you have associated with God that whereon He has not sent down on you any authority?' Which of the two parties has better title to security, if you have any knowledge?
Those who believe, and have not confounded their belief with evildoing -- to them belongs the true security; they are rightly guided.
That is Our argument, which We bestowed upon Abraham as against his people. We raise up in degrees whom We will; surely thy Lord is All-wise, All-knowing.
What do you find confusing in the above verses?

Salam,
"And All?h has already made you victorious at Badr, when you were a weak little force." (3123) and "Truly All?h has given you victory on many battle fields, and on the Day of Hunain (battle) when you rejoiced at your great." (925)
What is being talked about in this verses? What happened at Badr and Hunain? When did these battles take place and why?
.
O believers, take not for your intimates outside yourselves such men spare nothing to ruin you; they yearn for you to suffer. Hatred has already shown itself of their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is yet greater. Now We have made clear to you the signs, if you understand.
Ha, there you are; you love them, and they love you not; you believe in the Book, all of it, and when they meet you they say, 'We believe,' but when they go privily, they bite at you their fingers, enraged. Say 'Die in your rage; God knows the thoughts in the breasts.'
If you are visited by good fortune, it vexes them; but if you are smitten by evil, they rejoice at it. Yet if you are patient and godfearing, their guile will hurt you nothing; God encompasses the things they do.
When thou wentest forth at dawn from thy people to lodge the believers in their pitches for the battle -- God is All-hearing, All-knowing --
when two parties of you were about to lose heart, though God was their Protector -- and in God let the believers put all their trust --
and God most surely helped you at Badr, when you were utterly abject. So fear God, and haply you Will be thankful.
When thou saidst to the believers, 'Is it not enough for you that your Lord should reinforce you with three thousand angels sent down upon you?
Yea; if you are patient and godfearing, and the foe come against you instantly, your Lord will reinforce you with five thousand swooping angels.'
God wrought this not, save as good tiding to you, and that your hearts might be at rest; help comes only from God the All-mighty, the All-wise;
and that He might cut off a part of the unbelievers or frustrate them, so that they turned in their tracks, disappointed.
Read the above verses carefully, what is the point?
If you know the date of the battle of Badr will it make a difference?Hati

"And fight in the Way of All?h those who fight you but transgress not the limits. Truly, All?h likes not the transgressors." (2190)
What are the limits that we should not transgress?Peace,
Respectfully.First of all, it's not about cutting off the hand, it'c making a cut, that heals in time but the lesson here to remind the people around the robber who he or she is. Little cut, like when you get a paper cut or when you cut your finger when cutting a cucmber or tomato or potato.
Second they take their rabbis and priests and today sheiks and imams and hafiz and alims as their more-then-a-ordinary-citizens, they respect them more, they treat them as superhumans, as intercessors, they die for them and make them leadears in worldly affairs.
Ask any sunni, for example, anything about Islam, Quran or the hadeeth, he and she will immediately say"Gom to the sheikh or imam, he knows."
Third Do not confuse your belief with wrong. It's siomple follow Quran, ignore all other books because they are man-made and the Quran is from God. Following Quran means following God's commands. Following all other books, means following those authors who wrote them. Right?
Fourth Inheritance is easy, mother gets this much, father gets this much, sister this much, brother, cousin and so on, it's not our concern if they are believers or not. I follow Quran alone but all my family and relatives are non-practising sunnis so in the case of my death, my cash would have to be distributed among them according to the Quran, belief is not an issue when the distribution is the main issue.
Fifth 87 is talking about a war. I think - God knoes best - it talks about a battle from the past but the most important thing here is that you get a lesson from that story, from 87.
4818, same. It's reffering to a battle that prophet Muhammad and his friends were engaged against the bad guys. Think about it prophet Muhammad is about to fight the enemy. He must encourage his soldiers, he must tell them what to do, where to stand, what to do if the enemy splits them, if captives are taken, if they lose, prophet Muhammad was a good leader and he had to encourage his men to fight in the cause of Allah SWT, that they must fight against the oppressors, against immorality, against those who kill and rape and steal and forbid to pray, who forbid freedom and equality.Sixth Brother, God is telling us throughout the Quran about many battles that occured during the time of prophets and in between. We are suppose to take lessons from those stories, from those battles. Prophet Moses fought pharao
and what do we do when we run into an oppressor such as a pharaoh- Bush, please, pull all military forces from persian Gulf and stop entering other people's wars.
- If he doesn't listen, walk away.
- If Bush starts to oppres you or wants to recrut you or forces you, then fight him.
4 Always rely on God, like prophet Moses.
Thou shall not kill.
Whoever is a reason that a life is saved, like he saved a whole world.Peace.

I have to somewhat disagree here. For starters, where did you get your idea of "cutting the hand" such that you make a mark only?
The damage is done and there can be no repentance in this case - tit has been given for tat. Cutting their means on the other hand, is more in line with the verse and there is much room for repentance in that case.
I agree when you say that Sunnis do such and such but I have to disagree on what you're getting at. A person telling you to seek knowledge about X from a scholar who will know X is doing no harm like so. The harm only comes about because that person has appointed scholar X as their clergy between them and God despite the quran repeatedly warning that such people are not to be trusted.

None of your answers have been sufficient and many of the questions have remained unanswered. Dont you hadith rejectors always try to use Surah al-Nahl Ayah 89 as a proof against the Sunnah? Your just adding your own words to try to explain these verses, either way im still waiting for sufficient responses to my questions? and here is another question just for kicks, lol.
"Perish the two hands of Ab? Lahab and perish he!" (1111)
Who is Abu Lahab and why is Allah saying "perish he"?

Peace Mujaahid,
This is not a forum for "kicks" and if you continue to post to amuse yourself than you shall be promptly banned from posting here again. Regarding "abu lahab" in chapter 111, I believe it to be the character of those who are condemned due to thier belief in their power in this world based on the material gains (which have no benefit for them) they have procured and that those who support them in their devious endeavors will only trap themselves for the chastisement. So let's not post here on important issues for kicks.

I have some questions regarding some verses in the Quran please anyone answer them if you can.The assumption "if you can" above is that we can?t so no answers will suffice.
Continuing from $160 portrait above?
"Thus We have made you a Wasat (just) (and the best) nation, that you be witnesses over mankind." (2143)
What does this mean "that you be witnesses over mankind."? Please explain.
O you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even though it be against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, be he rich or poor, Allah is a Better Protector to both (than you). So follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest you may avoid justice, and if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, Allah is Ever Well Acquainted with what you do.
(Chapter #4, Verse #135)The laws of inheritance have been layed out in the Quran but are we suppost to leave inheritance to disbelievers and can we inherit from disbelievers? Please Explain.
Asking so many questions it?s only cordial to answer a few as well...
If a man dies, who decides if he and which relatives are believers?
InheritorsMother; Brother; Sister ? which verse to use, 412 or 4176? Please explain.
412?and if (he) was/is a man to be inherited without a child or father or a woman (wife), and for him (is) a brother, or a sister, so for each one from them (B) the sixth?
4176?and if they were brothers (siblings) men and women, so to the male equal/alike (the) share (of) the two females, God clarifies for you that (E) you (not) be misguided, and God is with everything knowledgeable.
Or solve the distribution of $1 and teach us the forgotten wisdom of Al-Faraid.
Peace

Wow 235 views and it seems you are all still befuddled at my questions I thought you "Quran aloners" have knowledge of the book you claim that you honor. rotfl (yeah thats my expression right now).
Your deluded. Just because 235 views have been made doesn't mean we're befuddled. If your opening post and further posts were honest and truthful in seeking knowledge and debating maybe you would have gotten more replies. But in the meantime keep showing your ignorant attitude and living deluded.

Most of your questions were easily answered; gather yourself from bemusement and read the thread.
Still waiting to answers to simple question above.

I did read the thread and you all didnt answer any of my questions. I suggest you look over the thread again and get your mind right.
Obviously you can?t read or refuse to read and conveniently skip questions posted to you.

I wanted to make a thread called "Meaning of verses in the Quran", but I was sure something like that has been made already.
So...I want to know if the following means what I think they mean.
I will end with the verse 2222 (lol) that the 4 (5 including RK) English translators make pretty unclear when it comes to the issue of what's allowed in sex.
First verse is 3030 (lol numbers) and in all translations it says there shall be no change in God's religion. Here's RK's Therefore, you shall devote yourself to the religion of strict monotheism. Such is the natural instinct placed into the people by GOD. Such creation of GOD will never change. This is the perfect religion, but most people do not know.
Anyway, some hadithist trying to prove shaving the beard is haram because it "alters Allah's creation" (while claiming at the same time trimming the mustache, and shaving pubic and axillary hair, isn't) while also saying it "alters" because it's imitating the female (thinking at the same time growing out your hair and removing bodily hair isn't. Notice any fallacies so far?) used this verse to support his claim. Anyway, it's not only RK's translation that seems to be saying changing God's creation (in terms of RELIGION) is the bad thing. So, what the hell does trimming hair have to do with religion? You guessed it, none, while hadith books say the prophet cursed the woman who plucks her eyebrows (even when her thick eyebrows make her look like a man, hence imitation of the opposite sex?) You see what kind of stupid*** logic arises when you use hadith for your religion? Add sexism to the picture and you get "it's permissable if she's married and her husband tells her to do it so he can get the best possible orgasm." rotfl
Next verse, 56, talks about when bathing is required. Half say this means after having intercourse, and the others, including RK, say after discharge...which one is it? Does discharge apply even when there isn't a woman, or a human being around you?
RK's O you who believe, when you observe the Contact Prayers (Salat), you shall (1) wash your faces, (2) wash your arms to the elbows, (3) wipe your heads, and (4) wash your feet to the ankles. If you were unclean due to sexual orgasm, you shall bathe. If you are ill, or traveling, or had any digestive excretion (urinary, fecal, or gas), or had (sexual) contact with the women, and you cannot find water, you shall observe the dry ablution (Tayammum) by touching clean dry soil, then rubbing your faces and hands. GOD does not wish to make the religion difficult for you; He wishes to cleanse you and to perfect His blessing upon you, that you may be appreciative.
I guess a better question is what is the definition of "jannabat" but you know good as hell that I'm not googling this. hadith results...shivers. So tell me what you guys think. I really, honestly think it's referring to sex, and something like masturbation is simply not sex. Moving on.
As promised, here is the final verse (2222) that the 5 translators put big question marks on.
Khan's version They ask you concerning menstruation. Say that is an Adha (a harmful thing for a husband to have a sexual intercourse with his wife while she is having her menses), therefore keep away from women during menses and go not unto them till they are purified (from menses and have taken a bath). And when they have purified themselves, then go in unto them as Allah has ordained for you (go in unto them in any manner as long as it is in their vagina). Truly, Allah loves those who turn unto Him in repentance and loves those who purify themselves (by taking a bath and cleaning and washing thoroughly their private parts, bodies, for their prayers).
Pickthal's They question thee (O Muhammad) concerning menstruation. Say It is an illness, so let women alone at such times and go not in unto them till they are cleansed. And when they have purified themselves, then go in unto them as Allah hath enjoined upon you. Truly Allah loveth those who turn unto Him, and loveth those who have a care for cleanness.
Shakir's And they ask you about menstruation. Say It is a discomfort; therefore keep aloof from the women during the menstrual discharge and do not go near them until they have become clean; then when they have cleansed themselves, go in to them as Allah has commanded you; surely Allah loves those who turn much (to Him), and He loves those who purify themselves.
Ali's They ask thee concerning women's courses. Say They are a hurt and a pollution So keep away from women in their courses, and do not approach them until they are clean. But when they have purified themselves, ye may approach them in any manner, time, or place ordained for you by Allah. For Allah loves those who turn to Him constantly and He loves those who keep themselves pure and clean.
Lol Ali...you little devil. >D
And finally, RK's. Is it me or does this and Khan's version seem to be the most accurate translation of "fa'tuhunna min haythu Amarakum Allah"? They ask you about menstruation say, "It is harmful; you shall avoid sexual intercourse with the women during menstruation; do not approach them until they are rid of it. Once they are rid of it, you may have intercourse with them in the manner designed by GOD. GOD loves the repenters, and He loves those who are clean.
I then conclude that the Quran, in Arabic, forbids sex of any kind as long as it's not done in the natural and typical way. So, oral, anal, etc. is not acceptable, despite the rulings given by sunni scholars.
Too bad I like oral the most (when it's done on me) (, but if God commands that we do it in the way he ordained, then oh well. Tilth ftw.
