    Peace Soof,

There were other quran/qurans (reading/readings) at the same time of al-quran which implies they existed before also. This is proved by al-quran

619 Say ?Which is the greatest testimony?? Say ?God is witness between me and you, and He has inspired to me this Qur?an that I may warn you with it and whomever it reaches, that you bear witness that along with God are other gods!? Say ?I do not bear witness!? Say ?He is only One god, and I am innocent of what you set up!?

1015 And when Our clear revelations are recited to them, those who do not wish to meet Us said ?Bring a Qur?an other than this, or change it!? Say ?It is not for me to change it of my own accord, I merely follow what is inspired to me. I fear, if I disobey my Lord, the retribution of a great day!?

1037 This Qur?an could not have been produced without God, but it is to authenticate what is already present, and to give detail to the Scripture in which there is no doubt, from the Lord of the worlds.

123 We narrate to you the best stories through what We have inspired to you in this Qur?an; and before it you were of those who were unaware.

179 This Qur?an guides to that which is more upright, and it gives glad tidings to the believers who do good work that they will have a bountiful reward.

1741 And We have clarified in this Qur?an so they may remember, but it only increases their aversion!

1788 Say ?If all the humans and the Jinn were to gather to bring a Qur?an like this, they could not come with its like, even if they were helping one another.?
1789 And We have clarified to the people in this Qur?an from every example, but most people refuse to be anything but a rejecter!

1854 And We have clarified in this Qur?an for the people from every example; but mankind was always most argumentative.

2530 And the messenger said ?My Lord, my people have deserted this Qur?an.?

2776 This Qur?an narrates to the Children of Israel most of that which they are in dispute over.

3058 And We have put forth for the people in this Qur?an of every example. And if you come to them with a sign, those who rejected will say ?You are bringing falsehood!?

3431 And those who rejected have said ?We will not believe in this Qur?an, nor in what is already with him.? And if you could but see these transgressors when they stand before their Lord, how they will accuse one another back and forth. Those who were weak will say to those who were mighty ?If it were not for you, we would have been believers!?

3927 And We have put forth for the people in this Qur?an from every example, that they may take heed.

4126 And those who rejected said ?Do not listen to this Qur?an and talk over it that you may succeed.?

4331 And they said ?If only this Qur?an was sent down to a great man from the two towns!?

5921 Had We sent down this Qur?an to a mountain, you would have seen it trembling, crumbling, out of reverence for God. And such are the examples We put forth for the people, that they may reflect.

"This qur'an" and "a qur'an like this" clearly implies there were other qur'an/qur'ans too at the same time and/or before al-qur'an.

Soof like word Al-qur'an is not one word. It is our lack of understanding with language that we have accepted it as one word. Hence, also try to apply wrong roots as well to justify our ignorance. It is a sentence "The One I established" and again not a proper noun for the Al-Kitab= "The bound book of law".
