how did Abraham do it?

Selaam wa rahmatullah
It is very important for me to find out how to perform my connection with God.
If anyone has any knowledge about how Abraham did, and if you can tell me where you have this knowledge from. I will be most appreciative.
I am so confused. The only thing that still attaches me to the sunni is there argumentation for salat. I am sure the Quran MOST have an answer to this. I have failed to find it, I have not been trying so hard. And I know there are some of you who has. I will browse through the forum to read your posts. Please be patient with me, I only seek to please Allah.

Peace be upon you,
Abraham studied Al Kitaab (life/creation), and used reasoning to arrive at truthful conclusions...
He looked at the stars , moon, and sun and when he saw them set (they did not pass the test of verification, therefore was not LAW, law does not ever change), he said "this is not my Lord".
This is what we must do with all beliefs, put them to test to see if they sustain, or if they "set". If they sustain, then we take them from belief to KNOWLEDGE, and we can build firmly on solid foundation of knowledge (Abaham the builder), just like a person at NASA can study thier theory of gravity and other things and TEST THEM and arrive at a KNOWING based on mahematically strict relationshipd and build a spaceship to fly a man in space, to escape gravity! WHat then can a man do with the LAWS of the mind?
Abraham raises the foundations on LAW...but what does he build? He builds the Godly self IMAGE. We all manifest that which we constantly identify with in our daily images? We create how we respond to lifes events by the images we hold onto. Abraham cleaned the house of images of shyness, depression, greed, etc and called people to the house of GOD-liness. We must "face" the masjid of restriction at all times.
WHat is restricted from the masjid? All "idols" !!!! Idols are not statues and totem poles, idols are your wrong self images!! If you are not the image of God, then what image are you? The masjid RESTRICTS wrong self images, but notice how this is worded. We RESTRICT wrong images because by doing so we realize our TRUE IMAGE is not one that must be PUT INTO US, it IS US!!! But it is just blocked by the "idols". That is why we PURIFY The NAFS!

Salaams Br,
Want to be guided right!
PICKTHAL Who hear advice and follow the best thereof. Such are those whom Allah guideth, and such are men of understanding.
Of course advice can be anything from yourself or others or even how one understands or sees the world, So the more or better one can do this, the better you are guided.
Now your conclisions?
God Bless.
-
I have not been able to conclude anything yet.. I have much advice to study and compare.
We kinda think the same God Within (how is this name understood?). I always question everything, even what might seem the truth. Because the truth can withstand any argumentation, that is how I usually conclude things.
The restricted Temple, I understand it is our self. But isnt it also Kaaba? And do we have to use this place as our focal point, when we turn inwards and cleanse usself? So many questions I have...
-
Salaam pax. Having read the Torah, Zabur, Injeel, and Quran, I find only one nabi/messenger who was asked "how shall we pray" The nabi was Esa/Jesus. Esa said "Like this therefore pray you..." Esa then went on to recite what is called the Lord's prayer.
May Allah forgive me if I make a mistake. It is not sufficient for me to tell you this and then leave you at the mercy of those who reject the words of Esa. Please go to www.peshitta.org, look at the Interlinear NT, Mattai 69-13, and Luqa 112-4.
Peshitta has the Injeel/Evangel in the original language that Esa spoke, Aramaic. Please study the words in Aramaic exectly as Esa said them. Note Aramaic is written from right to left, the same as Arabic. Esa is a blessed nabi of Allah as well.
I am aware that there are those who perform salaat according to a sunnat of Muhammad. I have yet to come across a Quran verse that is a hukum of Allah to pray in that manner.
There is wisdom in what Allah instructs us to do, and there is also wisdom in where Allah stops. Allah stops at the point of giving us a hukum as to how to make salaat. We should stop looking for a manner in how to make salaat as well, this is closest to Allahs will.
Salaat/prayer is a request to Allah. We have many different things we can request. Allah has left the door open for us to make the requests we need without blocking our requests by prescribing a rigid form of salaat. Allah has left the door open for us to make any request that we need to make. This is the wisdom of Allah. Allah is mighty wise.

Peace be upon you Pax,
The restricted Temple, I understand it is our self. But isnt it also Kaaba? And do we have to use this place as our focal point, when we turn inwards and cleanse usself?
If it was the stone cube, then lets think about the verse that says "ALWAYS face the restricted masjid, WHEREVER YOU ARE....etc"
Are you facing the stone cube right now? How about when you are sleeping. WHat about when you are driving to work? This is not possible, however, it is certainly possibe to always have the character of the Righeteous. ;D

Salaam,
This is completely true. For example... do you BELIEVE you are human or do you KNOW you are human? The difference is massive.
peace
dotty -
Peace be upon you Dotty,
Yes, the diffference IS massive.. And to answer that I KNOW that I am NOT Human, but instead Divine. I have a human part to my being as well as an animal part, but those are vehicles for the "I" which is Divine. God blew of Its spirit into us, and that is our essence, DIVINE.
When you THINK you are human, you are trapped into thinking you cannot change because humans are emotional, etc. But when you realize you are Divine, then you can rise above emotions.

PeacePeace,
Respectfully.First, we must remember this Then we inspired you (Muhammad) to follow the religion of Abraham, the monotheist; he never was an idol worshiper.
So, whatever prophet Muhammad did, prophet Ibrahim did that thousands of years before him. Needless to say, prophet Musa and prophet Isa did the exact same thing.
Now, the question is How did prophet Muhmmad did his prayers and everything else?
I only see one answer The Quran is FULLY DETAILED (6114), the Quran deals with EVERYTHING (1689) and NOTHING has been left out of the book (63.
Therefore, read The Quran and follow it, by doing that you will be folowing prophet Muhammad who followed prophet Ibrahim and therefore you'll be doing what prophet Ibrahim did.Prophet Ibrahimalso worshiped only One God, he was a Monotheist, he prayed, fasted, gave charity, observed Hajj, was polite, nice, patient, good to his parents, we even have the story in The Quran how he politly invited his father to be a monotheist and avoided a possible fight with him by walking away.
May The Exalted God The Most Powerful bless you and guide you.
Glory be to our God.
Peace. -
Peace be upon you Alen,
I only see one answer The Quran is FULLY DETAILED (6114), the Quran deals with EVERYTHING (1689) and NOTHING has been left out of the book (63.
There is only one problem here, the word "quran" is not mentioned in either of those verses. The word "quran" is not the title of any book, it means proclamation, basically it is the teaching of AL Kitaab (The Book). The BOOK, is what is spoken about in those verses, not al-quran. If God meant to say that al-quran was fuly detailed and explains everything, God would, but God did not. This book we call "quran" is only a guide to point you to the truth about Al Kitaab (Life/the created world). All things are movement, therefore sound. God creates all things through sound(the word ...be and it becoomes). A collection of words/sound is what creation is, this it is described as Al Kitaab, the book.
Therefore, read The Quran and follow it, by doing that you will be folowing prophet Muhammad who followed prophet Ibrahim and therefore you'll be doing what prophet Ibrahim did.
Penetrate the laws of life and follow them just as the righteous before us did. Use al quran to help guide you as well as "THAT WHICH DESCENDED ON THOSE BEFORE YOU"...let us never forget a portion of the book, whild focusing only on another portion. God says trust in that which descended upon you and those before you. So we honor and respect this teaching and hold it high, but it is not the only teaching and we cannot fall into idoliaing one single physical book.
Prophet Ibrahimalso worshiped only One God, he was a Monotheist, he prayed, fasted, gave charity, observed Hajj, was polite, nice, patient, good to his parents, we even have the story in The Quran how he politly invited his father to be a monotheist and avoided a possible fight with him by walking away.
Ibrahim was not a worhipper, Ibrahim was a servant(ibad). Ibrahim did not bow to anything, Ibrahim cultivated his subconcious to reflect God's attributes, thus serving God by now allowing God to manifest through his vehicle.

Al-Qur'aan never full explains how Ibraheem performed 'salaat' during his lifetime. In reality, this is because it doesn't matter how Ibraheem performed his 'salaat' to God - we are not required to do what Ibraheem did. The Scriptures clearly tell us
"Shall I seek other than God as a source of law when He has revealed to you this Book fully detailed?" (6114)
The only way we need to perform our 'salaat' should be based on Al-Qur'aan, the fully detailed Scripture, not the alleged example of Ibraheem or Mohammed. That is the reason why everytime Al-Qur'aan instructs us to follow the "Millat Ibraheem", it specifies the creed to monotheism, the worship of the "One God" - it doesn't mean we have to follow all the rites and rituals that Ibraheem performed during his 'salaat'.
"...We revealed to you this Scripture truthfully, confirming previous Scriptures and superceding them..." (54
Because of the fact that Al-Qur'aan SUPERCEDES all previous Scriptures, we can't be held responsible for what Ibraheem taught and practiced. And because God states that Al-Qur'aan is fully detailed, it's unwise to draw our 'salaat' from the alleged sunna and hadeeth of Mohammed. The best source is in Al-Qur'aan.
And regarding the differentiation between "Al-Qur'aan" and "Al-Kitaab", there doesn't seem to be a difference between the two. It says
"He sent down to you this Scripture containing authoritative verses..." (37)
"Ar-Rahmaan, He has taught 'Al-Qur'aan'." (551,2)
"The Word of your Lord is complete, in truth and justice..." (6115)
"We have revealed to you this 'Kitaab' to provide explanations for everything..." (1689)
In those verses, both "Al-Qur'aan" and "Al-Kitaab" seem to be referencing the same "Scripture" that was mentioned in the Word (37). In verse 7518, it is even called a "compilation", showing that "Al-Qur'aan" (the reading) was compiled into "Al-Kitaab" (the book) to form one Scripture. Either way, they both contain the same complete and fully detailed Message. The concept of "Al-Kitaab" can't be speaking of the surrounding world - that wouldn't provide the explanations for everything as stated in 1689.
The statement in Al-Qur'aan that God 'sent the SCRIPTURE confirming previous SCRIPTURES and superceding them' (54 is a clear indication that we are only to follow ONE SCRIPTURE, contained in ONE BOOK...
Peace.

Salaam ahmad belal. May Allah protect me from the shaitaan. Before you post, you should actually read the Quran, instead of lying.
The Quran completely and utterly contradicts what you say. How did you get into this state, to where you lie about Allahs words?
The Quran never says we are not required to do what Ibraheem did, matter of fact the Quran does not say we are required to do what Muahmmad did either. The Quran says "when asked of your faith, say I am of the faith of Abraham who was ever the upright one" Do you obey Allah and say you are of the faith of Abraham? I believe you dont. Do you believe that uprightness is wrong? You say "we are not required to do what Ibraheem did" Do you lie about what Allah has said? Do you disobey Allah and claim to be of some other faith than that of Abraham? I am pretty sure you claim to be some sunni, shia, or something else.
The Quran does not claim to be a fully detailed scripture anywhere. The Quran does not say the only way we need to perform the salaat should only be based on Quran. There are no such hukum of Allah nor are there such verses. Where did you come up with "The only way we need to perform our 'salaat' should be based on Al-Qur'aan, the fully detailed Scripture" Do you lie about what Allah has said? Are you a god that you are authorized to make additions to the Quran?
The Quran says, this grand book confirming that which is with you. CONFIRMING... pay attention CONFIRMING. You claim "Because of the fact that Al-Qur'aan SUPERCEDES all previous Scriptures" The Quran TOTALLY TOTALLY contradicts you. previous revelations are CONFIRMED, not superceeded. Do you lie about what Allah has said? Are you a god that you can make such a change to what Allah says? I think not.
The Quran never claims anywhere that it is fully detailed. You claim "And because God states that Al-Qur'aan is fully detailed" This is nothing more than a terrible LIE. A terrible lie against the Quran. Do you lie about what Allah has said? Are you a god that you can add this into the Quran?
Allah is mighty wise, he taught man when man knew not. Allah is not some intellectual wasteland like a human being. When Allah says Quran he means Quran, when Allah says Kitaab he means Kitaab, when Allah says Word he means Word. Complete knowledge is with Allah alone. You claim "In those verses, both "Al-Qur'aan" and "Al-Kitaab" seem to be referencing the same "Scripture" that was mentioned in the Word" Do you lie about what Allah has said? Are you a god that you can make such a claim that they are the same?
Allah says at 548 "To you We sent the Scripture in truth, confirming the scripture that came before it, and guarding it in safety" You claim "The statement in Al-Qur'aan that God 'sent the SCRIPTURE confirming previous SCRIPTURES and superceding them' (54" is a terrible lie. You added the word superceeding. Do you lie about what Allah has said? Are you a god that you can make alterations to the Quran?
Since you are in this state where you lie about what the Quran says, I ask you, are you surprised that I said may Allah protect me from the shaitaan?
Allah says in 2968 And who does more wrong than he who invents a lie against Allah or rejects the Truth when it reaches him? Is there not a home in hell for those who reject Faith?
Allah says again in 3932 Who, then, doth more wrong than one who utters a lie concerning Allah, and rejects the Truth when it comes to him; is there not in hell an abode for blasphemers?
Is there anything you dont understand about telling lies about what Allah says because you are being repeateldy warned that for these LIES Allah WILL PUT YOU IN HELL, 3663 "This is the hell of which ye were (repeatedly) warned!
Allah is mighty wise.

Peace,
With all due Respect.Ahmad Bilal, you're aware that prophet Muhammad was told - brother Al-Araf has explained it to you better - to follow the religion of prophet Ibrahim, right? If prophet Muhammad prayed as we pray now, that would mean that we are following same religion as prophet Ibrahim, correct?
Prophet Ibrahim received the manasik, correct?
He asked The Exalted God AllMighty to show him the manasin, remember?
Then prophet Muhammad came and was told to follow those manasik, right?
Simple.God bless you.

Obviously, you're a lot less knowledgeable than I thought you were... Al-Qur'aan says in SEVERAL VERSES that it is "fully detailed" and that it "explains all things". You should take the time to read it before you call someone a liar against God... I'm not a Sunni or a Shi'a, I study Al-Qur'aan alone, and I take God's Word directly without the use of man-made books. And Al-Qur'aan doesn't tell us to follow the rites and rituals of Ibraheem, neither does it tell Mohammed to do so - if you believe so, you've been studying an inproper translation. It tells him to follow the CREED of Ibraheem, which is MONOTHEISM, the worship of one god. That's why everytime it tells Mohammed (and us) to do so, it names Ibraheem as a monotheist, and it says that he was "not one of the idol worshippers."
Al-Qur'aan also says that previous Scriptures are superceded, and it even gives clear examples. If they weren't superceded, only confirmed as you say, then why aren't Muslims instructed to follow the Sabbath? Why are we allowed to eat certain foods that the Jews weren't allowed to eat? Why wouldn't God just re-send the Torah???
Before you start sending accusations of someone forming a lie against God, you should actually read through Al-Qur'aan, and maybe you'll understand. You should find a different translation, instead of the Sunni-inspired one that you apparently have...
If we, like Mohammed, are instructed to follow all the rites and rituals of Ibraheem, why doesn't Al-Qur'aan explain what these rites and rituals were? Why don't we have a book sent by Ibraheem, detailing what we should do, if we're to follow him??? Mohammed didn't even have a book by Ibraheem instructing him to do this, which is why Al-Kitaab calls Mohammed the "gentile" prophet, or "one who has not received a Scripture". Mohammed got his lessons from God, not from Ibraheem...
By following the "CREED OF IBRAHEEM", we're instructed to follow the creed of MONOTHEISM. By studying God's Word, hopefully you'll understand... And for the record, it's not your place to condemn anyone to Hell, it is God's place. He is the only one who can do such. So, you should be more careful when you speak about such things... laugh
"Shall I seek other than God as a source of law when He has revealed to you this Book fully detailed?" (6114)

Peace everyone,
About the nation of Abraham and what they did, we are told the following in no uncertain terms
- That was a nation that has passed away; to them is what they have earned, and to you is what you have earned; and you will not be asked regarding what they did.
As for the example of Abraham, the stories about Abraham and all the prophets that are recounted in the great reading are not for entertainment. They provide the EXAMPLE to follow.
Not surprisingly, this whole idea of repackaging sectarian rituals such as what they call Salat and Hajj as "the example of Abraham" came about from 19ers. When they realized that their false Code 19 obviously failed to provide them with any guidance on any of those concepts, they had to justify their continuing blind following of sectarian practices and Hadiths on those matters. Of course, their fallacious logic begs the question what do sectarian practices have to do with Abraham?
Peace,
Ayman

I agree with what I know of your message, regarding following Ibraheem's EXAMPLE, not his RITES AND RITUALS... However, I don't know too much about the "19ers" and what they teach. When you say "19ers", are you talking about the "Submitters" group initiated by Dr. Rashad Khalifa, or are you speaking of something different, another group? I thought the "Submitters" follow Al-Qur'aan alone as well, not sectarian ideologies... I could be wrong, though...

No, they don't follow "Al-Qur'aan alone". Their most important belief, which is rejection of 9128-129 is based on a Hadith that casts doubt on this passage and Dr. Khalifa even hypocritically refers to this Hadith and presents it as evidence. They then use numerology to justify their Hadiths-based preconceptions. This is why if you read Dr. Khalifa's Appendices, you will see that there is no difference between his and his followers' ideologies and sectarian ideologies regarding what they falsely call Salat, Hajj, etc.
Also, all the Abraham examples that matter are in the great reading. The mechanical mindless rituals that we see sectarians do are not described in the great reading because Abarham never did such rituals or focused on a pagan black stone cube. What is in the great reading is the real example of Abraham.
Peace,

Peace Ayman,
Wow, I didn't know this... I'll have to look into those things, especially if Dr. Khalifa speaks of rejecting or removing verses from Al-Qur'aan. The Message itself says that God would preserve His Kitaab, so how could there be a man-made addition to it? Couldn't adding or taking away verses from Al-Qur'aan constitute shirk, viewing himself as capable of changing the Word of God? I'll try to search for some of those Appendices and gain more insight on the matter. Thanks for the information.
Peace.

Salam Ahmad Belal. I never claimed to have knowledge. True knowledge is with Allah alone.
You are not paying attention to what you read. You have made up in your mind that Quran and Kitab are the same thing. This is your bida/innovation. When you repeat this bida of yours, and claim Allah said this, it becomes a LIE. Allah never said the Quran and Kitab are the same.
If Allah wanted to Quran and Kitab to be the same thing, he would NOT have used two DIFFERENT names. Allah gave the names to all things and Allah teaches man the names. If you REFUSE to be a student, neither Allah or I can help you.
The noun Kitab, comes from the verb root, kataba or yukatibu. Kataba means write or transcribe Kitab means that which is written or transcribed. Knowing this, we apply this information to Kitab. Kitab then means that which Allah has written or transcribed.
The noun Quran comes from the root verb qara or iqra which means recite or say. Knowing this we apply this information to Quran. Therefore the Quran is that which is said or recited.
Herein lies the distinction that you fail to make, between that which is written and that which is spoken.
Allah says in the Quran, that the Kitab is with him.
Allah has said that the "explanation of things is in the Kitab" You say Allah says the "Quran explains all things" Do you not see the difference between Kitab and Quran, do you not see the difference between "explanation of things" and "explains all things" Beware of making claims that Allah has said something when Allah has not said such a thing. Beware of your negligence in being careless. Allah has not said what you claim. That made your claim a lie.
Now go back and look at what you posted, and my reply to your post. Do you see where you were careless, claimed Allah said something, when Allah had not said such a thing. Beware.
Your question about the Sabbath is an EXCELLENT question. Allah says 265 And well you knew those amongst you who transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath We said to them "Be ye apes, despised and rejected."
Allah is taking to you, and he is referring to those amongst you who trangress the Sabbath. Allah says they are apes, despised and rejected. I personally do not wish to be an ape, despised or reject by Allah. I do not transgress the Sabbath. I would advise you not to transgress the Sabbath either.
You went on to ask other questions about the Taurah. EXCELLENT questions, Allah is opening your eyes and heart, keep them open, do not close them.
Read the Taurah, you will see it says "Va yikra Elohim" in many places. Do you recall what I said earlier about Quran being that which is spoken. Do you recall the word Iqra and Qara. Here again in the Taurah is the word IQRA. THis is VERY IMPORTANT. If the word Iqra is in the Taurah, those that contain the word Iqra, are Spoken word of Allah, and in my opinion also Quran.
I know this is going to roil and infuriate many many people. They have spent their lives believing a particular definition of names. However, their defintions dont fit what Allah says or writes. I depend on Allah to tell me what is right or wrong. I reject anyone elses opinion. Inshallah Allah will advance me from stage to stage. I invite you to keep your eyes and heart open.
I dont believe that Allah makes mistakes. I believe Allah gets it right the first time and doesnt need to make corrections. By this standard, Allah has it right, from Taurah to Quran. The misunderstanding does not come from Allah. Human beings misunderstand what Allah says, then make up things to justify their misunderstanding.
Allah says 2106 None of our verses/ayat do we abrogate or cause to be forgotten, we send something better or similar knowest you not that Allah has power over all things? Allah says NONE of his verses are aborogated, NONE of his verses are forgotten. Allah says he sends BETTER verses and SIMILAR verses. The claim of people that Allah changes his hudood and hukum are proven false by this verse. Allah has NOT changed his hukum.
Therefore the claim that Allah has changed his hudood and hukum, is I believe a false claim. The hukum and hudood of Allah are for all time. From Taurah to Quran, the same, nothing has changed.
Look very carefuly VERY CAREFULLY at the words of the Taurah and Quran. They do NOT contradict one another or change anything. The claims that Allah changed this or that come not from Allah, they come from people who invent lies against Allah.
Allah has power over all things. Allah has made sure no verse is changed. Allah has maintained his verses or improved them.
