The Donation

For all,
Hallaqa in this verse in the Quran and in the context of hair/head means to cut one's hair to any length. So Anthonywallace, if you want a specific translation here it is To cut one's hair to any length. So when you get to the place of pilgrimage you cut your hair however you like. I know Arabic very well and the evidence I gave you was enough. In all Arabic (including Classical Arabic which is the one we are discussing) if you say 'I cut my hair' or '? got a hair cut' you say hallaqtu ra'si/sha'ri' or 'hallaqa al-hallaaqu ra'si/sha'ri'. It doesn't matter how long you make it as long as you cut it.
Godbless,
AnwarPeace pro, so you would agree with this
2196 and do not shave your heads until the donation reaches its destination; but whoever of you is ill or has an affliction to his head, then he may redeem by fasting or giving a charity or a rite.
Thanks

Salaam Anwar
Then why is (muqassireen shortening) in verse 4827 used with (mu7alliqeen ن when the latter covers its meaning?
Hey I dont really know all about Arabic or nothing, but if you are trying to use 4827 to frustrate 2196 seeking to cause confusion without having any explicite knowledge of them then be aware of God.
If not and you can bring a chapter like it then bring it forth for all to see.
O My serveants who believe, be aware of your Lord.
verse 2196 and 4827 are two different verses.
We are talikn bout 2196.
Now I will leave Anwar to answer the question.

Peace,
Thanks Samia for pointing that out. My answer to that would be that the Quran is explaining itself. First it says we are to cut our hair then then it says that the aim of that hair cut is to make our hair shorter (seems obvious but things are not always as simple as they may seem). And if we think about that, that cancels out cutting our hair in a way that doesn't make it shorter than what it was. The Quran is explaining itself. So for example. Just cutting my side burns or justing cutting the sides of my head would be a tahleeq (i think form two here is used to communicate mass cutting) or a halq. But we have to make the hair on our heads shorter than what it was. So I could get a fade, some parts and the works as long as all of it is shorter than what it was.
Godbless,
Anwar
