I seek refuge in God from Satan the rejected,

    Peace,

Oh look at that cute Doggie I just want to kiss him! I have two great danes and a German Shepard. They are with my parents in Alexandria though. I live in Cairo. However, I do spend a lot of time with them on the weekends and they slobber all over me and do all the cute things dogs do

But folks, nobody has answered my question yet. What should I do? Change my clothes or do the Wudu only?

No way I am going to kiss a dog! They poop everywhere, and they it their own poop. nope
Can't you just ask someone to walk outside with him so you can do your prayers without getting disturbed?

IAMOP, ever heard of christians saying God is one but split him into three entities? Tritiny as they like to call it. The father, Son and holy spirit issue?

What you are saying seems the same thing as what christians say about oneness when they actually mean tritiny.

I am not here to be misled by people like you if that is your true intention.

Look beyond the forms and to the nature of TRUTH itself.
2435, as always. Nobody has a response to it

    God is one
    Space & time is many
    Universe is one
    Heavens and earth is many

An individual aspect is not God. God is totality. The light of the heavens and earth Source, self-sufficient reality

God is light, the heavens and earth are MADE of light. God is the truth, the heavens and earth are MADE with truth.

The specific insight I wish to convey here is not transmittable except by direct experience of total ego dissolution/samadhi.

Based on what are you attributing God to the number one?
There is one God, but God is not the number one!

And your God is one God, no God except him, the mercy-giving merciful (2163)

There is one God, not God is the number 1!

What you said led to something even more interesting, I noticed that 1121 is translated incorrectly. To my understanding it does not saying that God is one (Wahyd), but that God is someone(Ahad)!

    Is the universe someone? No!

    Peace,

    Typo-shaitan snuck in. "of".

Favor seems to be consistent with being benevolent.

    Corrected and updated version

In the name of the one God, The Benevolent, The Most Merciful.
All praise is to the one God, The creator of the worlds. The Benevolent, The Most Merciful.

Not the path of those who provoked your anger, those who went astray.

    Peace.

Ok, I thought you could have mistyped. But I disagree with your translation of Alrahman Alrahym, because

    1. You give extra attributes to the word you are translating
    2. Everyone can be merciful
    3. Only because of being benevolent (having good intentions) doesn't make God unique, since everyone can have good intentions

Yes God is benevolent and merciful, but he is also the one who is able to give, take or even create mercy without being dependent of anything or anyone and that makes him unique!

This would be my version without adding extra words.

In the name of God, The mercy-giving Merciful (11)
Praise belongs to God, lord of the worlds (12)
    The mercy-giving Merciful (13)
Possesor of day of the religion (14)
Thee we obey and Thee we beseech (15)
Guide us to the straight path (16)
The path of those you bestowed upon not those wrath is upon neither the strayers (17)

Do you really associate God with the universe, or did you mean that he created the universe?

Here are some points I like to make. I personally think that Alrahman means one who created the mercy. Also alrahym is an attribute of alrahman. There is also chapter 55 which describes what Alrahman does. It also constantly says In/with what favour of your lord are you denying?

  • -=[ Correction/Modification to FM Translation of AlQuraan ]=-
    A Alladin

    Peace,

Something tells me verse 244 is translated the wrong way. It is translated as this

And those who accuse the independent females, then they do not bring forth four witnesses, you shall lash them with eighty lashes, and do not accept their testimony ever; and those are the wicked.

I think it is wrong, because this verse actually is telling something about "yarmuna", which means throwing. So I think it is not talking about those who accuse, but those who throw away or drive away their women out their houses.

You can also see that back in verse 651 where God says not to drive them away from their houses, except when they come with something clearly evil

O you prophet, if any of you have divorced the women, then they should be divorced while ensuring that their required interim is fulfilled, and keep count of the interim. You shall reverence God your Lord, and do not evict them from their homes, nor should they leave, unless they commit an evident lewdness. And these are the boundaries of God. And anyone who transgresses the boundaries of God has wronged his soul. You never know; perhaps God will make something come out of this.

O Prophet! When ye do divorce women, divorce them at their prescribed periods, and count (accurately), their prescribed periods And fear Allah your Lord and turn them not out of their houses, nor shall they (themselves) leave, except in case they are guilty of some open lewdness, those are limits set by Allah and any who transgresses the limits of Allah, does verily wrong his (own) soul thou knowest not if perchance Allah will bring about thereafter some new situation.

O Prophet! when you divorce women, divorce them for~ their prescribed time, and calculate the number of the days prescribed, and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, your Lord. Do not drive them out of their houses, nor should they themselves go forth, unless they commit an open indecency; and these are the limits of Allah, and whoever goes beyond the limits of Allah, he indeed does injustice to his own soul. You do not know that Allah may after that bring about reunion.

I know that not the same words are used but they can both be something of the same context.

    Peace

    Peace,

I don't know about that, but here is something interesting about shoes I found

In 2012 Moses is commanded to put of his shoes because he is in a "sacred/holy" valley. In 621 God is mentioned as "the holy". Muqaddas in 2012 and qudoos in 621!

That makes me think that I am not allowed to pray with shoes on my feet unless I think this holy city is more sacred than God, which is blashpemy against God.

A female is not necessarily a woman!!

But they have the same gender. You probably got what I meant. But somehow you try to escape the interpretation of nisaa to mean women, because you don't like what God has revealed?

Don't worry I don't even have a wife and even if I had I would never beat her because the word tharaba is used in different ways. 1424 is one of such example. I would keep her undamaged so I can have lunch and dinner with her eat.

By the way, what holds you back from returning back greetings?

Your point is exactly what -- that the earth is egg shaped when it's clearly not as was shown to you?

I hope you are not one of those who tries to change my language like telling me nisaa is not about woman while I am using it in my language the whole time to refer to woman.

Peace Alladin -- actually all translations got 4176 and inheritance wrong; which part was confusing?

4176 they seek your ruling say The God gives you a ruling in the kalala (i.e. spouse-less and fatherless) if a person died is not to that person an offspring and has sister so for her half what left and he inherits her if not is to her an offspring so if were two (feminine) so to them the two thirds from what left and if they have ikh'watan/siblings males and females (nisa is 3+) so to the male like share the two (feminine) clarifies The God to you lest/that you stray and The God in every thing Knowing

Perhaps very stupid of me, but I couldn't understand what was meant with "he inherits her". I did not understand what "he" refered to until I somehow came across the translation of Yusuf Ali (Again I do not claim that translators do not err.)
... (If such deceased was) a woman, ...

I remember that there was also another larger verse (from 411) about inheritance, which was even more confusing. Can you or someone else (who doesn't what to change my language ;D ) explain that with examples please? I don't understand that with just translation.

    Peace,

Seems I misjudged about word by word translation. Sometimes it doesn't give that extra info required for understanding.
I did not understand the example asana gave of 2215, but here is something else I found on my own

Verse 4176 confused me at first using only word by word translation, but when saw brackets with extra information I understood what it meant. But still I do not know why I should change my view regarding 2286

1964 "And we are not sent except by the authority of your Lord. To Him are our present and our future, and all that is in-between. And your Lord was never to forget."

Dr.Khalifa- We do not come down except by the command of your Lord. To Him belongs our past, our future, and everything between them. Your Lord is never forgetful.

Can you notice the mistake of their translation? Does that make sense to you? Please check all the verses where those two words have been occurred ,see their understanding matches the context of the verses or not.

That is a good point you brought. but it doesn't change the way I look at 2286.

Wa = And, Ma natazallo = do not come down, Ella=Except, Be-amre = by the command of, Rabbek = your lord.
Lahoo = to him belongs, ma bayna aydina= ..., wa = and, ma khalfana = ..., wa ma bayna = and what is in between, thalek = that

    Also some clarification about 6824
An = That, La = Not, Yadkholannaha = shall enter it, Alyawma = today, Alaykom = to you, meskyn = needy

I don't see them arguing that non of them shall be poor here, but arguing that they will refuse entrance of needy people from today!

    Questions/Comments on the Quran

  • Translation Error! Rashad Khalifa
    A Alladin

    @Asana

I did not claim that the other translaters did not err. What bothered me was that 2286 could have translated as

... Do not put upon us a burden like you did on those before us ...

How can you replace burden for blaspheming here!?
Didn't God put a burden on those before us? If not, then why is 7157 talking about removing burdens?

The translation where the word blasphemy occurs looks to me as if some people are trying to mock. So I will not use such translation without a clear proof!

Arabic was his native language. He was educated person? He knew about 2286, 7147 plus other verses how have been translated?it?s naivety of anybody who thinks he made such a mistake!

The same thing will muhammedans claim about their imams. But we are commanded to listen and follow the best. See 3918

They are the ones who examine all words, then follow the best. These are the ones whom GOD has guided; these are the ones who possess intelligence. (Rashad Khalifa, submission.info/quran)

I also do not agree with how rashad khalifa and free minds have translated 6824. It should have been "no poor man shall enter it today upon you" instead of "from then on, none of them would be poor.".
If you want to ask me what does that have to do with praising God, then my answer is that they did not only not praise God, but after forgetting about God they also wanted to abandon the needy from their garden.

    A Alladin

    Peace,

First of all, the translation 434 is wrong (its a sunni translation) since 'nisa' does not mean women and 'rejaal' does not mean men. And yes agression is not lawful to begin with but if someone shows agression(which is the case with a violent husband) than the victim has the full right to defend herself. So in other words, I PROMISE you that if my husband even TRIED to beat me I would beat him back as well.

Thats a weird statement to me. Nisa is already used in plural form in the 12th chapter.

    Quran 1230 & 1231, transliteration
