I have a question to anyone in the forum about Hajj"" . Since when did 'Hajj' become exclusively for muslims only? Do you not think that belief contradicts 22/27?

Mohsin Khan And proclaim to mankind the Hajj (pilgrimage). They will come to you on foot and on every lean camel, they will come from every deep and distant (wide) mountain highway (to perform Hajj ).
Saheeh And proclaim to the people the Hajj ; they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel; they will come from every distant pass -

    If you look closely at ' The Lists of Meanings ' from the root word of Sad-Lam-Waw one cannot help but the word commitment is the main meaning of all the listed meaning of Salat. Now let's see the listed meanings;

ص ل و = Sad-Lam-Waw = prayer, supplication, petition, oration, eulogy, benediction, commendation, blessing, honour, magnify, bring forth, follow closely, walk/follow behind closely, to remain attached.
In a horse race when the second horse follows the first one so closely that its head always overlaps the first horse’s body that horse is called AL-MUSSALLI (i.e. the one who follows closely / remains attached).
Central portion of the back, portion from where the tail of an animal comes out, the rump.

    musalla (مصلي) n. m. - 2125

    salat (صلاة) n. f. sing. - 23, 243, 245, 283, 2110, 2153, 2177, 2238, 2277, 443, 477, 4101, 4102, 4103, 4103, 4103, 4142, 4162, 56, 512, 555, 558, 591, 5106, 672, 692, 6162, 7170, 83, 835, 95, 911, 918, 954, 971, 9103, 1087, 1187, 11114, 1322, 1431, 1437, 1440, 1778, 17110, 1931, 1955, 1959, 2014, 20132, 2173, 2235, 2241, 2278, 232, 2437, 2441, 2456, 2458, 2458, 273, 2945, 2945, 3031, 314, 3117, 3333, 3518, 3529, 4238, 5813, 629, 6210, 7023, 7034, 7320, 985, 1075
    salawat (صلوات) nom. gen. n. plu. - 2157, 2238, 999, 2240, 239

The meaning of to follow closely, to follow closely behind and to remain attached all indicate that commitment is one of the main meaning of salat especially since the main purpose of Salat is rememberance of God. How can the word commitment in the context of following Allah's guidance closely or remain attached to it be categorized as general? if a professed muslim is not committed to following this God's guidance closely and to the best of his/her ability, is he/she fit to call himself/herself muslim in the first place? How would you translate 6/162?

The reason "The Salat is continuing to be an obsession" is because it is the major Pillar of The Deen and it will forever be debated as to its true meaning. Whether you believe that Salat to be the 'The Five Ritual Prayers or as commitment to follow Allah's message, this topic will always come up for discussions and debates as more and more new members or readers of the forum interested enough to discover the true meaning of Salat but too lazy or could not be bothered to think for themselves.

I am just amazed at the people here who has studied The Qurán for years and yet never discover that there are verses in it that says; " we die twice and we live only twice as well. So, does it make sense that someone who is dead a long time ago can return to Earth again just because his name was Isa ibn Mariam or the Biblical Jesus? No dead people can return to Earth alive until the day of resurrection. Or perhaps, there is a exception for this particular servant of God? Al Baqarah 28 .

Submission to me is nothing more than abiding by the law of god . The Rules of Law or the law that applies wherever one's residing, such a person or people is called a law abiding citizen( s). So in short, a submitter is = person or people who has committed himself/herself to always obey the law. Or, they can be called muslims in Quranic Arabic.

    Questions/Comments on the Quran

  • Jinn
    A almarh0m

Unlike what some say Jinn are not Humans, they are another creation other than humans endowed with sentience & also like us given free will to be tested. Qur'an says they are made from smokeless raging fire suggesting a plasma like constitution, they also operate at a separate frequency to us in such a way that we are visible to them but they are invisible to us.
They too have several races, one of which is Satan Ibliss's himself.
From Qur'an we can tease out that they were closer to Allah than us, being able to see His countenance which is denied to us humans, probably due to our more earthly (made from clay) constitution.
I do not believe Jinn can shape shift, though they have superior abilities, one of which might include fooling human senses like Pharaoh's magicians could do with their help (inductive reasoning).
Maybe also they have a commandment that they should not directly interact with us, but it seems they can be summoned by Satanists for help at a price (a lot of myths on that in the human lore's).
I read a very interesting book written by an unknown Muslim author, I believe he is from Africa, he delves deeply into this & is available on Amazon, I tweeted about him & used excerpts from his book on my @Twitter feeds - here are links
    https//twitter.com/meNabster/status/883478963854729216
    https//twitter.com/meNabster/status/883478963854729216

    https//twitter.com/inabster/status/878908687041138688

    From my twitter feed
Jinn, several races of them, with far superior abilities than humans, they are more ethereal than us, plasma beings made from raging smokeless fire, but not Angelic, unlike Angels they have weight whereas Angels who are pure energy are weightless. G-d/Hashem/Allah knows best.

Jinn in Arabic means hidden, they are other beings, but not Angels, Qur'an describes them as elementally made from smokeless fire through scorched winds, unlike humans who elementally were fashioned from a quintessence (proportioned) of clay.

Qur'an refers to these entities living alongside us at a different frequency, as Jinn, we & them are two sentient species endowed with free will in this low life, both are accountable how we use it on JD.
Malevolent among them are what we refer to as demons, Satan is their ruler.

Also this post specifically quoting the above author
    https//twitter.com/inabster/status/915912604132020224
I think white race is a fabrication based on Satanic pride, it is argued Jinns are of 3 species/races, that of Satan is equivalent to our "whites" for humans, so there is affinity between Jinns' "whites" & humans' "whites", the affinity of pride.

Finally, never Qur'an says Jinn can shape shift, however it says Mala'ika / Angels can shape shift into humans such as the Angel who appeared to Miriam mother of Issa & the two Angels descended on Babylon Harut & Marut.

    Peace

If Jinns are not human( or like human), why are they then eligible to go to " Hell " alongside the human for not using their senses, minds and hearts while living on earth?

And if Jinns are created from some kind of smoke, would you not think that the Jinns would enjoy the ''Fire of Hell"? Make your own conclusion but to me Jinns are human who makes decisions or take actions affecting the human at large from behind the scene and mostly they are evil people/Jinns . I came to this understanding fron reading verses about Jinn but particularly Qurán 7/179.

Yusuf Ali Many are the Jinns and men we have made for Hell They have hearts wherewith they understand not, eyes wherewith they see not, and ears wherewith they hear not. They are like cattle,- nay more misguided for they are heedless (of warning).
Mohsin Khan And surely, We have created many of the jinn and mankind for Hell. They have hearts wherewith they understand not, and they have eyes wherewith they see not, and they have ears wherewith they hear not (the truth). They are like cattle, nay even more astray; those! They are the heedless ones.
Saheeh And We have certainly created for Hell many of the jinn and mankind. They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. Those are like livestock; rather, they are more astray. It is they who are the heedless.

Do you think Allah was so wicked and unjust to punish the whole inhabitants of the earth for the transgression of Nuh's people? This alone is sufficient to conclude that the flood was local or regional. How would you collect the billions of species of creatures in pairs to be carried on board the ark? Even if the ark of Nuh was the size the largest aircraft carrier existing today it would still be a highly improbable feat. I suppose one can argue that there was a very advanced technologies which enable Nuh to accomplish his seemed impossible task. The story of the flood could be both literal and or metaphor.

  • New article: What is the meaning of "al masjid al haram"?
    A almarh0m

So brother waqas.. you consider Masjid = Acknowledgement nope / Place of Sujud/(submission) / Mosque....
in my understanding NO.... For me Masjid has only one meaning in quran that's sanctuary(natural and Human erected) ....Does any of the occurrences of masjid not fit as sanctuary in quran?
Masjid al Haram = Inviolable time of acknowledgement.... laugh why ? what is the background reason to conclude inviolable time of acknowledgement? is it only the translation or any concrete evidences to support it?
    god guide us

    Salam

If the meaning of masjid is indeed a sanctuary(physical) as you insisted, then I would have expected Archaeologists in the past would have unearthed several thousands ancient masjid all over the world. The reason being that masjid is a crucial word in Islam and within The Deen...if you care to read 3/19 it made it clear that the only deen acceptable in the sight of Allah is Islam which we can safely assume goes back to the time of the first human group e.g Adam et al. If that is still not sufficient you can always check out 42/13 about the deen of Nuh, Ibrahim and others after them.

So, if a masjid is a physical sanctuary whether natural or man made, we surely would have seen archaelogical evidence from at least some ruins of ancient sanctuary dedicated to Allah by the so called muslims but alas to date there is no such evidence existing anywhere in the world.

My suggestion to you brother is to do your own research using all the resources available online such as Qur'anic Concordance, Arabic Dictionaries and Lexica and do your own thinking to draw your own conclusion while asking for guidance from the author of the Qur'an. Your understanding does not have to be the same as other peoples as you know everyone of us at different level of understanding. I do my own interpretation and translation using the available resources but always asking Allah for his guidance.

al Masjid al Haram and al Masjid al Aqsa
    ? on April 22, 2009, 103612 AM ?
    Salamun alaykum

How long have we been seeing this particular topic discussed and debated and still no light at the end of the proverbial tunnel ? There have been so many theories , conjectures and speculations about these supposedly holy places . If the subject matter in question wasn't so serious , I would have found it so funny and even ridiculous .

My own thought in respect of this often controversial topic is .......that as long as we continue to convince ourselves that "al Masjid al Haram and al Masjid al Aqsa" are two physical Mosques , our attempts at grasping the Truth will be futile . Can we let go of all our pre-conceived ideas about Islam and start from what we know about the Qur'an now ? How about starting with Ayman's translation of "al Masjid al Haram" as The Inviolable institution of Obedience or simply The Law ( my preference ) ? After all this al Masjid al Haram was so obvious , that any believers at the time of the messenger would have recognised it as they would their own children . ( Qur'an 2144 ) . As for Al Masjid al Aqsa , or the farthest or is it the highest place of sujud ? I thought that this meaning presents no problem in reaching a clear conclusion as to the real meaning .

We as human being all have to go through a learning process, from basic knowledge of the world around us as well acquiring knowledge of the creator god , and Ahmad / Muhammad no exception to this rule in order to progress to a higher understanding , 937 , 961-5 . The messenger was searching for the Truth even before his appointment as prophet and messenger , and there are many anecdotal and hearsay evidence for this , regardless of the nature of these evidences , the sheer volume of it cannot be ignored . Further clarifying evidence to the need of the messenger to go through the learning process as a normal human can be seen at 18110 and 650 . Only had the messenger undergone all the "Learning Process" as a normal man did he progress to a higher understanding of Truth through the guidance of The God by reading and studying The Qur'an that was revealed to him by The all Knowing as evidenced by 2945 , 2121 and 1736 .

So , my personal understanding of The Journey from Al Masjid al Haram to The Furthest Masjid is that of a Spiritual and intellectual Journey rather than a physical one . From the the basic knowledge and observance of the law to the highest possible human potential e.g. Self Actualization and Self Transcendence as Abraham Maslow would describe it . My view on Hajj is very similar to this view of the two so called Holy Masjid , that is I believe that Hajj is a Pilgrimage within our understanding from the Base to the Ultimate in human enlightenment . And we as believers should try to emulate The Role Models recommended to us by The Merciful God .

Peace and may The God guide us to all truth

Please see Qur'an 6/115 and 10/15 - 17. No one can change Allah's words not even his prophets/messengers. Do not confuse that Old Testament = Taurat and New Testament = Al Injil, they are not related at all, If you want to see the previous Kitabs, read the Qur'an. There is no changes in Allah's message and guidance to mankind. Bible is a compilation from numerous sources.
