6141 "And He it is who causes gardens to grow, trellised and untrellised, and palm trees and crops of different food and olives and pomegranates, similar and dissimilar. Eat of its fruit when it yields and give its due on the day of its harvest. And be not excessive. Indeed, He does not like those who commit excess."

as you can see above, the ayat defines some restrictions about the crops that it's amount must be more than enough because we are advised not to be wasteful and it also should be qualified to trade in them so we could give its zakah. That's why there must be at least a community who live around Mecca focus on subsistence agriculture at that times.

First of all Saudi Arabia has no lakes or rivers. Rainfall is slight and irregular over most of the country. Previous message has some information about Asir Province which close to the Yemen border and aslo south neighbour of Makkah Province. Geographically, the Asir region is situated on a high plateau that receives more rainfall than the rest of the country and contains the country's highest peaks, which rise to almost 3000 metres. For example Abha which is the capital of Asir province is situated at 2200 meters above sea level on the other hand Mecca, the capital of Makkah Province, is just at a height of 277 meters above sea level. There is huge difference, roundly 2000 meters, between the altitudes that makes climate so distinct although these regions are very close to each other. Please give attention to this sentence "highland farmers also grow quince, plums, cherries, walnuts, olives, pomegranates and many kinds of grapes " helps us to better understand that altitude is very important due to change climate and therefore to grow fruits such as olives and pomegranates which are called in ayat 6141 we have to live highland regions in Saudi Arabia.
