can anyone think of a verse that asks us not to impose our islamic principles apon non-believers ? Peace, Respectfully. I can'r remember the exact verse and the chapter but God says in The Quran"If they want to believe, let them believe, if they want to disbelieve, let them disbelieve. AlsoThere is no compulsion in the system. AlsoGod can make all people believe, Also God can make all people but few follow satan. God can do ALL. Who are we to force anyone into anything especially belief which isn't seen? Glory be to our God. Peace.

http//www.alketab.com/translations.asp I do worry about these translations as i imagine many if not all are translated as the traditional dominant interpretation. i wonder if in other languages are there a similar amount of interpretations as we see in english. hope they dont all just adhere to the saudi view. i was given a copy once by a saudi as a present of a quran which the government there sponsors to be published. the notes were really embarrassing and the entire interpretation served more as a means to justify saudi law than anything else. unfortunately it is the copy that many non-muslims will read as they are given out for free.

i hadnt noticed that mine is in that "members" are too. i kind of dont mind as much for it being there because even though it can be viewed in the source code, spambot email-trawlers havent picked up on it yet. since my original problem was fixed i have seen a 95% decrease in spam coming into my account. and search engines dont seem to pick up on it there. anyway it would be better to remove it as if someone wants to email me, they can always just pm me and it alerts my email account or they could join quranconnection.com so hope this is fixed too. boomerang its strange that your email appears in your profile. its definitely there, i can see it.... nothing like drawing attention to something your trying to hide! rotfl...yeah really.

I'm not sure if it should be exactly like that one...but as for other news relevant to the site and it's premise, it is a good idea for the mainpage. There is also a news section here where you can discuss such news as one reads from news sites, which would probably be one's best bet for news such as in the link above.

thanks for the welcome dave, it is i think detremental to islam that so many ignorant hadith are regarded as divine regulations. the quran accuses the jewish nation as a people who hindered many from the path of god and compares them to a donkey carrying a vast tome of writings, percieving them not. how are mainstream muslims any different now with all their diabolical laws based on these contrived hadith, fatwas etc? i dont see a difference.
