It is becoming clear to me that the verse in question is directed at the Prophet of Allah since the grammatical structure as pointed out by Br. Bhaghat is in singular form.

Not clear though is Was the Prophet of Allah SINFUL????? May Allah forgive me for such a thought, but then it brings up another question How did his followers during his life time knew that any given time he, the Prophet is not committing a SIN??? I am confused? More help would be appreciated.

Many differenet translations of the subject verse exist, such as

"That Allah may forgive thee thy FAULTS of the past and those to follow; fulfil His favour to thee; and guide thee on the Straight Way;"

or

"So that God may forgive your present SINS, as well as those past, and so that He may complete His blessings upon you, and guide you on a straight path."

or
"So that God may forgive your COMMUNITY'S present sins, as well as those past, and so that He may complete His blessings upon you, and guide you on a straight path."

IS there anyone with sufficient knowledge of the Arabic Language who could help me understand the true meanings of this verse??? Please see that there is a big difference between SINS and FAULTS, or referring it to the Prophet himself or the community???
