  • 4:103 الْمُؤْمِنِينَ EXPOSES SALAT

    Peace Wakas

Thanks a lot for correcting me.

Yes I know the answer and I came to the conclusion only after critical evaluation of 4101/2/3 wherein there is no traveling through the land, and no timed salat.

I am half way on my answer and just trying to perfect it, as and when I am convinced and confident of my answer I will post it.

    Thanks

    Thanx

It does still persist. September 22-23. This is when jews celebrate yom kippur this year. They fast for 25 hours.

Perhaps that's why @noshirk's findings are more accurate?

    that's Ayman's Ijtihad's version...

I am starting to look for @noshirk version which seems more realistic as it confirms Judaism customs...

Please let me know about @noshirk's findings since it interests me as well, especially as it confirms Judaic custom.

I am in flux at the moment about what Ramadan means, between the ijtihads of Rashid Khalifah, then @Layth, @Ayman and now @shirk...

Just now, I tend to believe it is a marker for the beginning of a period, at which it is asked to fast from 3 to 10 days, and Allah knows best what it means.

Also the marker, can also be the period itself.

    Thank you for your answer...

    Peace,

Making Fasting at a specific period came enforced in Madinah, much later than the first revelation, and after the famous verses on fasting got revealed, Muhammad is reported to have fasted 9 official Ramadans.

Please excuse me, but what are the official Ramadans?
And who does say that Muhammad fasted?
    Thank you

Since the Gregorian calendar was in vogue when Muhammad existed, it would be quite possible to calculate exactly which month corresponds with Ramadan, or at least the first month of the Muslim calendar which started after Hijra, wouldn't it?

  • Origin of Religions?
    G GODsubmitter

Based on what I read in the Gospel.. It seems this Jesus character teaches "Eastern Religion" customized for the Jews..
Eastern religion (Buddhism, Taoism, etc..) are focusing on DEEDS and that's why they're being labeled as "DHARMIC" religion (Dharma is a Sanskrit word for deed) in contrast to the western religion which are focusing on FAITH/BELIEF and RITUALS.

Based on the writings in the Gospel; Jesus is focusing on DEEDS in contrast to Rabbanic Judaism who are focusing on RELIGION/RITUALS (Sabbath, beard, headscarf, stoning adulterer, destroying statue/idols, offering/sacrifice, prayer utterance etc..).

"Reap what you sow" is definitely a description of "Karmic" law originated from the east (Hinduism/Buddhism)
"Lead by serving", "Simple life" and "Haughty shall be humbled and humble shall be exalted" are definitely originated from Taoism

Thank you Jafar for the clarification and argumentation.

    Peace,

I agree and this is what I tried to show in my opening post of this thread.

I also feel that rituals are burden but we have to follow it because it is how Allah guided many of us only because of our level towards Him. If we upgrade in our grades/levels then surely Allah makes things easy for us and may remove all the rituals/burden from us. BUT we have to be honest to ourselves and have to follow what Allah has guided us to.

May Allah increase our knowledge and guide us on His path pr
