I think I experienced a punishment from God...@Ronin I am sorry for any late responses, and I appreciate everyone for their responses. My breathing has been better than before. Although I have repented and have remained holding on without wavering, praise God. I am still drenched in guilt and regret. Believe me, I have never been so connected with God than I ever have, majority of my time is keeping my remembrance of Him, but the moment I stop, I start ruminating again and it goes back to the guilt and regret. Then I get really scared if I am angering God because if I start to dwell, am I then not appreciating the present moment that God has offered to me as a way to change my ways? This is the hardest situation I have ever faced.

I think I experienced a punishment from God...@rh_ But look at the next verse, it mentions to repent prior to the punishment. But thank you for your feedback.

I think I experienced a punishment from God...Peace everyone,
I want to share an experience I had which to be honest, I feel really shameful of but I am in a desperate situation. I am hoping to get closer to finding some type of closure as to what happened with me, because to be honest I am so confused.I have had a history of deviating from God's path after acknowledging the truth and I think the major sin that I committed was making oaths with God and not keeping them and doubting God's mercy. I realized now after some serious reflection on why I had this habit of constantly making oaths. Like I said, I think it was due to lack of faith and insecurity that God would not forgive me, and that I had to make these declarations for Him to take me seriously. To continue on, I have had 2 major wake up calls within the last 15 years, but this experience I had really shook me to the core and I am suffering from it deeply.
Back in May of 2025, I did some self reflection and realized that I needed to improve my ways and really buckled down in following the Quran to the best of my abilities, and I did (Salat, staying away from wrong and holding on to what is good, charities, purifying, etc). This went on consistently till the experience I will be sharing. In the end of August, I had a trial (long story) that I faced that really got me down, and for the life of me I did not know why, for 2 days I neglected my Salat (prayer) after being consistent since the start of May of last year. I didn't even question it at the time. I didn't ask God for help, nothing. It was like I was just lost in my thoughts. Again, out of desperation I wanted to make a final oath, even though I told myself I wouldn't do it again because of my history of breaking them, but I wanted relief from this situation I was badly facing. So I made one.
Not even 20 mins later, as I was lying on my bed, what I am about to describe is exactly how I witnessed it and I am not over-exaggerating. It was real. This all occurred within a split second. Do you know how explosions leaving that ripple effect, shockwaves? This is what I saw. It raced towards me along my walls and when it passed me it had compromised my breathing. I could still breathe but it was difficult and because of it, I could not sleep, and this lasted till the next day. Long story short it has been 5 months now, I am striving very hard on the path, gone as far as feeding nearly 300 people for my past broken oaths and still continuing on, praying, reading, and following the Quran to the best of my abilities, but here is the issue...I feel depressed, lack of peace, immense regret to the point of just ruminating on my past mistakes, lost, and angry at myself for what my hands have brought on to me. I am constantly walking on egg shells with God to the point where I question everything if I am doing what pleases Him, even to the point where I have doubts and start to think if I feel any type of discomfort it is because I may have sinned somewhere along the way. It's like I can't enjoy the path of obedience, where before I was feeling the joy and peace in it. There is a verse in the Quran where it mentions why would God want to punish you if you were only thankful and believed? I am always questioning myself, am I being ungrateful or lacking belief where all these changes mean nothing?
My question is, there are 2 verses that really concern me that I hope that I didn't pass the point of no return. Verses like 3:90 and 4:137, where I think to myself would I be denied forgiveness because I had increased in rejection? When I take it at face value, it seems as if you get 3 phases of belief? Or like 6:158 where this experience I had was that certain "sign" where no matter the changes that I have made, would do me no good. I don't know anymore. If I could please get your feedback on your thoughts about my situation and concerns, I would really appreciate it. And please, do not hold back even though I am in a vulnerable state, I want honesty even if it hurts. Thank you.

Messengers amoung us?Peace...
I absolutely don't agree with your explanation of the two crucial verses.. 4361 and 6106...
Isa is not the sign/knowledge of the hour... That's your imagination... Read the verse with its merit and grammar and ponder...
Further messenger to come after Isa has already come for children of Israel.. Who was he is not important but he came and they rejected him....
If you don't agree let me explain further..
Peace Jkhan,
Thank you for sharing your perspective, I appreciate it. You made some valid points.
Peace

Messengers amoung us?Salaam LetTheTruthBeTold,
It could be among us today, but I haven't seen any. Same with you, only proclaimed messengers but not support each other. But I believe that there will come a messenger named Ahmad as told by the Rasul Isa son of Maryam,
616 And when Isa, son of Maryam said "O children of Israel, I am a messenger of God to you, affirming what is between my hands of the Torah and bringing good news of a messenger to come after me whose name will be AHMAD.'" But when he showed them the clear proofs, they said "This is clearly magic."
He will come at the end of time, because the vision of Isa son of Maryam is about things that will happen in the last days, as told in the following verse,
4361 And he <Isa son of Maryam> was a knowledge for the Hour. So have no doubt about it. And follow Me; this is a straight path.
and a lot of story in the book of revelation. I also believe the book of Isaiah also support this.
Isaiah 421-4
Behold! My Servant, Ahmad (whom I uphold); My Elect One, in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles. 2 He shall not cry out, nor raise His voice, nor cause His voice to be heard in the street. 3 A bruised reed shall He not break, and smoking flax shall He not quench. In truth He shall bring forth justice. 4He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till He has established justice in the earth; and the islands shall wait for His law.
In Hebrew, whom I uphold is (Etmokh) אחמד means Ahmad. You can paste it in google translate. I believe they made changes to their book because of inter-religious hatred.
They may think like most people that the Ahmad referred to in verse 616 is the Prophet Muhammad, so leaving Ahmad in Isaiah is tantamount to "acknowledging the truth of the Prophet Muhammad".
Ahmad in the verse is not prophet Muhammad, because even though they both came after the prophet Isa, prophet Muhammad did not live in the last days, while the vision of Isa son of Maryam was covering the things that will happen at the end of time as told in 4361
If you familiar with the Apocrypha books you might be notice that in the Enoch's dream vision said that there will be a sheep with a great horn who will stand tall against evil until the day of judgment.
https//www.sacred-texts.com/bib/boe/boe086.htm
The Book of Enoch
Chapter XC- But behold lambs were borne by those white sheep, and they began to open their eyes and to see, and to cry to the sheep.
- Yea, they cried to them, but they did not hearken to what they said to them, but were exceedingly deaf, and their eyes were very exceedingly blinded.
- And I saw in the vision how the ravens flew upon those lambs and took one of those lambs, and dashed the sheep in pieces and devoured them.
- And I saw till horns grew upon those lambs, and the ravens cast down their horns; and I saw till there sprouted a great horn of one of those sheep, and their eyes were opened.
- And it looked at them , and it cried to the sheep, and the rams saw it and all ran to it.
- And notwithstanding all this those eagles and vultures and ravens and kites still kept tearing the sheep and swooping down upon them and devouring them still the sheep remained silent, but the rams lamented and cried out.
- And those ravens fought and battled with it and sought to lay low its horn, but they had no power over it.
at first, I could recognize this dream vision parable fable style, only from Adam up to prophet Musa and Isa, and still confused for the remaining story. But now I do believe that this last sheep standing is Rasul Ahmad. Rasul that I'm waiting for, who will fight injustice and mark the era of the end times.
I'm sure he doesn't come to give the best interpretation of the Al Quran, or to judge the issues that are often debated by fellow Quranists in here, but he will fight against injustice.
Honestly in my heart I wish I could meet him, support him, and join him.
Peace.
Peace Tilhawa,
Thank you for this thorough response )
This is an interesting perspective. I will definitely look into this.Peace.

Messengers amoung us?Salam, that is my understanding that this ayat is referencing the relatively few truly guided people in our society that publicly call to Allah swt.
Not related to this ayat but a truly guided individual also can gain knowledge from weak believers and even non believer during debate and discussion. One of the rare and hard earned traits of believers is that they can sift through falsehood and pick out the truth. So even a discussion with an atheist, a believer can find the nuggets of truth in their argument and strengthen their Iman. Every interaction with other people is a direct guidance from Allah swt. So we should look out for the signs from Allah in every interaction.
Peace Spoducas, thank you for your reply.
You know what is interesting? I have met 4 proclaimed messengers, and I have not had one them support the other. Each one of them was denying the other messengerahip. Wouldnt you find this to be odd?
Peace

I also think there are messengers amoung us, but I am bit confused on how to approach this situation, when I, already have the Quran. Please feel free to share your thoughts, thank you.

What is Idle/Vain Talk?Thank you Good Logic and Jkhan for your responses, very much appreciated .

The example of the sons of Adam...I am confused on why the son of Adam did not defend himself against his brother's intent to kill, when throughout the Quran The God tells us to fight/defend those who fight against you.
...If you extend your hand towards me to kill me, I will not extend my hand to you to kill you for I fear Allah, the Lord of the Universe. I want you to leave with the sin of killing me and with your own sin then you will be among the people of the Fire. This is the reward of the unjust. His soul made him kill his brother. So he killed him and became one of the losers. S5V27-30
Is it more righteous to not reciprocate like the son of Adam did? Or am I missing something?
Peace

O Children of Adam! When messengers of your own come unto you who narrate unto you My revelations, then whosoever refraineth from evil and amendeth - there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve.Do you understand this verse to mean that there will be messengers amoung us today, and forevermore till the end of time?

What is Idle/Vain Talk?Peace everyone, I hope all of you are doing well.
What is your understanding of vain/idle speech?
Is vain/idle speech just a category which mocking, slandering, gossip, etc, falls into? Or is it a form of evil speech in its own class?
Thank you, peace.
