I think you made a good point when I talk about God and Qur'an, around me people ask if I am a "Muslim". When I try to say "yes" I am a "muslim" (with a "m" not a "M&quot because I "submit" (or try my best to) to God's will, and "no", because "Muslims" follow the authority of hadiths, which I reject, they get confused, and in the end prefer keeping on labeling me as mainstream Muslim, but a Muslim that would not be "totally practicing"...

If we want to reclaim the Qur'an and make it known that we think "Muslims" were led astray, you are right Bigmo, it may be a real problem.

From what I understand of the Qur'an, "adultery" therein relates to any sexual intercourse between two unmarried persons, or at least two persons who are not engaged to each other (to marry).

I'm a Qur'an alone follower. But, as I don't have any problem understanding many verses, others really appear to be somewhat unclear.

I was wondering why the Qur'an, which is supposed to be complete, is somewhat vague on some, apparently, important issues like

-salat many still try to analyze what it really is, and there is still debate, even on the exact number of prayers.

-fast/hajj times Brother Ayman did a wonderful analysis on the subject (I'm personally convinced he found the right interpretation, but that's my point of view and not the problem here), but there is still debate going on.

-where to do the hajj mecca ? Jerusalem ? Any place built for God Alone ?

-the true meanings of "al masjid al haram/ al masjid al aqsa"

-the question of the Qibla physical ? Non-physical ? Mecca ? Jerusalem ?

etc...

If there are all these debates going on, it's because you cannot find in the Qur'an any explicit concise statement and definition that would definitely render impossible any other interpretation. Why the Qur'an, which is VERY specific and concise on some subjects, is quite vague on these ones ?

Are these subjects part of the verses whose true meaning are known to God Alone, as the Qur'an states ? They seem very practical though...

Is it possible that when the Qur'an was revealed, the answers were so obvious to the people that the Qur'an didn't address them ? But God for sure knew that the Qur'an would eventually be recognized and upheld in all parts of the world, by different people speaking different languages and unaware of these answers.

So, the bottom line is I'm quite puzzled here.
