Peace Morningdew, I have a question about the verse 425 in Quran. The message translated the verse to say "protected women". Other people who translated this line say "free believing women". Free meaning unmarried. Protected meaning married. However, it crosses my mind that protected believing women would have a different meaning than simply believing women. Could someone clarify? peace morningdew, i think deducting the interest at the end is fine. its no biggie. anyways, i wanted to say my early understanding of riba is growth within the money. For example, i could let you borrow ?10 and say pay me back ?11 in a month, debt settled, thats fine. BUT if i said borrow ?10 and I'll charge a certian %, say 10%, which GROWS in the money, this is wrong. agreeing a fixed payment is ok, letting it grow (compound interest) is wrong. if anyone has an understanding contrary to this, let me know. thanks.

SHAKIR He said O Nuh! surely he is not of your family; surely he is (the doer of) other than good deeds, therefore ask not of Me that of which you have no knowledge; surely I admonish you lest you may be of the ignorant While the new translation here seems to suggest that maybe his wife was impure? He said ?O Noah, he is not from your family, he was fathered illicitly, so do not ask what you have no knowledge of. I advise you not to be of the ignorant.? Any comments here?

Quran 651 O you prophet, if any of you have divorced the women, then they should be divorced while ensuring that their required interim is fulfilled, and keep count of the interim. You do not know that Allah may after that bring about reunion. The verse 651 in Quran is stating that woman should not leave their houses when they are being divorced. Is this the meaning of this statement in the verse? Or does it mean that women are not to be put out of their home unless they have committed "indency"? Or does it mean if they leave their homes during divorce they have committed indency? Can anyone help?

Peace be upon you Rizwan, I am well, thank you. I hope you are enjoying peace as well. I have been doing a lot of thinking about salaat, I am not far from where we left off however. Please give me your understanding of it at this time.

Peace. I was just thinking about all this new found information I am receiving from this site and the thought has occurred to me why most Arab Muslims still find fault with us American muslims even after years of ritual salat and fasting and wearing hajab(for women) and so on. It is because they are right! We still don't get it! We are still thinking of 5x's salat and missing the true meaning of salat. When we look at salat as meaning committments/obligations then we can easily realize that means our marriages and our children and other commitments. American Muslims are more easy to leave a marriage then work on fixing it. And if one worked on fixing it that would mean one has honored commitments/obligations. Would it not? And another thought has also entered my mind. Arab Muslims obviously know that is what salat means. But, for the most part it is hidden from people. Anyway, these are just thoughts. But, I will keep on till I learn what Quran is really saying to us.
