Next time please show some respect and tolerance, i did not disrespected any one.Every one on this forum would agree that what i said is a fact, so face it.

As for me it does not matter whether a chiristian , a hindu or a jew come and pray inside my mosque or a sunni perform his 5 times salaat as GOD's message is far above any ritual any one performs.If for once we could understand the true meaning of aqimus salaat wa atuz zakaat, we would have a completely different approach.

Many thanks for your replies but my question is still not answered, I inquired that if any one who performs salaat could direct me to the quranic verses which gives the details of how to perform salaat ul fajr/isha.Lets suppose if u r performing salaat ul fajr than u would start with ablution which could be found in surah 5 ayah number 6.Similarly when u prepare for salaat u must face kaaba so i need to know where in quran this instruction is given, again if u raise your hands to say allah o akbar or allah o kabir than where is that instruction than if u fold your hands or u just stand still and so on including how many rakaats to perform.

Nice Idea but in our community we have our own problems sarting with Salaat.As we both believe in quran alone , I dont perform salaat as I cannot find any details pertaining to it unless i use some outside source.Then there are those who also believe in quran alone and perform salaat 5 times a day.So we have our own conflicts which we first need to solve among our self

After rejecting sunnism few of my relatives dont come to meet us, they think me and my wife are now KAFIR so they cannot drink or eat anything in our home.They have given a fatwa that our marriage is not legal , our children are not legal and that we have to again embraced islam to be be muslim again.Good that we have moved to Hong Kong so not so much of fuss but still when i talk to my mother she keeps on crying over the phone making me realise that i should go back to their way of worship !!!!!!!!!!! aaahhhhh things been too difficult

Allen, I approach these concepts a bit different. There is still much to be investigated, but i don't agree with the conevtional concepts of Hajj. Like where does it say anti-clockwise? Or even walk around it in circles? These are non-Quranic rituals. If i say, let's walk around the city, does this mean i'm circumbulating the city? No, this refers to move in the concepts around it. Also the House Abraham build refers to the System, the Deen he build. Kaaba means base/foundation if i'm not mistaken, and so translated the verse that says kaaba, would say

597 God has made the foundation, the Sacred House(The Deen), a means of support for mankind, as also the holy month, the sacrificial offerings, and consecrated cattle, so that you may understand that known to God is all that is in the heavens and the earth, and God has knowledge of everything.

Also, where is kaaba/foundation connected with bowing? Masjid means place of prostration, which can be anywhere where people bow to God's laws, this includes your mind being masjid al-haram. Qibla means focus, so these verses refer to focus on implying God's laws in the land and your mind by my view.

2115 says God is everywhere, no particulair place is needed to direct ourselves too i believe. I do agree on facing the same direction, but this is already included with 4102, where it is ordered to stand with them.

Hajj is one of the most twisted conceptions in Islam. It refers to a debate between ALL the people of the world. Hajj literaly means debate and ?determination for a noble cause?.

2196 (Peace cannot defend itself. Mankind has to guard it.) Therefore, observe the Hajj or Umrah Convention for Allah. If you are stranded, send in gifts that the congregation would utilize. Do not consider that by doing so you have relieved yourself of duty. Be with them at heart until the gifts have reached their destination. If someone is sick or has other compelling burdens denying him sending any contribution, then Abstinence for a few days at convenience, or an act of charity or fulfilling someone?s need shall be in order. If a person is present at the Convention but cannot afford to contribute, he should exercise Abstinence for a total number of ten days, three days there and seven days after coming home. This is for him whose folk do not live in the vicinity of the Convention. Be mindful of Allah, remembering the noble objective. And know that Allah's Law of Requital is strict in pursuing and grasping.

2197 The Convention shall take place in the months appointed for it and made well known to all. Whoever participates in the Convention shall refrain from sexual intimacy, slipping out of discipline and argumentation throughout Hajj. And whatever you accomplish for the good of mankind, Allah will acknowledge it. So make ample provision, yet the best provision is your good conduct. Be mindful of Me, O You of understanding!

There is still much to be researched. But i thought i would share it with you....

First of all many thanks for your great input on all topics that r being discussed on free minds.I really appreciate your in depth knowledge and have learnt a lot from you.Please allow me to learn more on this site as I am no expert nor have enough knowledge to argue with any one of you.My above post is my understanding as I could not believe why GOD want us to go through this ( FASTING ) ritual when there is no other ritual in his religion.

Coming back to your question in 2185 " Those of you who witness this month shall fast therein " my understanding is that GOD is referring to THOSE ( person or group of people who have violated any one of above mentioned laws ).

Lets understand this by an example

I am that person whom GOD is talking about in 589

OATH VIOLATION

GOD does not hold you responsible for the mere utterance of oaths; He holds you responsible for your actual intentions. If you violate an oath, you shall atone by feeding ten poor people from the same food you offer to your own family, or clothing them, or by freeing a slave. If you cannot afford this, then you shall fast three days. This is the atonement for violating the oaths that you swore to keep. You shall fulfill your oaths. GOD thus explains His revelations to you, that you may be appreciative.

Now as per 2185 I am that person who has to fast when I witness the month of scorching heat or in other way when I witness the month of Ramadan.Since I have violated an oath my punishment is to fast 3 days if I cannot feed ten poor people , or cloth them or free a slave.

WHY WE HAVE TO FAST ????????????

It may sound weired to most of you but after going through most or all of the verses in the great reading I could not find one clear verse which tell us to fast.I will put below the verses to show that actually fasting is a punishment from GOD for disobeying his laws.We can start with

Ramadan is the month during which the Quran was revealed, providing guidance for the people, clear teachings, and the statute book. Those of you who witness this month shall fast therein. Those who are ill or traveling may substitute the same number of other days. GOD wishes for you convenience, not hardship, that you may fulfill your obligations, and to glorify GOD for guiding you, and to express your appreciation.

In the above verse we can see that GOD is addressing to a group of people by referring to THOSE OF YOU and not ALL OF YOU.Had he meant the entire population to fast he would have clearly asked everyone of us to fast in the month of Ramadan.We would see in the following verse that who are THOSE people whom GOD is asking to fast.

BREAKING STATE OF IHRAAM

You shall observe the complete rites of Hajj andUmrah for GOD. If you are prevented, you shall send an offering, and do not resume cutting your hair until your offering has reached its destination. If you are ill, or suffering a head injury (and you must cut your hair), you shall expiate by fasting, or giving to charity, or some other form of worship. During the normal Hajj, if you break the state of Ihraam (sanctity) between Umrah and Hajj, you shall expiate by offering an animal sacrifice. If you cannot afford it, you shall fast three days during Hajj and seven when you return home - this completes ten - provided you do not live at the Sacred Masjid. You shall observe GOD, and know that GOD is strict in enforcing retribution

In 2196 God is asking those people to fast who are prevented from performing Hajj or Umrah ( there is saperate debate on this issue ) and also those people who breaks the state of Ihraam.Now we move to another verse

KILLING A BELIEVER

No believer shall kill another believer, unless it is an accident. If one kills a believer by accident, he shall atone by freeing a believing slave, and paying a compensation to the victim's family, unless they forfeit such a compensation as a charity. If the victim belonged to people who are at war with you, though he was a believer, you shall atone by freeing a believing slave. If he belonged to people with whom you have signed a peace treaty, you shall pay the compensation in addition to freeing a believing slave. If you cannot find* a slave to free, you shall atone by fasting two consecutive months, in order to be redeemed by GOD. GOD is Knower, Most Wise

We can clearly see in 492 that again GOD is referring to those people who are unable to pay compensation and yet have to fast for two consecutive months.

KIILING GAME DURING PILGRIMAGE
O you who believe, do not kill any game during pilgrimage. Anyone who kills any game on purpose, his fine shall be a number of livestock animals that is equivalent to the game animals he killed. The judgment shall be set by two equitable people among you. They shall make sure that the offerings reach the Ka`bah. Otherwise, he may expiate by feeding poor people, or by an equivalent fast to atone for his offense. GOD has pardoned past offenses. But if anyone returns to such an offense, GOD will avenge it. GOD is Almighty, Avenger.

ESTRANGE THEIR WIVES AS MOTHERS

Those among you who estrange their wives (by declaring them as forbidden in sex) as their mothers know full well that they are not their mothers.* Their mothers are the women who gave birth to them. Indeed, they are committing a blasphemy and a falsehood. GOD is Pardoner, Forgiver.
Those who estrange their wives in this manner, then reconcile thereafter, shall atone by freeing a slave before resuming their sexual relations. This is to enlighten you. GOD is Cognizant of everything you do.

If you cannot find a slave to free, you shall fast two consecutive months before resuming sexual relations. If you cannot fast, then you shall feed sixty poor people. You shall believe in GOD and His messenger. These are GOD's laws. The disbelievers have incurred a painful retribution.

With reference to above verses we can see a pattern where GOD is asking those people who have violated above laws to fast for respective days.This also gives us a clear picture of 2184 where GOD is mentioning SPECIFIC DAYS these specific days are 10days , 3 days and 60 days depending on the violation committed.

May be my opinion defers with rest of the people on free minds but this is my understanding , please give your views and suggestions

Just read an article given my Junaid Jumshed , a very renowed singer fom Pakistan who abandoned music and now preaching islam ( sunni way ).According to him it took him six years of research, and the ayat that convinced him that music is haram is given below
Among the people, there are those who uphold baseless Hadith, and thus divert others from the path of GOD without knowledge, and take it in vain. These have incurred a shameful retribution.

The arabic word "lahwalhadith" is described by hazrat abdullah bin abbas who is considered the biggest scholar of quran and todate no one even comes close to his calibre of explaining the quran, so according to him the word lahwalhadith is translated as music and its instruments.

In justifying the above he quoted a Hadith that hazra abdullah bin abbas says that during prophet time a businessman brought a tawaif ( women performing dance and singing ) to distract those who go to prophet place or mosque to listen quran.So he approched those men and tell them that muhammad ask you to pray 5 times , keep fast and go for jihad in which its pain and difficulty whereas I ask u to come to my house and listen to music which is all fun.

So according to Junaid jumshed this is the reason why the Sunni School of thought has banned music and consider it haram cause it distract you from remembring GOD.

Yes we do , but we have tolerance when it comes to other religions , whereas in Sunni's school of thought i should be killed for converting from sunnism to believing in quran only.The point I was making is that tolerance shown by Sri Ravi which was very much non existence from Dr Zakir Naik

Yesterday I was watching this discussion between Dr Zakir Naik and Sri Ravi Shankar.The topic in discussion was GOD with an audience of over 20000 asking questions.The main difference between both moderators was the manner in which they were answering the questions , I was really impressed by the way Sri Ravi shankar was replying to the taunting questions from our muslim brothers, he was very polite , very sincere although the audience tried their best to make him angry but he stuck to his task in saying that I am not here to get converted to islam , from head to heart I have accepted my religion.Even Dr Zakir Naik was taunting Sri Ravi by quoting verses from Vedat and other books that Muhammad was even prophesized in their religion.

The worst part is that our Sunni/Shia brothers think that they are guided and on the right path and all others have bought tickets to go to hell.

Brother as per your reply, is it true that we never had any say in our creation, we are all part of GOD's plan without our say.Why people in ETHOPIA are suffering, why a 10yr old child is killed in a bomb blast.How can these people would develop there soul for the next universe.

The big question is WHY?

Your explanation from creators point of view is perfectly right but I am arguing from creations point.For eg. if u create a glass u would pore milk , water etc in that glass be it HOT or COLD.Now one day the glass asks u that why did u created me, whether i had a choice not to be part of all this.

Does this makes any sense that GOD has still not collected enough data to see the result of his human creation and after millions of years he is still sending more and more.
