It says its written by Queen Rania of Jordan.

The exact same article, word to word is on Submission.org's site here http//www.submission.org/dress.html and it says the article is written by someone by the name of Ahmed Okla.

Just wondering who is the real author?

This article which was claimed that it was written by Queen rania Wrote in Alarab Times which is against Jordan Kingdom and Jordan Leaders, So it is impossible for Queen Rania to write in this newspaper.

recently I have seen a talk show of this guy and it seems he kinda replaced ahmed deedat and very influencial. He has been appearing on media alot. What do you ppl think of his speach ?

I think his speach might be very influential to the traditionalist and morderanized sunnis. I didnt like him saying the liberty of womens in western country are exploitation of body or degrading soul.

Peaceful submission is a way of life, religions are sects, what does the God say about SECTS?

I think our God discourage the idea of sectarianism .he said in his great holy book Quraan

Those who divide themselves into sects do not belong with
you. Their judgment rests with GOD, then He will inform
them of everything they had done.

(Do not fall in idol worship,) like those who divide
their religion into sects; each party rejoicing with what
they have.

Ironically, they broke up into sects only after the
knowledge had come to them, due to jealousy and
resentment among themselves. If it were not for a
predetermined decision from your Lord to respite them for
a definite interim, they would have been judged
immediately. Indeed, the later generations who inherited
the scripture are full of doubts..

Thus striving in the way of Allah can be both peaceful and physical. The Prophet Muhammed (saws) said "The best jihad is (by) the one who strives against his own self for Allah, The Mighty and Majestic"

What is quoted above as having said by the prophet infact does not speak about the physical jihad. Jehad can never be physical. According to Quran there is no categorization of jehads. Above, the prophet was misquoted or misinterpreted. By the way, is it necessary that we write the 'quotes' of the people who claim their own utterrances as muhammad's sayings? It is better if we avoided such things as hadiths.-

What do you mean by (Islam is not a religion but the righteous way from error)??

The root of the word Jihad in the Arabic language is Jihad which means give more effort to do some thing , and when we resisting our desire to do unacceptable things in Islam ( such as harming others , lies ,drink Alcohol......) we are actually Mojahedeen against our desire to do bad things which is influence others and our self negatively .

Also when we resist the unjustice and oppression of others and help the poor and the weak people we are practice AlJehad ,and this is what our prophet did at the beginning of Al Islam .

I agree with the basis of this thread so far, but I question

When the companions of the Prophet Muhammed (saws) went out for the offensive jihad against the Egyptians, the Persians and the Romans, we find that the people did not resist against them at all.

What is the offensive Jihad? And why is it being potrayed from the hadiths other than the God's hadith that every other place (Egyptians, persians, and Romans) were misguided? Why does one that is claimed to be from MECCA, have to go all around the world, don't they have thier own messengers who speak thier own language?

Despite of your condemnable questions ,I will answer them to reflect my principles and values.

The main reason for offensive jihad was that the message of Islam influenced the desire to dominate and to overpower of rich people and leaders upon poor and ordinary people.

At the beginning of Islam, many leaders at that times( Even the rich people of Macca) prevented their people from taking their own decision to enter Islam if they believed in it, so Mohammed (PUH) called those leaders to leave their people to take their own decision to accept Islam or reject it, but they refused and started to prepare for attacking Muslims because they saw that he was very dangerous upon them and their authorities, because Islam call for Justice and equality .

Those are some verses From My Holy Book Quraan explain the real conditiones of Al Jehad in Islam .

"Fight in the cause of God those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for God loveth not transgressors. (The Noble Quran, 2190)"

"But if the enemy incline towards peace, do thou (also) incline towards peace, and trust in God for He is One that heareth and knoweth (all things). (The Noble Quran, 861)"

"If thou dost stretch thy hand against me, to slay me, it is not for me to stretch my hand against thee to slay thee for I do fear God, the cherisher of the worlds. Noble Quran528

"God does not forbid you from showing kindness and dealing justly with those who have not fought you about religion and have not driven you out of your homes. God loves just dealers". Noble Quran 608

"And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for God. But if they desist, then let there be no hostility except against wrongdoers. (The Noble Quran 2193)"

"Let there be no compulsion in religion Truth stands out clear from error whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy handhold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things. (The Noble Quran, 2256)"

One who is sincerely searching for the truth, will do it no other way. The very name Islam comes from the Arabic root word 'salam' which means peace. Islam is a religion which is based upon achieving peace through the submission to the will of Allah. Thus, by this very simple linguistic definition, one can ascertain as to what the nature of Islam is.

If Islam is based on the notion of peace, then how is it that so many acts done by its adherents are contrary to peace? The answer is simple. Such actions, if not sanctioned by the religion, have no place with it. They are not Islamic and should not be thought of as Islamic.

the meaning of jihad, as a 'holy war', is something which is totally foreign and not from Islam. It was terms like this which were used to justify the slaughter and pillage of towns and cities during the crusades by the Christians. By simply looking into the sources of Islam, one is able to know that the true meaning of jihad is to strive/make effort in the way of Allah. Thus striving in the way of Allah can be both peaceful and physical. The Prophet Muhammed (saws) said
"The best jihad is (by) the one who strives against his own self for Allah, The Mighty and Majestic"

In the Qur'an, Allah also says
"So obey not the disbelievers, but make a great jihad (effort) against them (by preaching) with it (the Qur'an)"
(Surah Al-Furqan 2552)

By controlling and fighting against ones desires, the Muslims can then also physically exert themselves in the path of Allah. It is this physical jihad which receives so much criticism. Because of the sheer ignorance, of this type of jihad Islam is regarded as terror, and Muslims are regarded as terrorists.

There are another type of Jehad which came from the same idea that people must fight for peace which is combative jihad being both defensive and offensive, it is something which is commanded by Allah upon the Muslims. Through this command the oppressed and weak are rescued from the tyranny of the world
"And what is the matter with you that you do not fight in the cause of Allah and for those weak, ill treated and oppressed among men, women and children whose only cry is; 'Our Lord, rescue us from this town whose people are oppressors and raise for us from you one who will protect and raise for us from you one who will help"
(Surah An-Nisa 475)

Anyone who knows the early history of Islam, will know that all those nations and empires which came under the fold of Islam were indeed previously oppressed. When the companions of the Prophet Muhammed (saws) went out for the offensive jihad against the Egyptians, the Persians and the Romans, we find that the people did not resist against them at all.
We should know that the first call for Jehad in Islam came when they were tortured and suffered by the autocracy of Macca people (Mushrekeen) many years ,they didn?t resist these conditions because they thought that Allah wouldn?t give them the permeation to fight. But Allah give them the permeation to defense themselves and to help other suffering people .

I know that many non mouslims and sometimes mouslims didn't understand what this word "Al Jehad " actually means .So I'm interest to know what is the perceptions of the members of this forum about Al Jehad in Islam ?
