QURAN AND ALCOHOL
I am new to this website, i find it very interesting and thought provoking. There are a lot of young people on this forum. I am getting the impression that they are very liberal in their thinking, sure they are definitely not traditionalists.
Alcohol is mentioned in a number of places in this website, but to state alcohol is not forbidden is I think a bit strong to say the least. The following three ayats talk about alcohol. The three ayats came in the order i have listed them in, if you look at the last ayat, i believe it is a question that is asked of you to choose after the facts have been said.
Any comments or views
It is stated in the Qur??n ?They ask you regarding wine and gambling. Say, in both of them is major sin, and there is some benefit for men, but the sin of them is far greater than benefit ?
(Surah Baqarah)
There is little benefit but the potentiall of great/major sin.
?O Believers? do not approach Sal?h while intoxicated.? (Surah Nisaa)
Miss salah or be intoxicated ?
"O you who believe! Intoxicants, gambling, idolatry and arrows (for seeking help on decision) one an abomination of order that you may be successful.
Shaytan seeks only to cast amongst you enmity and hatred by means of strong drink and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allah and from his worship, will you then not refrain? ?
(Surah Ma?idah 90)
Allah in his wisdom, firstly disclosed the evils in alcohol, then prohibited it at Sal?h times and finally declares "will you not then refrain ?."
Salaam brothers and sisters,
It is with great shame that I admit I have commited adultry, I have prayed for forgiveness, I am full of remorse for these actions, what else can i do to seek forgiveness ? is there anything else I can do ?
