  • Polygyny - a new understanding from Quran?
    S S29

You are such a confused person. The subject was whether polyandry are allowed and now you try to teach me that a man can only have sex with his own wife and not someone else wife! from a verse. Well GOODMORNING! And as i said earlier in Arabic masculine is not really masculine since its for both males and females except when anything else is clearly mentioned.

I have read the quran many times and i can see that so has you since you have failed to present a verse which prohibts polyandry..

    Return to the subject please

    Peace

Example of basic logic which differentiates the human from animal

    • A dog is tracking comes to a fork in the road sniffs path 1 = FALSE
    • It does not logically reason that if not path 1 then path 2 = TRUE
    • No, it also needs to sniff path 2, be shown for it to register TRUE

    Peace!

I am sorry to say it, but you are a very confused person. You mention this verse 2187 permitted to you night the fasting the sexual relations with your women And you say that this verse applies for men only? Then does it mean that women cannot have sexual relationship with their husbands in the night of the fasting? You are contradicting the verse. Your women means your women but since it also applies for women it also means your men otherwise it would mean that only a husband can have sex with her wife in the night but the wife cannot have sex with him in the night confused
So it applies for both men and women.

Read accurately, it says exactly what it says?

2187 permitted to you (i.e. plural addresses all believing men) night the fasting the sexual relations with your females/women/wives? (Possessive pronoun)

It says that each man can only have sex with their women not with another man?s wife same as all believing males are addressed and prohibited from having sex with their relations.

423 prohibited on you your mothers and your daughters and your sisters and your father?s sisters and your mother?s sisters...
424 and the untouchable from the females only what possess your right hand/oaths

And again your are running in circles with the inheritance verses. And yes its written that a woman inherits half of what a man inherits, and whats your point with that? Are you trying to say that a woman is half worth of a man or whats your point?

My point was to show you precisely that words like nisa can only apply to females and never to males and it?s not always true that a woman inherits half that of a man which depends on the inheritors e.g. siblings (412) share equally 1/6, 1/3 or parents (411) equally 1/6 or the only daughter and two sons; she always gets 1/2 or double the amount of 1/4 that each of the two sons would receive.

Read Qur?an and follow exactly what is written.

    Peace!

  • Polygyny - a new understanding from Quran?
    S S29

    Peace,

It seems like you regard the quran as being a book to men and not to women. Do you think God is only the God of men and not of women?

    No.

Now let me teach you simple arabic gramma, my dear friend. First of all, in arabic if you have a group of 1000 females and if even ONE boy joins the group of thousand women, the group would be regarded masculin. In other words when you talk to many people - males and females - in arabic(plural) then you would refer to them as men. For instance if I see 5 people and ONE of them is a boy and FOUR of them are girls, I would talk with them as they were all boys. In arabic the masculin words applies for both males and females while the feminine words applies for women exclusively

That is why most of the quran in most cases use masculin words - and hence quran is almost impossible to translate to another language especially english who has a whole different gramma. And thats the problem when people like you use translation and hence miss all the point.
Everything regarded to males in the quran also applies for women except when otherwise is clearly mentioned.

Therefore the above verse you quoted applies for both men and women. So men are also a tillage for women who we(women) can approach whenever we like and as we like.

So yes, a woman who is married to 4 men can approach all her husbands as she likes and when she likes and her men can also approach her when they like. AND NO THIS IS NOT A PERMISSION FOR RAPE.

No. What you are referring is to are specific words used in specific context and reason I pointed you toward the inheritance verses which clearly define the terms e.g. rijlan can be 99 females and one male; likewise 4176 states " and if they are ikh'watan/brethren rijlan/men and women wanisan " which applies for all combinations of mixed siblings apply " so to the male like share the two females " and likewise ikh'watan also 411 is at least two people, one is male otherwise you have a contradiction with an excess on distributions to the case of deceased kalala with a sister and mother which each gets half.

Nisikum (your females/women/wives) cannot apply or mean as your males/men/husbands in Qur?an.

Yes a group is addressed, yet possessive, i.e. each individuals? nisikum not someone else?s as in 411 directs you Allah in your children ? not those belonging to someone else.

2187 permitted to you night the fasting the sexual relations with your women

Simply try finding a contradicting verse where nisa applies to males ? you cannot, Qur?an is clear on this.

4176 they seek your ruling say Allah gives you a ruling in the kalala if a person died is not to that person an offspring and to that person a sister so for her half what left the deceased and he inherits if not is to her an offspring so if they are two females so to them the two thirds from what left the deceased and if they are brethren men and women so to the male like share the two females clarifies Allah to you lest you stray and Allah in every thing Knowing

Please come up with some relevant verses next time. I know you have some inner problem with females having multiple partners, but the reality is that what God has not forbid we can not forbid it either.

People can choose any fetish, not my issue; so based on your logic

4 men can simultaneously marry 4 women and they the same 4 men
4 men can simultaneously have sex with any wife at the same times

2187 permitted to you night the fasting the sexual relations with your women
2223 your women a tillage for you so approach your tilt how you like

    S S29

    Peace,

Ps I? am only talking about that it?s forbidden for a woman to have 2 or more husbands at the same time, I? am not talking about how many wives a man can have.

Nice post; sometimes people forget Qur'an is a logical book which exercises the brain teaches reasoning.

Which age do you live in ?We have DNA test which shows who the father is. So a wife with many husbands can easily know who the father is and hence neither paternity or inheritance is a problem since children can inherit from both father and mother, similar to when a man merry several husbands.

?Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive? -- Walter Scott

Or this case acting as "Mickey the Dunce" suggesting inheritance verses were not applicable 1400 years?

do you consider women to be inferior to men in managing inheritance responsibilities?

No, usually women are at an advantage getting more than their brothers especially an only daughter.

The verses you showed me did not said anything about how many husband's a girl can have. The first said that a woman has to wait some month if she wants to marry again. But a woman with multiple husbands is already married if one dies hence it does not apply for her. And secondly there was a verse who said that if a man divorce his wife she may first marry another husband and than they can unite. That can be applied both on women with one or more husbands. for Instance a woman has 4 husbands and one divorce her. He can not marry her before she marry another man again and hence again has 4 husban, the main point is that another man takes his place. I can show you similar verses which describes a man with only one spouse. So my question remains can you show me some verse where god forbids a woman to marry multiple husbands?

Example woman dies leaving parents, 3 daughters, and 3 husbands plus 1 husband she divorced.

Genetic tests prove that one current husband fathered 1 girl; another fathered the 2nd and the 3rd girl was from the 4th husband whom she divorced while still married to the others after waiting to give birth.

654 and those who have despaired from the menstruation from your women if you doubt so their waiting period three lunar cycles and those who not menstruated and those the pregnant their term that giving birth their loads and from fears Allah He make to him from his directive ease

Explain why women in menopause and the pregnant have to wait -- wait before they can do what?

Disburse payments according to Qur'an for above case without contradiction. Everything needed is here.

411 directs you Allah in your children to the male like share the two females so if are females above two so for them two thirds what left and if was one so for her the half and for their parents to each one from them the sixth from what left if is to them child so if not is to them child and inherited them their parents so to his mother the third so if is to them brethren so to his mother the sixth from after a will have made in it or judgment your parents and your children not you know which of them closer to you benefit obligation from Allah indeed Allah is Knowing Wise

412 and for you half what left your spouse?s if not is for them child so if is for them child so for you the fourth from what they left from after a will they made in it or judgment and for them the fourth from what you left if not is to you child so if is to you child so for them the eight from what you left from after a will you made in it or judgment and if is a man inherited kalala or a woman and them a brother or a sister so for each one from them the sixth so if they are more from that so they partners in the third from after a will is recommended in it or judgment not harmful a will from Allah and Allah Knowing Forbearing

Again you are talking without evidence. It is your personal opinion that women should not marry multiple husbands and not the view of quran. Again i am challenging you to show me where quran prohibits a woman from marry four husbands. Your personal opinion means nothing. And are you talking about inheritance then her husbands and kids would get everything divided justly just like when a man has multiple wives.

Peace -- I've already shown you evidence in the prior post and will show you more.

Example 4 husbands, 1 wife, 3 daughters (who fathered them undetermined)

    1. the one husband dies; should the wife immediately abandon the other 3 husbands and wait?

2234 and the ones who die from you and leave spouses should wait by themselves four lunar cycles and ten (cycles) so when they reach their term so not blame on you in what they do in themselves in fair manner and Allah in what you do Aware

    1. the deceased husband has brothers and sisters, do they get anything?

    2. do the daughters get anything, how do you know if they are his or not?

Seems like you consider women to be inferiors to men. Do you have something against women since you accuse them of not being able to handle responsibility? Again next time show me evidence from quran in stead of your own anti-
    Women fantasies.

Not sure where you got that idea; all my fantasies toward women are positive. laugh

    S S29

Well regarding quran than there is no verse who Says that a woman can marry only one. So there are no quranic reason for prohibiting polyandry.

    Peace,

Why ask clarification and when given, keep posting the same -- was this not clear?

Consider all verses on divorce and inheritance becomes a hairball woman married multiple to husbands.

2230 so if he divorces her so not lawful to him from after until she marries a spouse other than him so if he divorces her so not sin on them that they return back if they think that they keep limits Allah and these limits Allah He makes clear for people who know

412 and for you half what left your spouses if not is for them child so if is for them child so for you the fourth from what they left ...

Also consider who is the father of the child?
Also consider distributions to all husbands?

Example a woman with 4 husbands (not permitted) and 4 children 2 boys and 2 girls (fathers not determined) leaves property; please divide according to Qur'an, how much each husband gets 1/2 or 1/4 and how to determine if for them a child and which husband fathered which child and what's left to give the the children or for her parents if alive?

Qur'an does not force anyone to marry anyone or stay married to anyone and gives guidance clearly permissible for a man to marry multiple women and clearly not permissible for a woman to marry more than one man at time and there is a waiting period after divorce to ensure there is no pregnancy before she can remarry or even let her guard down e.g. breast feeds her child around another man.

Simply read the book triangulate the information and use logic before making inaccurate statements.

    S S29

    Peace,

That you shall be just with orphans even when you marry them of. You can not marry one orphan off to a handsome rich young guy and marry another orphan off to a old man or you can not be stingy with one orphan regarding marriage expenses while showing generosity to another orphan regarding marriage expenses etc. But if you fear that you discriminate between them then marry just one orphan off or the domestic people in your area since the quran in other places encourages single people to
Marry. So marry other people off who cannot afford to marry is kindness and charity.

I thought my prior post was clear on this, perhaps to clarify further

    1. so marry what choice to you from the females NOT marry them off
    2. which males have authority to marry them off since they are orphans and fatherless?
    3. verse says to marry mothers of orphans (children both males and females)
    4. once orphans reach maturity they may marry whom they wish, their choice
    5. a woman cannot marry two men at same time, a man can marry women exception sisters

422 and not marry whom married your fathers from the females only what has passed indeed it was immorality and abomination and an evil way

423 forbidden on you your mothers and your daughters and your sisters and your father?s sisters and your mother?s sisters and daughters the brothers and daughters the sisters and mothers the ones who nursed you and your sisters from the nursing and mothers your women and your step daughters the ones who in your guardianship from your women the ones who entered in them so if not you had entered in them so not sin on you and wives your sons the ones who from your loins and that you gathered between the two sisters only what has passed indeed Allah is Forgiving Merciful

  • When should I fast?
    S S29

    Peace,

"Laylat Al-Qadr" is tied to the month of Ramadhan, and the month of Ramadhan is tied to being "witnessed".

So, if a person is unable to "witness" this month, then he is not required to fast.

Witness as physical senses/sensors; sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste does not account for when it is cloudy or other obstructions or the blind or those with poor sight. More precise is affirmation as used below; an intent made in the present to fast in the future.

2185 shr ramadan the one which sent down in it the Qur?an guidance to the mankind and clear signs from the guidance and the criterion so who affirms from you the shr so he should fast it and from is illness or on journey so count from days other intends Allah for you the ease and not intends for you the hardship and you complete the count and to magnify Allah on what He guided you and that you may give thanks

    Peace,

43 And if you fear that you are not fair with the orphans, then marry them off...

Who has authority to marry them off especially underage fatherless orphan girls?

Perhaps like this modern day story an old woman told how when she was only 12 years old her parents told her to dressed up because they were going to attend a wedding so she got all excited it being her first party ever and they drove to a village hours away and upon arrival her mother told her "this is your wedding!" and they left her there with the older bridegroom -- is that what is meant by marry them off?

43 and if you fear that not you will be able to do justice in the orphans so marry what choice to you from the females twos and three and four so if you fear that not you can do justice so one or what possess your right hand that minimum that not you oppress

    Questions/Comments on the Quran

  • The Night of Decree is on December 21st or the 22nd
    S S29

    Peace Dear Layth,

    Dear S29,

There are no contradictions in the Quran my friend. God tells us that one night in the year is "special" - and that the angels and spirit are sent down with decrees on that night

971 We have sent it down in the Night of Decree.
972 And do you know what is the Night of Decree?
973 The Night of Decree is better than one thousand months.
974 The angels and the Spirit come down in it with the permission of
their Lord to carry out every matter.
975 It is peaceful until the coming of dawn.

The verses you have quoted speak of the angels and the spirit "ascending" towards God on J-Day that has been made equivalent to 50,000 years.

The 2 subjects are not the same.

No, what you wrote about winter solstice contradicts Qur'an. Chapter 97 is about a night that Qur'an was revealed; it being the only night they descend conjecture. If they "descend" during revelation and "ascent" 50,000 years in the future then if approximate year of revelation is 610 CE, Judgment Day is year 50,610 CE or 50,610 - 2011 = 48,599 years from now.

Why interpret 50k sunnah as years or 50k rotations of the earth around the sun?

The sunnah/timeframe person based on cosmic events e.g. 1,000 earth rotations on axis is 1,000 days.

2247 and they ask you to hasten in the punishment and never fails Allah His Promise and indeed a day with your Lord thousand timeframe from what you reckon

The sunnah/timeframe/way Allah is 1,000 our sunnah/timeframe/way i.e. Day is 1,000 people days.

701 asked a questioner about a punishment and real
702 to the disbelievers is not to it any preventer
703 from Allah owner the ways of ascent
704 ascent the angels and The Spirit to Him in day is its measure fifty thousand timeframe
705 so be patient a patience beautiful
706 indeed they see it far
707 and We see it soon

    (50,000 x (1,000 days)) / (12 month) = 136,895.463 solar years creation of man to punishment.
Humanity/thinking man who spoke (Adam) has not been on earth greater than the above time.

The above last part I am still not sure about since there was no reference given to human time.

    Peace

  • The Night of Decree is on December 21st or the 22nd
    S S29

    Peace,

To my utter surprise it turns out that Dr.Rashad Khalifa did indeed receive messengership on December 21st 1971?..The longest night during the year(in the northern hemisphere)

    Could this be a coincidence?

Of course no coincidence that you were aroused. You believe his claim to resemble deceased prophet, and other absurdities, and you conjectured then did the look up; if not successful you would have simply skipped it similar to how those obsessed with numerology ignore all failures like drug addicts in denial look for the next fix/buzz.

Example, they read hadith revelation started in 610 CE
? 23 years (not multiple, ignore)
    ? 610 / 19 = 32.1052632 (not multiple, ignore)
    ? 1974 / 19 = 103.894737 (not multiple, ignore)
    ? (1974 - 610 = 1364) / 19 = 71.78947371974 (not multiple, ignore)

    Convert to lunar years ((1974 - 610 = 1364) x 12 months = 365.242199 days) / (12 lunar months = 354.36708 days) = 1405.85959 then round to 1406 and bingo! 1406 / 19 = 74

Your observation on RK and his "encounter" is very interesting and food for thought.

Why -- did he fast during winter solstice for 10 days or was he clueless following hadith/tradition?

Winter solstice only ascent contradicts Qur'an. They do not sleep the other 365 days and 364 nights; it is a continuous/instantaneous ascent like our thoughts which instantaneously reach across the universe.

701 asked a questioner about a punishment and real
702 to the disbelievers is not to it any preventer
703 from Allah owner the ways of ascent
704 ascent the angels and The Spirit to Him in day/time is its measure fifty thousand timeframe
705 so be patient a patience beautiful
706 indeed they see it far
707 and We see it soon

  • Cousin marriages- dnt understand???
    S S29

    Peace,

Salamunalaykom, I really dnt understand y Allah would allow cousins to marry each other especially since theirs evidence the child theyd have has a higher chance of being disabled. I look at my cousins like family, rather than people I can marry n I just can't get my head around this. Does anyone understand what I'm saying? By the way, I am not putting down ppl or cultures who do practice this, I'm just asking for any thoughts... Thnx

You don't have to marry your cousin or anyone you find them detestable for marriage which is a matter of culture and personal taste which those thoughts were put in your head same like eating snails some find horrific while others a treat.

The disease stuff has more to do with probability i.e. if a certain bad gene is inherited the more likely it would be passed down to children from two carriers same with any two unrelated persons carrying the bad genetic code whereas for healthy individuals there is no evidence.

    Verse 3350,

    O Prophet! surely We have made lawful to you your wives whom you have given their dowries, and those whom your right hand possesses out of those whom Allah has given to you as prisoners of war, and the daughters of your paternal uncles and the daughters of your paternal aunts, and the daughters of your maternal uncles and the daughters of your maternal aunts who fled with you;

and a believing woman if she gave herself to the Prophet, if the Prophet desired to marry her-- specially for you, not for the (rest of) believers; We know what We have ordained for them concerning their wives and those whom their right hands possess in order that no blame may attach to you; and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

What I personally understand from the above verse, is that marrying cousins, among others, was lawful for the Prophet, pbuh, only.

    Peace,
    Khalil

I put the break/pause 'and" new sentence in the verse. Also see 422-24 cousins excluded from those forbidden.

    Peace,

    No translation is perfect.

The main problem I find with QXP is that it is almost impossible to use and conclude from it, because its not literal, you often have to check a word for word or other translations. But it is decent, and I often refer to it for a different view for awkward/unusual verses.

    See www.ourbeacon.com

Yes they are all lacking in careful precision filled with assumptions. In process of doing my own "literal" translation, easily and consistently done using a word processor and substitution next to the Arabic; e.g.

1141 say I seek refuge in Lord the mankind
    1142 King the mankind
    1143 God the mankind
1144 from evil the whisperer the one who withdraws
1145 the one who whispers in breasts the mankind
1146 from the jinn and the mankind

    Peace,

    God, Gabriel, Prophet or ...?
I'd prefer a rationalistic answer than reactioned one...

297 Say, "Who is an enemy to Gabriel - so indeed he descended it on your mind by permission Allah confirming what between His hands and guidance and glad tiding to the believers."

    31
    32
33 He descended to you the book with the truth confirming to what between His hands, and He descended the Taurat and the Injeel.

Say is to the prophet by Gabriel (transmitting) confirming what ?between His hands? figurative from Allah.
