Great to have you join us, I will look forward to your posts on this forum even though i haven't been posting much lately myself but i do come on to read what others have to say. So you are 19, is that 19 and married or 19 and unmarried, i'm just curios how you got away with being 19 without all your family ganging up on you like a mob trying to get you married.
I assume you are from a sunni background , so am i , and i came here just as you did trying to find answers to things i had heard and was taught by friends, families and mullas. I did my best to be like them and to be the way they wanted me to be but i found that i was always unhappy. I had too many questions that needed answering and everytime i tried to ask one i felt as if i was infront of a judge and jury and someone might stick a fatwa on me. Its the same with thousands of other young muslims who aren't allowed to question theyr'e religion.

When i used to ask questions i always got told that the devil makes me say these things because i don't pray. So i stopped asking and started wondering. I thank Allah for the internet that allows us to seek answers to our questions without us being prosecuted by our families.
The first time i ever asked my elders why there were so many lies in the hadith , they almost disowned me and started cursing me for having Christian friends. They thought that i was being influenced by them.

So if Allah has guided you to us then stay with us and learn with us and soon you will become part of us. If you need to ask something please feel free to do so without feeling embarrassed or reluctant. This is why you are here , to learn and maybe teach us a thing or two aswell.

Just one piece of advice , we have had a lot of horny teenagers flocking in lately grouphug , just be warned about them. They ask alot of questions and can brainwash some of us older members into thinking the are just innocents. shock

Believe me guys/gals i could tell you some sunni racism stories but the thread is about are we losing muslims? I think that question has already been answered.

My family has this idea of, if you need to discipline your children take them to Pakistan. For all those who post here and are from Pakistan i would like you to know i have been to Pakistan and it is beautiful but it will never be my home.
What upsets me is that my family and hundreds of other Pakistanis in bradford seem to think that Pakistan is a perfect muslim country and no one is ever bad there but as soon as you mention the uk they start bad mouthing everything thing here. Chidren who are born here are told right from when they are infants that they are Pakistani and this is not their country. They always refer to Pakistan as home and the uk (where they spend 3/4 of their lives )will always be pardes. They tell us how faithful they are to their country and how important being faithful is yet they teach us to be unfaithful to ours.
I ask them which country in the world gives you free medical help, free education, help with mortgage payments if they become unemployed, life long facilities for the sick or disabled, help with rent and grants for house repairs (that they don't have to pay back). Free school dinners for children and free school clothing vouchers, free baby milk for infants . This is just a tiny portion of what help is available to people would pakistan give them all this.
Pakistanis come to live in our country, live off our facilities, then say racist things about us. I respect the Pakistani way of life and the uk is very accepting of other cultures and religions but it hurts when pakistanis can't accept our way of life and then abuse us. They say that the english are racist but at least the english don't bite the hand that feeds them.

When my husband came over from Pakistan i made my views about how i feel about the uk very clear to him. I told him that he will always be pakistani but that the uk will be his country just as much as Pakistan will be and that he should respect the uk as much as he respects Pakistan.
My husband has been true to his word he loves and respects England as much as Pakistan ....until he watches cricket.

I still get your point NoProgressive because muslims and especially young muslims seem to get easily mislead . The idea of music ,clubs, drugs, provocative dancing and lots of sex seem very attractive to these youngsters and these days everything is advertised using sex and music.
To those who are brought up in this kind of enviroment it doesn't seem wrong anymore.
We are becoming more and more acceptable of this kind of behaviour.
Go back 50yrs , check out what was on tv and on advertisments and billboards , compare it to today and the results are shocking. So how much more acceptable are we going to get in the future.
In Pakistan hundreds of muslim men flock to theatres to watch women doing provocative dancing and stripping on stage. These dances are known as mujrahs , the goverment is trying to stop these shows taking place but cds and dvds are still being released.
So if we lost a couple of hundred of these so called muslims to other religions i wouldn't really count them as a loss.

For what its worth me and my family sent money for the earth quake victims and supplies were bought with that money and sent, but on the way before these supplies even reached their destination the trucks were robbed by men at gun point.

Most definetly. I can proudly say that even at an age when i could have sneaked off without my parents knowledge and when all others around me were only interested in sex i kept myself to myself. To me their behavior was animal like and abuse of their freedom and this had nothing to do with wether it was forbidden in the Quran.

I didn't have to worry about accidently getting pregnant or catching a sexually transmitted disease or having to lie to my parents and now when i'm married, i don't have to worry about being recognised by someone i might have slept with. I don't have to keep any secrets from my husband.
Knowing that me and my husband were able to control ourselves then when we most vunerable shows how strong we are mentally and not likely to go astray now so we don't have to worry about betrayal and we can't accuse each other of things that we would have done either.

I have one i just read in the paper. called Killer Cabbie.
32 yr old cab driver (Zubair Khan) married a girl from Pakistan and then later started having family problems. He wanted a divorce so his wife moved out and went to live in London. Zubair decides to go down to London on July 20th and have sex with his wife then decides to stab her 20 times with a 6 inch blade in the throat and neck and infront of his kids ( you guessed right Zubair is from Bradford). He then packs his kids into his car drives back to Bradford( which is about 4-5 hour drive,just incase you don't live live in the uk and want to know) and left his kids with relatives. Then he decides to go back to london and finish off his brother in law( who always sided with his sister,Zubairs wife). This time he used a gun.

I hope the sicko rots in jail for the rest of his life.

As for those of you who think women can't take on their husbands, we are talking about just some. In the uk women have the advantage of always being belived so the poor husbands don't talk about it. I know quite a lot boys who have come from pakistan and been abused by their wives and family members. They are too ashamed to tell their parents back home or friends or the authority, some can't speak any english so they don't go to the police others don't want to get sent back pakistan so just try to put up with it.
If a man hits a woman just once it is seen as abuse yet women can verbally abuse men for years till they feel completely worthless and end up mentally drained and powerless and thats ok wink and thats not to add the tantrums, miserable faces, telling people lies about him , insulting him infront of strangers and then depriving him of sex too.

Oh and some women here do hit their men and the men are too scared to even defend themselves incase the women get hurt during the process and then no one believe them(the men).

Just one question if you same a man and woman walking together and the woman had a huge bruise on her face what would you think?

Naturally that her husband is a monster not thinking that for all we know her 2 year old could have hit her with a toy or she could have slipped and fell in the bath tub. Yet if the man had a bruise we wouldn't even notice.

Pm my husband works as a taxi driver and he tells me 9 out of 10 times its always the women that hit their husbands or boyfriends and in the back of his car too, because of his job he is not allowed to interfere with this kind of behavior.

For what its worth I would'nt eat leftovers left by a stranger so how could i share my body. For those who hand themselves over to anyone, i bet they have no respect for their own sexuality or the other persons. If they did they wouldn't be with a different person everytime.

1 God , 1 Quran, and 1 True love is all i need. I believe in being totally faithful ,and God help me if my husband went else where for a bit of nookie, i'd kill him.

Lucky for me i love him and trust him completley or else with a job like his he would have every opportunity to get up to no good.

I Have a question too for everyone on this thread. Would you expect your future partner to be chaste and faithful if you are not( or have been sleeping around before marriage) ?

How come no one has mentioned that only a good and righteous muslim man would have this right to hit his wife lightly not one who probably sleeps around with half the town himself.

Then again iv'e seen women who can be so mouthy and spoilt that they keep provoking till the poor man can take no more and has to hit her to shut her up. Believe me when i mean provoking i mean PROVOKING. They will pick a issue and keep at it for days and days on end.

I think people keep forgetting that this was one of the reasons divorce was allowed , that when your partner becomes unbearable to live with for whatever reason instead of becoming a monster yourself just walk away.

Jaxal your views are the only ones that seem to be making sense on this thread I am truely amazed. The rest of you guys seem just content with the idea of sex with 70 virgins. So i think we could do with closing this thread and opening a fantasy one.
Here in the uk especially bradford we have a wide variety of people and at the moment most youths girls and guys only seem interested in sex, by the looks of it both these agendas have slept with more than 70 of the opposite sex by the age of 20. So 70 virgins in heaven won't be much for them anyway.
Anyway i thought that the 70 virgins were neither male or female, if this is the case won't that mean we(men who are so looking forward to 70 virgins) are homosexuals.

Some Hadiths are very good though but i think these have been cleverly(deliberately) been kept to(cover up) confuse us into thinking that the other man-made Hadiths are authentic too.

Its ok to believe in the toothfairy, but its not ok when the toothfairy tells you to chop someones hands off if they steal.
