2856 has the answer You surely cannot guide whoever you like ˹O Prophet˺, but it is Allah Who guides whoever He wills, and He knows best who are ˹fit to be˺ guided. A lot changes when we change mentally just how it is instructed in the Book. So yes, it is an active inner commitment. If there is a test you end it by working on a solution. Lets just say it is linked to expansion of the consciousness that constantly works like a radar and wants to be useful as well as nurtured. Misguidance is the result of rejecting inner voice. I would call concrete steps for true guidance to be rather subjective but yes, mind change is a must.You will always know whether a person is truly following the Book. There are people who call themselves Quran alone but find it too offensive to live it because they are so perfect in their own eyes.
