The core message of Qur?an is to teach mankind to be slave to Allah alone ? not to associate any partner with Him. In other words the book suggests us to accept our inner sense of justice and morality (called conscience) as our solemn obligation to the supreme authority who endowed us with the gift of life. This is reiterated hundreds of times in Qur?an by urging us to be conscious (muttaquin) and to act appropriately (amalu salehin).

A man associates (shirk) partner with Allah when he represses (k-f-r) his God-gifted conscience and intellect

On this basis, an ISIS soldier performing a ?human sacrifice? to please the deity-in-heaven (tagoot) that he worships is no different from a pagan idol worshiper performing a ?human sacrifice? to please his cult?s god. Just because ISIS soldiers? God has an Arabic name which happens to be a homonym to the name of the Master of the universe in Qur?an ? it does not make them any less pagan.

This is exactly what I feel how ISIS violates the Quran.

Like all terrorists, they interpret Allah's verses literally- especially what many people would perceive as "violent verses".For example,

Moses said to his people, ?My people, you have wronged yourselves by worshipping the calf, so repent to your Maker and kill you. That is the best you can do in the eyes of your Maker.? He accepted your repentance He is the Ever Relenting and the Most Merciful. (254)

Most of those without sound judgement will interpret as "Suicide," when in fact they forget that Allah never commands evil/bad things so people with hikmah (wisdom) applied would understand it as fighting against the evil desire that the Satan invites mankind to embrace.

Because they suppress their God given basic-intellect, they've lost the chance to spiritually evolve further so they become blinded as they continue to commit acts of evil, (disease increasing in their hearts).

Also about the sacrifice humans thing that ISIS is doing is exactly what the pagans did.

What I think is that we as humans, can judge people based on our perceptions of them.

It's a survival tool, it's how we live by choosing who to stay in our lives and not. Of course God is the best judge because he can see what we can't. We cannot get right into the psyche of people and see every thought, every memory and emotion.

As humans, we do do judge and it's not to be taken to heart but as a trait of humanity. Someone might judge me as a shy person, but another person may call me confident. It depends on everyone's own perception really.

For instance, you may judge someone on how they behave and talk with you. If you cannot understand them, you classify them as weird. Does it mean they're strange? It may be or may not be- according to Allah.

We exist for God. Our purpose is to constantly seek God's love and approval by doing right and avoiding wrong. We can enjoy life but must be grateful to God for all the pleasures we have. Whether it's a great glamorous job, a kind and sweet friend or a luxurious home.

The guild lines to do so are in the Quran but must be approached with wisdom.

Al-Hikmah literally means "Wisdom" in the Arabic dictionary.

Very few people actually posses this wisdom/al-hikmah and they are not traditional "muslim" scholars, nor the lovers of hadith.

The ones with wisdom are the ones who love and fear Allah only and can actually understand the Quran without needing to accept additional sources apart from their common sense (hence Al-Hikmah)

Remember you follow the way of Abraham, the true in faith we spent many days alone even in society and among his peers he was alone. They just did not think of higher things. You may realize they were like cattle but farther astray so remember ALLAH as he is quite the friend to have in fact he's the best of friends. Talk to Allah and you'll soon understand he hears and sees all, he understands your longing for good intelligent company and it is a trail you'll simply learn as you don't need many people in the future.

Aqua is only talking about the good that Allah permits. So good music is permitted. Good music means no ill intentions.

If a woman is singing and has a pleasant voice plus the lyrics are innocent and good, then there is nothing wrong with it. Even if there is some sicko who pervs on women. Take Shreya Goshal for example, some weird men may find her voice sexy and imagine rude things, but really it's just a sweet feminine voice.

I don't know where sexy female voice came from, how can a voice be sexy when someone is singing?

In terms of singing, voice is either good or bad.

One can only be sexy when they talk hoarsely or seductively.

Sexy voice implies that when someone hears it, they imagine doing rude stuff with another person. Of course this can vary amongst people. When no one feels like that then it is not classed as sexy. Usually someone who thinks sexual thoughts of someone else who is not their spouse, is of a bad character.

Personally, I've never come across sexy voices, just blatant rude lyrics or implied dirty lyrics.

When lyrics are bad, then the music is obviously bad, e.g. Rihanna's Shut up and drive & Rude Boy- Me being innocent had no idea about the double meaning of the lyrics until someone well versed in the RnB music pointed it out to me.

As for rude music videos, like bum shaking as Man of Faith puts it, is obviously bad. But Aqua is not saying it's good. Sometimes the beats is good but the video and the words are not. Know what I do? Get the instrumental version and put my own words into it. ;D

Aqua's article is talking about the GOOD things. Obviously believers of Allah know what good is and never degrade women into sexual objects.

Just remember to never be unkind to your parents, whether they support you in your beliefs or not. You do not have to agree with them if they ask you to do something that is against God's way, but you should not come into conflict either. God indeed guides whom He Wills and is ever Merciful towards those who serve Him.

As none of us ever knew how exactly Prophet Mohammed was apart from what was mentioned about him in the Quran, it is impossible to take him as a role model.

When God mentioned to follow the prophet's example in the Quran, he was talking about the rules. Prophet was following god's rules on how to behave, so those wishing to stay on the true path could see how to act.

It's a nasty and horrible act that should never happen.

No one will ever have a conscience unless they can empathize with others and treat them with respect.

So i've probably asked this before, but I was reading a recent thread about how God is merciful yet doesn't forgive every sin.

I personally believed that God would forgive every sin, however if you commit idol worship, then God does not forgive this.

I want to understand

1. If God is all merciful, how can it not forgive every sin.

2. I suppose I could except it as unforgivable because partners are being set up with God. That being, certain attributes that are other than the godly path are unforgivable.

I want to get peoples interpretations on the verses in the Quran that talk about this (I can't remember them but I think a few verses are in Surah 4?)

Well if you take into account sins like

Rape
Murder
Cannibalism
Child abuse (sexual)

How can God forgive these when they are so disgusting and evil? Performed by the vilest creatures on earth.

People who do these have no morals. They are incapable of repenting.

To repent, one has to have a working knowledge of good. For example someone steals money but then realises that it was wrong and so repents by working to repay the person they stole from.

A rapist for example has no conscience when they are forcing themselves on someone else. They don't have any humanity when they do this evil act. And as you see in the news, they are sadistic and have no regret for what they did.

Even if they weep a few tears and say they regret it, deep down they don't.

So some sins are unforgivable.

God is merciful but God is also just.

There is no better Judge than God.

PS Idol worship can be forgiven if the person realises their mistakes and repents. Repentance has to be genuine. God knows what we are really like.

Like Jafar said, if they're good and kind hearted people (God said you will know people by their speech and actions)- then of course you can be friends with them.

If they're bad and evil or narrow minded- then no. Who would want such friends?

I'm friends with a Christian who is kind and open minded. In fact both of us believe in just one God and don't put partners with him.

I am in the process of reading the Quran but for those who have read the entire Quran (in English) or are reading it at the moment, I have a question for you.

Have you read in the Quran that heaven is eternal for believers, Hell is eternal for disbelievers or that one day God will eradicate human souls completely after them staying for some time in heaven/hell?

Is chewing gum allowed when one is fasting for Ramadan?

A person, like the majority of Sunnis, said NO! it is HARAM and then proceeded to say it has sugar and stuff in it.

But it is not like food or water as it does not even fill the stomach. Those who chew it during fasting never get satiated and still are hungry.

Another said it makes a good breath freshener when one's mouth is smelling during fasting and this is why they do it.

Now, I'm interested in hearing all your opinions- assuming that it's not going to be backed by sunni fatwas.

No fatwas, hadiths and sunni/shia thoughts please. We have enough of those on the internet. I just want to hear that others feel without being influenced by other sayings.

My parents still don't listen to me when I showed them this and they're going to circumcise my brother tomorrow. I feel like I've failed God and my brother. (

I just wish there was something I could do. Any support? Advice?
