  • When did the great reset take place?
    V virginia

I decided a few years pre- covid to give up on learning here, sort of retired from discussions I discovered that maybe to get discussing I ought to clai. That I'm A muslim, one who has submitted to God, Yahweh so there are nquestions regarding my meaning. Last go round I learned that you beliefs contradict your objections to my faith, evangelical Christian. You object to my suggestion of Jesus (pbuh) being divine, yet your beliefs state that the Word of God is indistinguishable from God himself. The first chapter of the gospel of John agrees with this position in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the Word was God. John is calling Jesus the Word of God by your own understanding making Jesus equal with God. I don't suspect much has changed in the last ten years but that my user name was deleted and I had to start over.

    Welcome back,

I think "word" is a very bad translation of "verbum" and "verbum" is a very bad translation of "logos". Quite complicated issue.

    Peace,

this is absolutely out of topic but...

Many say it is Greek and do not do their research because they do not know and do not want to learn a word of Greek.

Paul is originally Greek, only a bad translator like him would have made such grammar mistakes and still get into the Gospel canon rotfl

Does that mean that it is Greek? Just because many say it?

Obviously many of the greek words are an attempt to translate from other languages, that is obvious. That does not mean the Greek you have is a translation in whole. Have you ever heard of neologisms?

I can tell you that the Greek texts, because there is not 1 majority of Greek texts, but many different ones, are a translation of the Original Aramaic text.

You can say whatever you want, other thing is if you can prove it

Look at the Aramaic text, there is 1 majority.

You have the "original" aramaic text and the whole world is searching for it since ancient times? hypno

Look at the Greek text, there are many differences, Nestle Aland, Westcott and Hort, Texstus Receptus, Alexandrian text, Antioch text, Byzantine text etc.

They are still changing the Greek text up to today. If its Originaly Greek, then why would they need to change it? No, because the Greek is a translation of the Aramaic.

there is not any original, but hundreds of versions just because Jesus never wrote himself so everything is third party accounts about his supposed existence. That leads to necessary text reconstruction and many versions in many languages. Whatever you find in whatever language you find it is not any original becase, simply, everything are accounts of supposed witnesses.

People spoke Greek in that time, but it is not the mother language of the Jews and Christians. Greek was a language of the Western people..

    brickwall
Even runninglikezebras would agree with me
Alexander the Great with all the Ptolomaioi must be twisting in their tombs alltogether with the West Roman Empire!

Even history is clear about it, i am not a fan of history, because many maniplated it. But in that time they spoke Aramaic in that region. In the West they spoke Greek.

I suggest that if you are not a fan, at least stop making claims when you have no idea.

Anyways, i believe that the Greek is a translation of the Aramaic.

Where is the Hebrew Gospel, or are you just saying such things without any evidence? I did not see a Hebrew Gospel in my life, except a translation of the Aramaic one done recently..

Come one, lets not say such things without any solid believe and evidence.

Its Aramaic. I have done my research and tested my believe.

Which original? There is no original, there are hundreds of (very different by the way) accounts in many languages about the odyssey of some Jesus from Nazaret who never wrote a single word neither intented to. What original then? Please researc further. in any case I am not suggesting aramaic is not the original language, only there is not an original aramaic text

I suggest this moves to another topic, it is absolutely spoiling a good topic peace

230 is talking about those who were already on earth, but they were savage and without IQ. The verse makes it clear that the angels can't predict the future with He said "I know what you do not know.

It seems they were stunned by God's decision to put a bunch of savages in leadership position on earth.

Adam wasn't the first human. He was the first civilized human.

    Peace,

I have been checking the verses afterwards and indeed there is no hint the hkalifatan is Adam, whose name appears later. But in the very same line of logic we should be careful and not to think the khalifatan is human being either, such a thing is not explicity expressed.

So we are understanding wrongly the meaning of "khalifatan" or we are supposing things as the angels could have done, or the angels understood perfectly the meaning of khalifatan and so their opposition (that is the reason why i did not translate khalifat)

Wow now thats interesting! if you got more please keep them coming.

    Peace The Sardar

I am not versed in the Germanic branch of Indoeuropean at all so i prefered to copy paste you the best synopsis I got from what I've being reading about the origins of the English word "god". In fact, this is the most accepted theory

    Oxford English Dictionary

"god (gd). Also 3-4 godd. [Com. Teut. OE. god (masc. in sing.; pl. godu, godo neut., godas masc.) corresponds to OFris., OS., Du. god masc., OHG. got, cot (MHG. got, mod.Ger. gott) masc., ON. go?, gu? neut. and masc., pl. go?, gu? neut. (later Icel. pl. gu?ir masc.; Sw., Da. gud), Goth. gu?(masc. in sing.; pl. gu?a, guda neut.). The Goth. and ON. words always follow the neuter declension, though when used in the Christian sense they are syntactically masc. The OTeut. type is therefore *guom neut., the adoption of the masculine concord being presumably due to the Christian use of the word. The neuter sb., in its original heathen use, would answer rather to L. numen than to L. deus. Another approximate equivalent of deus in OTeut. was *ansu-z (Goth. in latinized pl. form anses, ON. ss, OE. ?s- in personal names, ?sa genit. pl.); but this seems to have been applied only to the higher deities of the native pantheon, never to foreign gods; and it never came into Christian use.

The ulterior etymology is disputed. Apart from the unlikely hypothesis of adoption from some foreign tongue, the OTeut. *gubom implies as its pre-Teut. type either *ghudho-m or *ghut?-m. The former does not appear to admit of explanation; but the latter would represent the neut. of the passive pple. of a root *gheu-. There are two Aryan roots of the required form (both *glheu, with palatal aspirate) one meaning ?to invoke? (Skr. h&#363, the other ?to pour, to offer sacrifice? (Skr. hu, Gr. , OE. y?otan YETE v.). Hence *glhut?-m has been variously interpreted as ?what is invoked? (cf. Skr. puru-hta ?much-invoked?, an epithet of Indra) and as ?what is worshipped by sacrifice? (cf. Skr. hut?, which occurs in the sense ?sacrificed to? as well as in that of ?offered in sacrifice?). Either of these conjectures is fairly plausible, as they both yield a sense practically coincident with the most obvious definition deducible from the actual use of the word, ?an object of worship?.

Some scholars, accepting the derivation from the root *glheu- to pour, have supposed the etymological sense to be ?molten image? (= Gr. &#957, but the assumed development of meaning seems very unlikely.

    From the Oxford English Dictionary.

I dont know very much about the particular stem, but I think that it is obvious why gheu(&#601? (invoke, call) and other root *ged- (unite, join) come from the same seme since when you ?call?, people get ?united? and ?joined? and ?gathered?. This *ged- also became ?gut? in German and ?good? in English. You still use it in the English words "gather" or "together".

In any case, I could only give a proper linguistic approach myself about the Greek "theos" and latin "deus", but I think your issue is about the English "god".

Also you must know there are other approaches which reject the above widely accepted etymology ( check http//search.proquest.com/openview/168623f5623c2cb08baa85e718377752/1?pq-origsite=gscholar&cbl=1817105 ), although personally I dont see any problem in the acceptance of no laryngeal development.

Note Proto Indoeuropean is a family of languages that consists on more than 100 languages (from German and Latin to Sanskrit or Armenian). These languages are supposed to come from a language (Indieuropean) talked around 4500 BC in Central Asia and spread until Europe in several migration waves. Those people had several names but the general one is Aryans. Take into account that the PIE reconstruction project is not only a project held by linguistics, it is a huge attempt that counts on genetics, archaeology, anthropology and geology)

    Peace all,

I haven?t read all the posts here, but please let me please add my poor acumen hoping it will help brother The Sardar with his problem about the origins of "god" and "deus".

Mr. Fiske published his work in 1886, and since then the Indoeuropean and Proto Indoeuropean reconstruction project has gone through a long way and has developed immensely.

There is a proto Indo-European root

    ?dh
    Inner Light and Meditation

Once the Indo-Europeans had used the consonant d, symbol of light, to denote the divine (divya) and god (deva), they then used the d to mean ?to bear light ? within the human soul and they consequently formed the root dh ?to think in contemplation? or ?contemplative thinking?.

From dh came the word dhti ?devotion?, ?prayer? or ?meditation?, which, in Latin, corresponds to the word fides ?faith? ?

(Please, note that the development of indoeuropean dh > latin f is very common.

From "Comparative etymological Dictionary of classical Indo-European languages Indo-European - Sanskrit - Greek - Latin", Rendich Franco, p. 88 (2014)

From this, the root for Greek theos (&#962 and latin deus have been recognised

    dyeu-

    4. Vocative compound *dyeu-pter, "O father Jove" (*pter, father; see pter-). Jupiter, from Latin Iuppiter, Ipiter, head of the Roman pantheon.

    6. Noun *deiwos, god, formed by e-insertion to the zero-grade *diw and suffixation of (accented) -o.

However what difference does it make whether the word is there or not in this specific case?

It depends on your understanding, I guess. I cant find any verse stating that Quran = Kitab, only verses stating that Quran confirms AlKitab. Please correct me if I am wrong

So having as granted that this verse 12111 is referring to Quran when the closest "Quran" word occurrence is at 123 (I think), it is kind of a rush for me and could led to misunderstanding. Of course everyone will have his own understanding and context application peace

@HP_TECH there has been no evidence

    the claims were

1- sex is allowed with slaves only if you are married to them BUT 2350 makes the difference between spouses and slaves/people with contractual rights

2-slaves means people with contractual rights with the muslim, a kind of "marriage", but 3355 shows that the wives of the prophet had slaves (people with whom they have contractual rights) themselves, they were polygamous according to you??

    Surah 3 Aya 14
Beautified for people is the love of that which they desire - of women and sons, heaped-up sums of gold and silver, fine branded horses, and cattle and tilled land. That is the enjoyment of worldly life, but Allah has with Him the best return.

    Peace,

Look again at 314 and take into account the "for the people", not only for men.

so their plan and its execution is much more cunning than a male .planning ?..It reminds me about a verse about the planning of women

All the rest of your post seems to me a very Eve-convincing-Adam-to-eat-the-apple reading... Not a quranic approach of male/female natures at all.

Observe 6610 to 6611, God puts forth 4 examples of women 2 rejecters and 2 believers, not an unbalanced account in favour of snake-listeners and male-manipulator beings.
