Peace Naziha, . It reminds me of that popular viral video of that boy telling his mother he's no longer a Christian and that he is an atheist, and her response was, "Well then guess what?! You're not getting anything for Christmas!". It's all they can say. They never knew religion, it's just a big point system via lip-service and traditional rituals for them. It's actually an amazing view of psychology and how religion can indeed be very harmful. ;D

There is fairly decent audio mp3 recording (which you can burn on a CD of course) but as far as I know not Asad's. There are Abdullah Basfar recitation with the beautiful voice of Ibrahim Walk reading the Saheeh International Translation, Muhammad Ayyub recitation with Mikaal Waters reading Muhsin Khan Translation, which is of course, although there are some good parts, a sectarian and mainly wrong translation for too many things added, and probably there are more! You can try to download them on http//www.mp3quran.net/eng/, and also search the net for yourself.

I don?t believe that the earth will change into another earth since this would contradict with Sura 1972. 1972 Then We will save those who were righteous, and We leave the wicked in it on their knees. ( The wicked are resurrected on earth and they will remain on earth) Remember that we will be resurrected ON EARTH. So if the unrighteous are left behind on earth it would imply that this current earth will house the unrighteous. This universe will become hell which is what may happen on the day of resurrection. Also don?t forget Sura 6917 ( there will be eight universes and not seven) This will imply a new heaven and earth. And since there will be a new heaven and earth what do you think will happen with this one which the unrighteous will remain in?? If you check on http//corpus.quran.com, there you can see that the translation of Muhammad Asad of verse 1448 seems to be the most accurate, the word -tubadallu- means to change, not to exchange and not to substitute. 1448 on the Day when the earth shall be changed into another earth, as shall be the heavens and when shall appear before God, the One who holds absolute sway over all that exists. Verse 6917 can have multiple meanings, anyway the verse does not say that the believers will go from Earth to another one. The multiple heavens can be multiple universes or dimensions. Verse 3969 states the Earth will shine with the light of its Lord ?, so the Earth will be raised onto a higher level of existence - together with those people who will inherit the Earth - 3974. The wording -inherit- is informative, one can only inherit something that is already existing. This supports the point of view that the existing Earth will change into a Paradise and will not be exchanged. Verse 1972 seems to adress only a special group of people - the doubters of the resurrection. Verses 1966 until 1970 give this context. Only those will be brought near the border of hell - by passing by it. Verses 735 until 750 give more comprehensive information. Verse 736 states that the rejecters of the signs - not all human beings- will go into the fire. Verse 738 confirms that only a special group of people will enter the fire. Verse 746 informs that there will be a group of people who are on the -araf-, who are between Hell and Heaven, possibly verse 1972 refers to this place between Hell and Heaven. Only the wicked of them will go into Hell according to verse 1972, according to verse 749 the people of the -araf- will enter the Garden. I do not know of any verse that states that the righteous people will be taken away from Earth. Neither can I find a verse that supports the point of view that Hell is on Earth or that Earth will change into a Hell. Verse 1847 is translated in different ways - the Earth will be barren is not the only possible translation. The Earth will be a leveled plain, the mountains have vanished - http//corpus.quran.com. The following verse? 8923 Hell on that day is brought. On that day the human being will remember, but how will the remembrance now help him? This above verse doesn?t necessarily mean that hell already exists NOW. It can also mean that hell will occur on the day of resurrection. Two separate interpretations can be concluded from this verse and not just one. Try to be a bit boarder in your interpretations. Remember that chaos is hell. Chaos is what will occur on the Day of Resurrection. Hence it is in context with what the Quran says ? Every single one of you must pass by it. This for your Lord is a certainty that will come to pass.? . Remember that we will see or pass by hell which will only occur when we are resurrected. 3131 Be aware of the fire that has been prepared for the ingrates. From this verse we can learn that Hell has already been made - so it can be brought near to the people on Earth during the Day of Judgement - 8923. Verse 8924 informs us that the Hell is brought near to a special group of people - the ones who did not prepare for the Day of Judgement. 21101 behold, as for those for whom ultimate good has already gone forth from Us these will be kept far away from that 21102 no sound thereof will they hear; and they will abide in all that their souls have ever desired. My main-point is to show that the idea that Earth will be turned into the place of Hell is not compatible with verses of the Koran. This negative attitude towards Earth could lead to conscious or sub-conscious contempt of the precious creation we live on. According to the Koran the Earth has a very bright future, human beings have to take care of her in the best way. Salaam, Truthseeker Disclaimer the study of the Koran is work in progress, every information in any posting on this forum should be controlled by the believers themselves in the best way - verse 1736.

This man gradually losses command over his body organs/cells which keep performing all those acts which they perform in accordance with the built in data/information stored therein. All of them become independent and self directed, no more subservient or under control/will of the "person" of that body. "...And whomsoever We cause to live long, We reduce (him) to an abject state in constitution; do they not then understand? (3667-6" All biological life grows, blossoms then shrivels. In quran the age of 40 seems to be the time that man blossoms.

Hi there Paradox, This perhaps isn't too relevant so apologies in advance. I always thought of strains of wahabism and other "extreme" (perhaps a better word would be conservative?) forms of Islam were only relegated to Saudi Arabia and minorities of other countries. (Stupid of me). I recently got in a debate with some young students over the blasphemy laws in Pakistan, and how Asia Bibi was recently sentanced to death over allegedly blaspheming against the prophet. These students absolutely agreed with the death penalty, stating that she lived in a Muslim state and thus blasphemy (even against the prophet) must result in death. You can imagine my suprise. I don't want to sound condescending or perched on a moral high ground, but these "conservative" forms of Islam are spreading like wildfire to even the younger generation (that I am a part of), that is generally seen as being more liberal. This does not seem to be the case any more. It's actually quite frightening. Pakistan economy is going down, that's why. Only mass technological advance Economic Action can undermine it. Built 100 HydroElectric Dams for Pakistan, Protect The Agriculture from Floods. Get the Chinese to Built 100 (HTR-10) 4th Generation Pebble-Bed Nuclear Power Plants. You can't change their minds with words, only Material can.

Yes. Although it will only reveal new things if you thought a specific order meant something. Whether it does actually mean something is beyond my knowledge. Just as if you used to read Makkan verses after Medina then came to read them in any order it will demolish your preconceptions. The content of al-quran does not change either way. Just your perception. Peace Salam, When as a child I used to recite like a parrot, i noticed the makkan/medina labels. Never knew what they were. After growing up and starting to study religion and deen, understanding that hadiths were never even authorised, I came to know that people have labelled verses and chapters in many different ways. I personally don't know how they labelled the Global position of the landings of the ayaats. PEACE -------------------- Student of Allah

Peace The topic "Objective Quran study" for the above article is incorrect and misleading. The correct topic would be "A language lesson to God and His Messenger in how to write the books Quran, Hadith and History. The writer of the above article correctly starts by bringing attention to the error of "man trying to create God in his own image", possibly man trying to return the favor mentioned in the Bible, then goes to define and create God in the image which is acceptable to him. The writer builds his arguments mixing up the Quran, hadith and history without knowledge and unintentionally or maybe deliberately as it suits him to present his arguments, which are neither convincing nor in depth. The childish arguments are built without giving any consideration or thought to reverse logic and counter arguments most of which are already available in other verses in the Quran. God teaches the Messenger through the messages sent through the Malaika or inspiration. The Messengers main obligation was to read or tell this message out to the audience that he could reach. Most of this writers naive questioning is based on his misunderstanding of this third party transmission.

And purely theoretically, who fears gun or larger weapon, when God exists, and is the master of judgement day? He should ofcourse be the only one to fear.

Peace I know this is an old forum, but here is an interesting quote from wiki answers(http//wiki.answers.com/Q/What_does_Islam_say_about_Adam_and_Eve's_children_and_how_did_third_generation_come_into_existence_when_Adam_and_Eve_only_had_2_sons) However, some people dispute this Quran and Testament backed theory and instead maintain that since incest is considered a grave sin in Islam, this is probably not true. They believe that celestial bodies descended upon Earth to be brides for the two brothers or that the female twins gave virgin births similar to that of Mary. Can anyone give his thoughts about that? Peace

to dawn I think that the friday prayers are in place of the middle prayer, in the afternoon. This is because God tells us that he made the Daylight in order for us to "seek from his bounty" and since God tells his to seek from his bounty after we finish the friday prayer, it makes since that the friday prayer would take place during the middle prayer timing (decline of sun) whence daylight is taking place.

Adel, I tried sending you a PM, but I received an error message. My wife's family lives in Cleveland, next time we are up that way we should try and get together. Email me at [email protected] and tell me what you had in mind. Getting out anytime soon might be a challenge. My wife is due to go into labor any time now. Seriously, maybe tonight. & Peace, Joel

Stop thinking too much about morality and modesty and do what you feel is right. If it does not harm you or the others, it doesn't matter at all. You don't have to live in fear of God, even if he existed. You do not have to think that "God is to be feared". The JudeoChristianIslamic "God" He loves you and you better love him back because he will burn you forever if you don't. >D

Shalom, Good thoughts. I could find a label good enough to classify me with other individuals in the same boat. Apart from my belief in oneness of my Lord and his authorized scripture's identification. I hardly find another person that follows Qur'an alone to have same understanding of all the signs of God in His book. I believe, this is what taught me to be nice and friendly with everyone. Let God guide us all. --------------------- Student of Allah
