Hello all, I have two questions What is the anti-Hadith postion on Muhammad (peace be upon him)? Is the basis for taking only the Quran as a source of religion either For this question pick either A or B. B overrides A. a) The hadith aren't reliable, so we can't follow the orders of the Prophet, so we must now stick to only the Quran. This means that you believe that following the Prophet is necessary but now impossible today. b) Or that following the orders of the Prophet is not a necessary requirement of the religion Islam. This means that it doesn't matter if the Hadith are true or not, no one is obligated (by Allah) to do what the Prophet says. five-oh

Salaam Let me tell you people here a story, quick. i speak english (second language) lived in the states and came to europe, i go to a lebanese donakabab where the son of the owner spits in my food, wishes death upon me like Mohammeds youngest wife just becuase i spoke english!! I asked him what his problem was and why he did these things, he even yelled that i (me) oppressed africans in front of a few muslims on this afternoon. i just said salaam and left... i dont get it, i feel like going over to confort him thinking if he knew i was a muslim he would be glad but the only thing i can think of that makes this kid so hatefull is a desease in his heart.. What would you all do in the situation?

Recap Dhulqarnain said the Qur'an is the only perfect book. I said the Torah, the Gospel and other books are just as perfect. Dhulqarnain came back and said those books are not perfect. I accused him of anti-Semitism, which is the root of the claim (which is NOT found in the Qur'an) and I asked him to furnish proof for his (anti-Semitic) claims, which he did not... since last I checked. Salaamun To be a Qur-an Only advocate and then uphold the notion that a ritual prayer is required, is a contradiction. If, we, as Muslims, agree that Allah means what He says, then when He says His Book/Al-Qur-an, is complete, fully detailed, and omits nothing, then we know that He means this. This being the case then, if a ritual prayer were required, He would have had to give us the details for doing it. While I agree some verses appear to suggest a ritual prayer is to done, I'm certain that this is the result of either a poor translation of the verse or us not fully understanding verse or both. Bottomline though, we know that there is no ritual prayer, because Allah did not give us any details on how to perform a raka from beginning to end. Based on this evidence alone the ritual prayer should be abandoned, because Allah has forbidden us to follow/ do that which we have no knowledge of, hence, to conjecture/extrapolate.
