Peace everyone, Quran only Muslims are certainly not alone in this rejection/not knowing in how other people will react to them. There's Pagans/Wiccans/Witches - get routinely mocked for believing in magic as well, homosexuals, atheists, traditional Muslim or any Muslims who want to tell their parents or family about leaving their respective faith for Islam, anyone else of any other faith who faces hostility because their family does not approve of anything outside of their religion. This is more about human nature at the end of the day, than it is about anything else. Some people are accepting, they may even want to learn, other people are rejecting. Some people are happy with their family only knowing a little about their spirituality or whatever it is, others want to ensure they know everything. So its all about each side in the situation as well.

Peace everyone, I agree with Man of Faith, it will become clearer when you continue seeking guidance and act out of faith by doing good. One thing I'd say is that there are many things that are Unseen that we know we depend upon, that is required for life to exist. People before us did not know some of these unseen processes and with science we have discovered some of them. There could be some unseen processes that we may never know or see or hear about even through science because it is on a scale we perhaps don't know about. If there is a God - do we really expect to see/hear Him? Or do we understand that we will know Him through His Signs and that step by step we will come to understand what we need to for our relationship with our Creator?

In terms of treating animals humanely what about fish and other sea life? This is something that I came across a while back. When they put fish or other sea life that is caught on the fishing boat in crates, those fish are still alive, all piled on top of one another while they are in the boat. I don't know if this is the case for the majority of fish or not - its just I've seen it quite a few times. Or if they aren't actually fully alive, they are still moving around a bit. I haven't looked into this area a huge amount, so if anyone wants to give some input then feel free. Also things like crabs and lobsters, I couldn't eat because they usually boil them alive, which I find so cruel. I don't know if all boats do this with the crates but I understand it might be for practicality - do we see this as inhumane with regards to the Quran or is this acceptable if its considered practical? My future baby will not go to hell if he is not circumcised. I would never put my son through that. Remember Allah said that if the Quran were from anyone but God, you would find in it many contradictions. And you can find plenty in Hadith. I recommend reading 3elm el Jamaa3 by Imam Al Shafi' (The amalgamation of knowledge). He had to debate and convince all the scholars of his time (200 yrs after death of Prophet Muhammad) to embrace Al-Akhbar (stories/hadith), to make them binding and obligatory on Muslims. That should tell you something.

I used to wonder about that. In fact I used to yearn for that kind of image of God in Islam, that the Christians have. But later on I realized it wasn't all butterflies and lollipops. Bigmo's post pretty much explains that. I guess I was looking for forgiveness, a breakaway from the guilt I had inside from lack of Salat and minding my 'religious duties'. So I was seeking an unconditional loving God. However if Allah loved unconditionally, then that means He would also love child molesters, rapists and murderers. That means He would love Bush, and all the members of satanic communities! That wouldn't befit Allah the Almighty, the Just, now would it? It's sad that the same thing happens to people who become atheist. I feel it is due to guilt and them feeling like they could never be good enough, or they are just classed as sinners and will never be given a chance, especially when society around them keeps picking at them to be perfect. I wonder.

Hi, I thought of the same thing when I was studying this and what I understood was basically whatever you are comfortable or is acceptable to wear around male family members, you should cover a bit more when you go out. For example I could wear a tank top and shorts at home but wear at least a t-shirt and calf-length jeans outside. Or loose jeans. At least. Ideal would be a skirt that goes below the knee or longer. It also depends where I will be. I think the objective is to not show/flaunt sexuality. And Allah says not to strike your feet lest you expose your adornments. Think about what can be shown when striking your feet.. Chest, behind and perhaps thighs.

Peace, I think all prophets had their share of importance and that we should not distinguish between any of them. We should not diminish the importance of Muhammad in our pursuit in invalidating the practices of traditional "Islam". Moses received the Law, the popular Ten commandments, on stone tablets, but I would not make him the most important prophet due to that. Then why not consider Muhammad the most important with your logic, since he delivered a far more detailed scripture containing God's exact wordings. Nay, you should not distinguish between any of them, they all had their place in history. Praise God for everything they came with, the Messengers would take no honor for they were righteous folks. If you came to Heaven and went up to, for example, Muhammad and said "Thank you", the man would reply "Do not thank me, thank the one who sent me". Of course, most of those who would do so will never even get the chance since the prophet would look the other way. God bless you Excellent point. I regard the hajj in Mekka as being a form of idol worship in the form of meaningless rituals. Kissing a black stone, going around a kaaba 7 times or something and all that. It just doesnt seems right confused And then the place is over crowded. For me it seems more as a 'tourist attraction'' in the name of islam. May God guide us to the right path. Peace

Peace all I'm also already watching some Quran alone videos especially from Farouk's Edip Yuksel's, even I'm bad in english listening but I got some point from what they said. Sorry I wrote some little insane inhere. But can I ask you the members of Quranist NetworkIf you want,please give the english subtitles in all of your videos in youtube especially in Salat discussion and conferrence videos, so the Quran alone around the world which is not good in english listening including me can easily understand you videos. Plus the more benefit is it can raise the number viewer count D.
