What does marriage mean? Having a partnership by law and on paper? I think a commited relationship is the same. Before I reverted, I was in a "committed" relationship for 5 years. In my experience they are similar, but not the same. I had a typical Western-style relationship where my ex and I lived together, went to the same university, and did things you generally consider reserved for a married couple. All of our friends/family thought we'd get married, we even assumed it would happen at some point. When you live that way, you take marriage for granted. I certainly did. I'm a very honest, monogamous, and committed person. As was/is my ex. However when the tough times came, as they always do in a relationship, we decided that we had other life priorities that were more important than our relationship at the time and we ended it. Now that I'm older, and much more religious inclined, I feel like I have a perspective that a lot of born/raised Muslims don't have. At least the ones with parents who were very active in assuring that their children did not have serious relationships before marriage. I believe now, that if you value marriage as not only commitment to yourself and your spouse, but also to God, you have a lot better chance of having a happy relationship with someone. That is because you have a larger stake in it. It's not something you feel as though you can just walk away from. There are 3 factors (the relationship, the marriage, and God) as opposed to just 1 (the relationship) in a committed non-married relationship. If you'd like to say that you can have a serious(living together, sex, children, etc) relationship with someone w/out being married, I would truly love to see the justification for that in the Quran. I'm not going to do that again (be in a relationship like that), but if I did, I would now do it with the understanding that what I'm doing is counter to what God has requested in each of the three books He gave us. And I'd hope that I was so good in everything else that I did that I still made it into Paradise when I died. peace

I realize not everyone is comfortable or finds it necessary to read the Torah or Gospel, but in supplementing the Quran, there are no other works said to be the Word at the time of their creation. And because the Quran affirms that which came before it, it's probably a good idea to be well-versed in those books which came before, ie, the Torah and Gospel. I believe the Torah, Gospel and the Quran is "One Book of Allah", and we need to use the "Confirming Function" of the Quran and "logic" to decide the truth and the falsehood. One Book! and after all these episodes, Allah then said Today I have perfected your system for you and completed My blessings upon you and I have accepted submission as the system for you 5.3 The revelations are a continuing process. . . it is an episodes and it ended with Muhammad ended! . . not started from Muhammad ! Therefore, they are our brothers and sisters!

The longest chapter is at the beginning and the shortest chapters are at the end. This makes it confusing and hard to understand. You can read and understand AN ABRIDGED KORAN. The words of the Koran are woven back into Mohammed's life. This is the way the Koran unfolded in the first place. It was recorded over the course of Mohammed's life. AN ABRIDGED KORAN recreates the historical order of the Koran of Mohammed's day. The first chapters start with Mohammed's first recitation and the last chapters are those he recited before he died. Mohammed's life gives the Koran clarity, meaning, and order. When the Koran and Mohammed's life are brought together, the Koran becomes a powerful epic story. AN ABRIDGED KORAN is identical to A SIMPLE KORAN except it has all of the repetition removed. For instance, the story of Moses and the Pharaoh is told 39 times. In AN ABRIDGED KORAN the story is told only once. Read AN ABRIDGED KORAN. May be, this may help He was created from a fluid (maa), ejected (daafikeen), emerging from between the backbone (sulb) and the ribs/breastbone (taraaib). The two most controversial verses about creation is certainly found in Chapter At-Tariq verses 6 and 7, the favorite verses of the critics of the Quran who have found there their ultimate proof that Quran should be debunked as it bears a ?proved? scientifically incorrect verse. Just do a google search on that topic and hundreds of pages will open up. On the one hand, staunch opponents? arguments are clear and easily comprehensible. On the other hand, muslims are trying to refute (very badly) by all means through linguistic acrobatics about the real meaning of the words ?sulb? and ?taraaib?. Some gave scientific explanations, with schematic drawings as support, that sperm or rather what produces sperm, the testes, originally come, during our foetal development, from the abdomen. These arguments can?t convince anyone except themselves. The discomfort is more than palpable. Let us analyse the two verses especially the key words. Maa Is usually used for water but the word can also be used for other fluids especially a nourishing fluid. The Quran uses it both ways even if, most of the time, it refers to ?water descending from the sky? or rain. The word is also used for the pure water of paradise (4715) compared to the scalding fluid like murky oil in Hell (1416, 1829). In 328 the worthless water may refer to semen. It is the context of the verse that gives the meaning. Therefore, most people have understood the maa in 866 as semen, Muslim commentators and their opponents, altogether. Daafikeen Usually translated as gushing or ejected. Sometimes it is translated as emitted which is wrong as the word connotes a movement with force or pressure. Taraaib Used for the chest region where the necklace hangs and has come to mean the breastbone and the adjacent ribs especially the upper ribs. According to some Arabic experts, the word is used mainly for women. In a desperate try to give a sense to these verses, some have tried to attach the word to female genitalia, of course, without proper references. My respected confrere and countryman, Dr. Maurice Bucaille, favored this explanation but seemed very uneasy about it. Soulb Used for the backbone even if the definition of loins has been given. The latter makes a complete non sense in the verse. The two are not even opposite to each other. To speak of a region between loins and breastbone is, as if, we are looking for a country between England and Australia! God does not lack precision. Backbone here makes complete sense. It is now clear that the region formed between backbone and the breastbone and ribs stated here is the thorax and not the abdomen, neither the pelvis nor the scrotum. The problem is that most commentators focus on 867 as they have taken for granted that the fluid mentioned in 866 is semen. Ask any doctor about a gushing fluid emerging between backbone and breastbone He will tell you that it is certainly blood not semen. Yes, the maa that is ejected every second at each systolic contraction of the left ventricle of the heart emerges right here through the semilunar valves into the aorta and brings a nourishing fluid to all parts of the body, especially to the uterine wall of the mother bearing the decidual membrane which consists the maternal part of the placenta where the embryo will extract all the necessary nutrients for development. Blood is an essential component for creation. Up to now, we have got, after fertilization, the architectural plans ? the DNA- of the future baby but creation does not stop here. Remember 396, creation continues in the womb, creation upon creation. It?s the mother who, through her blood ejected from her heart every second, will bring the necessary nutrients, vitamins, minerals, water and of course oxygen for creation to proceed and by the same way will evacuate all the toxic materials and carbon dioxide from the embryo. Even if, it should be taken more allegorically in the same way as creation from dust, water, clay or sperm, there is no contradiction to science. I find this explanation consistent. The Qur'an it is true repeats things some times but many times where there seems to be a repetition it is no repetition but light on a further aspect of the same question. I think this is a case of that. In difefferent places it refers to different aspects of human creation and the creation is not the mere lo, there was nothing and suddenly there si full human being, no, the Qur'an does say that the creation happens in different stages within the wombs. Peace, There is no explaining language; only re-formulating phrases to suit the new language such as paraphrasing. You cannot translate a language to the word but have to add or delete words to get the correct meaning. That is not explaining the language. And I did not intend to sound arrogant. God bless you

I read the article and saw the responses here. Aqua is only talking about the good that Allah permits. So good music is permitted. Good music means no ill intentions. If a woman is singing and has a pleasant voice plus the lyrics are innocent and good, then there is nothing wrong with it. Even if there is some sicko who pervs on women. Take Shreya Goshal for example, some weird men may find her voice sexy and imagine rude things, but really it's just a sweet feminine voice. I don't know where sexy female voice came from, how can a voice be sexy when someone is singing? In terms of singing, voice is either good or bad. One can only be sexy when they talk hoarsely or seductively. Sexy voice implies that when someone hears it, they imagine doing rude stuff with another person. Of course this can vary amongst people. When no one feels like that then it is not classed as sexy. Usually someone who thinks sexual thoughts of someone else who is not their spouse, is of a bad character. Personally, I've never come across sexy voices, just blatant rude lyrics or implied dirty lyrics. When lyrics are bad, then the music is obviously bad, e.g. Rihanna's Shut up and drive & Rude Boy- Me being innocent had no idea about the double meaning of the lyrics until someone well versed in the RnB music pointed it out to me. As for rude music videos, like bum shaking as Man of Faith puts it, is obviously bad. But Aqua is not saying it's good. Sometimes the beats is good but the video and the words are not. Know what I do? Get the instrumental version and put my own words into it. ;D Aqua's article is talking about the GOOD things. Obviously believers of Allah know what good is and never degrade women into sexual objects.

Except for the saying of Abraham to his father "I will ask forgiveness for you, but I do not possess any power to protect you from GOD." "Our Lord, we have put our trust in You, and we turn to You, and to You is the final destiny." If it is not a good example, it indicates to me an example of what NOT to do. Don't ask for forgiveness for others is my take. Agree, God is against bad names, not nicknames per se. "Abdul" doesn't mean worshiper.. "Aabid" means worshiper. "Abdul" Means "servant of"... Comes from the root word "Abd". even those who work in a house are called "Abd of X", with "X' designated as the owner. So the topic to me is empty, no matter what his name is in the end, the person is the same, and nothing changes, If Hitler's true name was Ghandi, that won't save the life of a single Jew, the story is the same. and the apparntly-new-name whom you are pointing to doesn't contain any negative meaning. Abdul is not one word in Arabic rather it is "Abd" plus "Al" so grammatically word is Al-Kaaba meaning "the Kaaba". Now Abd and Aabid both have same root i.e. ABD which refers to service not worship. Neither Abd nor Aabid mean worshipper. And God knows the best

(3735) In Arabic La Elaha Ella Allah The subject noun of La is elaha, what is the predicate which is elided. Without taking elided or embedded predicate into consideration while translating this beautiful Arabic sentence, the above noted translation is contradictory to the facts on ground. There are variety of elaha people adore.

Peace, Allah, or whatever name you choose to refer to the one source, that made all that you see around you. God is not in any particular direction and it would be difficult to face "Him". I suppose that you can refer to science and that scientists have theories that there was one giant expansion and that the universe keeps expanding as of today. And in the end it will return to the same state as One with a kind of implosion that will draw the whole universe back again like a cycle. God bless you
