Forum Suggestions

The forum clock is out by 17 hours and 10 minutes by my calculation. It ought to be set correctly to accurately reflect the posting times used as reference. Regards.

Peace, A suggestion to add a section for "Directions for Future Research" has been presented by brother ayman in one of his posts. I think it's a good idea to get to know the world around. It can relate to researchs in different fields, not only from the scripture, but also in science, philosophy... Thank you in advance

Salaam Layth We have "Matrimony" and "Marriage and Divorce" Sections. Seems like a waste of space to me. Can we merge these?

Salaams Mods, just a quistion Do you think a topic section for Projects is necessary. I think any projects started could be discussed-and so we see clearly what anybody is accomplishing if anything and who knows there may be help available from memebrs to such projects. Thank you.

Salaams I am about to begin a research degree in Gender Studies, focusing on progressive Muslim groups. It would aid my research - and also provide a forum for debate and discussion on a vital contemporary issue - if Free Minds was to open a gender channel on its forum. What do you folks think? Salam, This is to the forum mods...I've noticed some people use really loud/bright colors and a large font...which is totally uncalled for in many situations...they do it just to get attention. It is awknowledged in all the forums on the net, that posting in capital letters is akin to shouting. Would it not be a good idea to get some sense of uniformity in all our posts, some kind of politeness/etiquette?? and not make it a kaleidoscope of funky colors that firstly blind and then systematically kill off any thoughts you might have had at the moment... Peace As the moved threads can be open from the original section where they were originally posted, the effect is that they are now in two places, like if they were not moved but duplicated. I know they are not, I am refering to the effect. Besides, if they were not available in the first location and we'd have to search for them along the rest of sections, it could probably be helpful to respect the categorization of the forum and to chose the right section at first. Yes, it would involve time to find them, this is the bad of the idea, they even could be lost. It is probably better to keep them like now. Good to see the forum back, and congrats to marie )

I am posting this in the main section to get attention and changes be made! There are too many unnecessery sections on this forum which makes it difficult and very unattractive to jump between them. It takes too much time to go through each of those sections to read/reply to the posts. It is even take time to scroll down to read through the list of sections!!! lol So the easy option is to post in the first forum at the top titled "General Issues". This is the reason why most people just stick to posting in the main forum no matter what the topic is relating to. You need far less yet more wider sections so that members can easily and willingly post in the appropriate sections. If you are going to make so many sections, then these sections should be put in the order of popularity such as General Issues at the top, then Hadith and Sunnah, then Quran Translation/Interpretation etc. Hope something is done about this. What do others think? Give your views.

Peace, Marie brought up making a topic of quran only before the forums crashed. We have the one on hadith topics. Could we not have one on Quran only topics as well? Or did this fall through for some reason?

LOL!!! What am I seeing??? Why has the fist page of the forum been deleted??? shock shock shock Why has the forum been reverted to like a month back in time (April 26th to be precise)???!!!! ? ? ? shock shock shock lol lol

When you move back and forward in the forum, every page refreshes automatically. Why is this so? This has caused problem sometimes when writing a message to be posted. Let's say that I'm writing a message and I accidently click on some link. Now, I want to go back and finish off writing my message so I can post it. But when I go back, guess what?? the message is gone because the page has refreshed. So now I have to type the whole message again. This happens with every page on the forum when moving back and forward. Clicking on a link is another issue, then the page you are going to SHOULD refreshed, but when you click BACK on the explorer, it SHOULD NOT refreshed, but should show the same view as you were seeing when you were there previously. I hope I made this clear, and this can be fixed. Many times, I am posting a message, and click something or the page automatically goes to another page, and when I click BACK, my post is gone, and I have to type again.

hello every1, Just like many teens of my age, I do some "illegal" work too by downloading music 4 free of the internet. i have this cousin of mine, who i call a "saint" who said she won't judge me becoz God says be sure b4 thy judge wink , but she pointed a verse that basically meant don't steal and she defined stealing as anything that has a monetary worth that a person takes without paying for it ........> so to cut short i am stealing music from the web...not only do i steal music, sometimes me and my friends swap expensive software...u know she gives me like macromedia dreamweaver (sells for USD 600 +) and i give her windows xp etc...once again, the point is we are rippin' these big companines by stealing...so before i corrupt my soul any further, tell me should i really stop stealing music and software....? i personally don't see it wrong becoz ppl like britney and michael do bad things with their billions (i know there are more people who get the money that just the performers, but, mainly its them who make the big bucks) so why not download their music free????????? besides most of it is really crappy music....so i am kinda doing 'em a favor by promotion thier songs. as for software, bill gates got so much dough that he won't run outta his money even if he were to shower in $100 bills every day, so why can't i swap xp for free? God does condemn monopolizing the money among the filthy rich people, right? so, why am i a theif????? but i'll stop if free music and free software is gonna cost me God's love and support...

Just a silly question Why didn't God protect the animals by forbidding us to kill/eat them? (because as humans they feel pain too when we slaughter them simply to have a nice meal). cry
