Sure we can look back on that now and say "How Barbaric!" But then again we can look back at most of the customs of any ancient civilization and say the same.
IMHO, since we're talking about a messenger of God, I don't think he would do something against the God's system because of culture. The God's system doesn't change. I don't know of any instance where a "daughter's purity was for a father to give". Please correct me if I'm wrong.peace

Let me take the chance of discussing homosexuality and raise an important subject, first of all I have no problem for the queers to be queers that is between them and their God, on the other hand, me as a father I have a responsibility to my children, one important asspect of this responsibility is to make sure that my children are raised properly without injecting any flaws in their innocent minds, I believe I will be held accountable by God if I misguide my children and decieve them.
While ignoring the fact that the homos sexcual activity is a clear cut case of filth and an act against how the God designed us, what most homos do to our innocent children is beyond belief, they deceive them by lying to make sure they are manipulated as they grow up then support their filthy and doomed act, they only want support in this life, they don't bloody care what may happen after, let me show you clear evidences to how the militant homos deceive our innocent chidlren

BTW kids, the two dogs in the book are Mack and Jack, Mack are thinking of adopting a small doggie but Jack is opposing the idea, Jack prefers to hire Mandy (a female dog) to carry the baby for them, Mandy will take a few bones as a reward.Remember the book "babies everywhere", well sort of the innocent children were not convinced, so the queers are coming form another angel to tackle the problem

So the daughters of Lot were logically then, the women of his nation, and not literally his daughters. it would not surprised me if the original Bible story was changed and misunderstood by the Jewish scholars just as the Quran has been misunderstood on this point also.
As for Homosexuality, the Quran gives a Deen, a Divine System for Mankind, and so this matter must be judged from that point of view. This deserves a scientifical investigation on a psychological and sociological level, and the person's feelings and psyche must be respected and understood. Then the Quranic view can be understood better.

I guess we all have to be careful what kind of books kids are reading these days. Sometimes I'm especially wary of the public education system, which teaches different morals and values in opposition to Islamic values.

The verses which people claim prohibit homosexuality are pretty obscure.
There have been many Scientific, psychological and sociological studies on homosexuality but to no avail.
I?ve heard on the news that children adopted by gay couples end up with the same psychological damage as children from divorced heterosexual couples. The claim was made by the Catholics over the controversies about allowing gay couples to adopt. However there was no mention of how the study was conducted, they just made the claim.

Bull! My gay friends weren't exposed to homosexuality when they were children. They came from hetero families, some from poor conservative rural backgrounds, some from strict military families, some from wealthy liberal families. They all did not have similar childhood experiences and quite a few of them weren't exposed to homosexuality till they were sexually aware, they had never known about it before.
That is how this disease spreads in the first place.
Please show me, prove to me how it's a disease. Because I think that's a homophobic comment right there.
