So the daughters of Lot were logically then, the women of his nation, and not literally his daughters. it would not surprised me if the original Bible story was changed and misunderstood by the Jewish scholars just as the Quran has been misunderstood on this point also.
As for Homosexuality, the Quran gives a Deen, a Divine System for Mankind, and so this matter must be judged from that point of view. This deserves a scientifical investigation on a psychological and sociological level, and the person's feelings and psyche must be respected and understood. Then the Quranic view can be understood better.

I guess we all have to be careful what kind of books kids are reading these days. Sometimes I'm especially wary of the public education system, which teaches different morals and values in opposition to Islamic values.

The verses which people claim prohibit homosexuality are pretty obscure.
There have been many Scientific, psychological and sociological studies on homosexuality but to no avail.
I?ve heard on the news that children adopted by gay couples end up with the same psychological damage as children from divorced heterosexual couples. The claim was made by the Catholics over the controversies about allowing gay couples to adopt. However there was no mention of how the study was conducted, they just made the claim.

Bull! My gay friends weren't exposed to homosexuality when they were children. They came from hetero families, some from poor conservative rural backgrounds, some from strict military families, some from wealthy liberal families. They all did not have similar childhood experiences and quite a few of them weren't exposed to homosexuality till they were sexually aware, they had never known about it before.
That is how this disease spreads in the first place.
Please show me, prove to me how it's a disease. Because I think that's a homophobic comment right there.

Thats your assumption that its own purpose is to be tolerant of gays only. However, i think its more easier to find tolerance of those kinds of people than with gays. Especially with parents and adults such as yourself who are continually spouting hate and condemnation of a whole group of people, that have done nothing evil to you or your family.

I was born in a conservative, Baptist, Military family.... like the "gay disease" would reach me, not to mention that you are a bigot because u bring NO FACTS!
There are many things in this world that can hurt your children, but teaching your children to at least TOLERATE people who have a different belief system is not evil nor too much to ask. Plus it seems you are doing enough polluting your kids with hate and intolerance, maybe your own parenting skills should be questioned. Please go read the Quran and tell me where it is ok to go point out what YOU believe to be a sin, and then treat the people the way you do.

lkPeace Elke, thanks for drawing my attention to that quote. Yup new conspiracy theory right there, the jews are the problem once again.. & It easy to find scapegoats, it's much harder for being a little self critical and reflect on differences of ideas.
What can you say to this, it's their opinion. One thing I can say about Jewish people, they have been at the forefront of human civilization for sometime, some of the greatest findings and ideas of the 20th century, the scientific books we use today can be attributed to their free minds and creative thinking. These are a people who number only 15 million people spread around the globe, yet we owe most of the recent discoveries of humanity to them, so honestly, I really am not surprised that that the authors were Jewish (not that the faith of the author matters). They have come close to extermination in the holocaust, they have risen to win a world of respect for their knowledge and hard work, not through cries, complaints and suicide bombers. I digress, back to the topic, religiously speaking however, I would think that Rabbis and orthodox Jews would not look too kindly of these books, so I doubt it has anything to do with the Jewish faith, from my understanding of Judaism there's a lot of emphasis on the family unit.
Anyways, you wouldn't expect this from a Muslim author would you? He'd have a Fatwa for his arse, decreeing his death faster than you can say "tolerance and acceptance".
Why do people spout so much fear, paranoia and intolerance? The Jews and Homosexuals are like us, we are all children of Adam and Eve, we at least share this kinship of mankind. What people do with their life, what other people's beliefs are, they are not your concern!! If you expect people to be tolerant of your beliefs and faith, you should the very least accord the same tolerance to others, whoever they maybe, Jews, Homosexuals, Klingons.
