Comparing rape to killing is not plausible. In murder, most often than not, there is a perpetrator and a victim. Rape is a severe form of adultery, but it is adultery none the less. The woman is raped against her will, but she was still asking for it, otherwise she would not have been raped. Therefore, justice demands she also suffer the consequences for the rape, which is an abomination against the morality which Allah Taala has enjoined upon humanity

Oh my God, Im beginning to feel that it seems Yusha is playing with us. If that is really true then I guess good job we all have been had. And if it is not true then all I could say is 'What the ****!?!'

That's a disturbing comment! Women don't ask to be raped, rape is involuntary, it's a violation, rape is sex against ones will with physical force to subdue the victim! To say that someone was actually asking for it, asking to be raped, well that's a contradiction of terms, it means its not a violation, its not involuntary, it's not rape then. People who have been raped have no choice in the matter, if you have ever known anyone who has been raped you would know this!!

As a hypothetical example, If tomorrow god forbid, a pervert pinned your mother down, forcibly had sex with her, It would be your mom's fault, because your mom was asking to be raped? Do I understand you correctly???

Oh my God, Im beginning to feel that it seems Yusha is playing with us.

It seems that way does it not? Hard to believe but like Elke said, this type of thinking is pretty prevalent in some places unfortunately. What really annoys me is the way refutations are ignored and countered by flimsy excuses, not to mention unevidenced comments that are quite frankly very disturbing.

The woman is raped against her will, but she was still asking for it, otherwise she would not have been raped. Therefore, justice demands she also suffer the consequences for the rape, which is an abomination against the morality which Allah Taala has enjoined upon humanity

Many have already addressed this. I'm amazed and disgusted.

If you are biologically able to get pregnant and bear a child, then you are not too "young" or "immature", but the way Western society is, 13 and 14 year olds are still treated like "children", whereas in a normal society (i.e. an Islamic society) they should be treated as adults and have the same responsibilities as adults.

I find it hard to believe how anyone can consider them to have the same responsibilities as adults, physical maturity does not equal mental maturity. To make an unevidenced comment that in an "Islamic society" they should be the same as adults is just the same as many other statements coming from the same poster...unevidenced and illogical, not to mention NOT what the quran says.

I can see this is a sensitive topic, and I did not foresee it would cause so much controversy. But what I mean is that in the case of rape, the woman is not being voluntary, yet the fact that she is being raped is due to her being dressed immodestly, or being out in public by herself. In Islam, when a woman is out in public, she is to be accompanied by a non-mahram male, such as her father or brother, or otherwise her husband. Woman should also not be out in public too much.

And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof (2431)

So she should know better, and if she is raped, than in a sense she was "asking for it". Just like if you drive recklessly, though you do not intend to get into an accident, if or when you do, obviously you were "asking for it". So as far as I am concerned, if Islam was the law of the land, rape would not be a problem at all, it would be non-existent.

              Peace bros/sis

To say every rape is asked by a woman is completely wrong and disturbing, I agree with all of you. But there are situations where it all starts by mutual consent but ends with rape. So in such situations both are guilty.

I dont know why Yusha has made such a strange statement. He should clarify his point here.

              peace

Of course, if a woman is in a bikini, even though the guy is supposed to lower his gaze and walk on, she was wrong to "turn him on". This reminds me of the whole women should not pray in front of men because they get turned on... -. A man commited RAPE but that's just mitigating circumstances because the woman is dressed immodestly.

But what I mean is that in the case of rape, the woman is not being voluntary, yet the fact that she is being raped is due to her being dressed immodestly, or being out in public by herself. What if the mahram male is shot by these guys while taking her to the hospital and then she gets raped. Asking for it? Better cage the women up.

While I agree with you but I would add that, some women do seduce others so in such situation the punishment to the rapist could not be the death panelty

infact any man with a view like 'well she should not dress that way if she does not want to be raped' should have his penis chopped off! >

                    Salam Yusha,

Victims of rape range from babies to elderly women, dressed sexily to the very conservative dress code...not to forget male victims..

See from this point of view... Yusha is wearing his ipod and hangs his cell phone on his waist. A robber comes and steals it.. Who's at wrong here? Now, what if Yusha keeps his iPod and cellphone from the public view, a robber comes and steal it.. who's fault here?

The victim is never to be blamed fo a crime commited by someone else.

                      Peace Angel

But your not a woman so I wouldn't expect you to understand.

You're such a diplomat for male to female relations. I guess you'll never understand your man as he'll never understand you. So any of your relationships with someone of the opposite sex will be one based on ignorance of who that person is. I probably will never understand another person's pain in any situation they have, even though the event may be similar, so I'm sure I will not understand what a woman feels when she gives birth, emotionally and physically. I think some things one should except and make the best of the situation. If the child is concieved in a manner that is totally disgusting, I'm not sure if aborting that child is the thing to do because that child is an INDIVIDUAL even though there is alot of dependence on its guardian.

As for abnormal fetus, is it fair on the child?

It is sometimes a complicated issue. I can show you how complicated it can be from personal experience. I am diabetic and I'd rather have not been born due to the fact. It is a disease that runs in families. Do you think it was fair that I was born and now have to live my life constantly checking my blood, and taking insulin? I have a cousin who was born with a muscular problem so he has trouble walking, should he have been killed because of this problem of his? He seems to enjoy life insofar as I am aware. Should I tell him it is not fair that he was born this way? What is not FAIR in my opinion is ignoring the needs of people who have certain NEEDS such as ramps in schools and in the streets for people with wheelchairs, etc. There are all types of movements with disabled people who do not seem to think it unfair that they were born, but rather it is UNFAIR the way they are treated or viewed by outsiders, such as YOURSELF who see their situation of being here as UNFAIR which I think is a total misunderstanding on your part. There is a community of deaf people who lived on a particular island where the language was sign language and the odd man out was the one who could not speak sign language, not the person who could not hear. Should all those people in the deaf community not have been born because it is unfair? To whom? If they do not see it as unfair that they are living here in a world where people generally have all 5 senses to some extent what gives you the right to deem them unfair in being here? The individual should determine if their situation is unfair in my opinion, and they usually do.

                      Joe

a bloke with such a view is disturbing, it reveals something sinister about him, like he can't control himself, and the fact that he has sympathy for people that refuse to control themselves is beyond sick, so basically your just as sick as the rapist. IMO saying that dress code matters is just as bad as saying 'pedophiles are not to blame for their behavior coz kids are so cute'.

rape has nothing to do with how a woman dresses. most rapists are just sick and addicted to raping, it has nothing to do with a dress code.

we live in a world where a man DOESN'T HAVE TO rape a woman because there are women who will willingly have sex with a man, the man doesn't have to try that hard.

but SOME of these women do actually dress in a way to tease men and to attract them and to have sex with them. of course they want certain men but there will always be some sick puppy who will want her and will do anything to get her even if it means to rape her.

A woman can walk round stark naked and man has no right to rape her

Definitely. Any woman can walk around stark naked and noone has the right to sexually assault her just like anyone can leave their wallet full of money on a busy street and noone has the right to pick it up and get away with it. However, I disagree with people who say the victims in both cases are 100% faultless because as far as I know even in a US trial involving a rape case, the first question the lawyer gonna ask is "What kind of dress did you wear when the crime occurred?"

In my personal opinion, I honestly despise women who dress in extremely 'inappropriate' way not because I think they deserve to be sexually abused, but because I can't help to fear that one day a sick mother****ing bastard might sexually assault her and ruin her life forever. This is why I keep telling my teenage sister that she should always dress in a way which makes guys think that she is very pretty but never in a way which makes them think that she is extremely sexy and hot.

                                  Peace,

                                    Do you believe in predestination?

Predestiny is nowhere in the Quran, only an Iblis of nature believes in predestiny so he can move the responsibility ot God

716 Iblis said, "Since You have willed that I go astray, I will lurk in ambush for
                                    them in Your Straight Path.

A true believer knows he has complete free will and decide their own destiny and thus bares the responsibility of their deeds

723 They said, "Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. Unless You forgive
us and have Mercy on us, we will certainly be lost. (Man and woman

who had ascribed his disobedience to the will of God 716)

                                      Dear Yusha,

Your ignorance is again shown perfectly. You know how many women get raped in Muslim countries while wearing Burqa's or Hijabs? Thousands.

It is not the clothes that determine rape, it is the unbalanced psyche of a man who believes he owns women and can thus take them whenever they feel like it. It is not seeing women as beings or equals, but as possesion and objects that causes rape.

In Western society women are portrayed as sex-objects and thus stimulate these wrong acts, in for example many Muslim societies, women are seen as possession, something that is not equal and must serve men, this is the cause for many women to get raped, even by their own husband.

                                        Peace

So Jankren, you're not for the clear heels huh?

I agree, dressing too sexy is not always good. It's better to be naked than dress that way because it does not exude such sexual spice as the standards of being sexy does. Being sexy is when one accentuates something others will find appealing.

For those women who want to go out naked!

Women who spread immorality and lewdness in the society

415 Protection of honor and chastity for men and women, both, is the cornerstone of a virtuous society (1732, 424). If any woman or a group of women spread sexual immorality or lewdness in the society, it is required that the appropriate court takes four honorable and reliable witnesses. If their testimony corroborates with other evidence (1226), confine them to their houses, since immorality is as contagious as good conduct. This confinement would be for an indefinite period, unless such women seek the Way of Allah, such as repentance and amendment, or the singles among them get honorably married.
