Some Quranic Insights

Peace FM,
I would like to share some understandings that could be true or false.
- Why did God create man?
When God created the heavens and the earth, its maintenance required servants. So God assigned Angels for the heavens and the Earth. The Angels of the Earth were called 'Jinn'. After the Jinns had failed to uphold the commandments and started fighting each other God decided to create a creature that will inherit the Earth from the Jinn and that was the human. The heavenly angels opposed it because they thought they will end up like the Jinns and they are more worthy of this position. God created Adam and his spouse. Then God commanded the heavenly angels to support Adam. They all did except for Iblees and his followers so they fell and became 'Jinns' and God's adversaries 'satan'. Adam was then admitted to the Garden of Eden where he will serve God forever and he shall never feel tired or thirsty. One of the commands was not to eat from the Tree. Iblees, out of jealousy, incited Adam to eat from the tree and so he did. When God saw this, He stripped the Garden of Eden and so Adam like Ibless fell. God decided to test Adam and his decendants whether or not they will eat from the tree again ie. disobey his command. If they didn't, they will return to the Garden of Eden from which their parents were evicted from. But if they did, then they will be admitted to the Fire with Iblees and his followers of the Jinns wherein they will abide forever.
salam rami,
i have a question for you, in the quran god talks about pledges he took with certain groups, but he also took a pledge with the prophets as in 381, now we know that the prophets were never together on earth, my question to you when and where was it that he took these pledges were it from the prophets or others..... -

These pledges are taken throughout the ages but the Quran describe it as one pledge due to its similarity and consistency. Thats my understanding. For example each and every israelite prophet were taken the pledge that when the messenger which confirms what they have comes you should believe in him ie. Mohammed. Interestingly the word Mohammed is used in the Hebrew language but very rarely used in Arabic if not at all.

Could you please clarify how and where was the word-name?-Muhammed was used in Hebrew?

In Arabic, Mohammed is almost always a proper name. It became famous in Arabia because of the prophet. In hebrew, it is used as a word which means 'pleasant' or 'desire'. This can be seen throughout the Hebrew scriptures.

But in the Quran Mohammed is a proper name and never a description. This could mean the one who named the prophet was versed in Hebrew and could very well be from Bani-Israel.

Mmmm and that could strongly suggest that Muhammed was in Jerusalem or Jordan..doesn
t it? And what about the Quran saying that hes bearing Bani-Israel the good news that hes sending to them a messenger called"Ahmed"? theres an argument that suggests that the names"Ahmed" and "Muhammed"are derived from the same source "Hamd" which means in arabic"giving thanks" ..Ahmed is a person who thanks God,while Muhammed is a person who thanks god a lot -exaggerative form from ahmed..
What could we make out of this? -

What could we make out of this? Not really there was a strong Jewish presence in Arabia at that time. Bani-Israel were living in Medina. Ahmed/Mohammed is like Israel/Jacob. Ahmed means 'more praiseworthy' and Mohammed means 'made praiseworthy'. Regarding Jerusalem, there is no House there and there is no important trade routes plus God says that it is a safe sanctuary! How is that possible if it was destroyed by Rome 500 years before the prophet.

Who said that Kaaba was safe?
Abd-Allah ibn al-Zubayr,an early Muslim who ruled Mecca for many years between the death of Ali and the consolidation of Ummayad power, is said to have demolished the old Kaaba and rebuilt it to include the hatm, a semi-circular wall now outside the Kaaba. He did so on the basis of a tradition (found in several hadith collections) that the hatm was a remnant of the foundations of the Abrahamic Kaaba, and that Muhammad himself had wished to rebuild so as to include it.
This structure was destroyed (or partially destroyed) in 683, during the war between al-Zubayr and Umayyad forces commanded by Al-Hajjaj bin Yousef. Al-Hajjaj used stone-throwing catapults against the Meccans. This episode has been depicted by many Muslim chroniclers as a black mark against the Ummayad caliph Yazid I, who ordered the campaign against Mecca. Yazid died in 683, the year his forces attacked the Hijaz. The Ummayads under Abdu l-Malik ibn Marwan finally reunited all the former Islamic possessions and ended the long civil war. In 693 he had the remnants of al-Zubayr's Kaaba razed, and rebuilt on the foundations set by the Quraysh. The Kaaba returned to the cube shape it had taken during Muhammad's lifetime.
During the Hajj of 930, the Qarmatians attacked Mecca, defiled the Zamzam Well with the bodies of pilgrims and stole the Black Stone, removing it to the oasis region of Eastern Arabia known as al-As, where it remained until the Umayyad ransomed it back in 952 CE.

Apart from repair work, the basic shape and structure of the Kaaba have not changed since then.[36

Ok but the problem is that Jerusalem is not safe. Actually the temple was grounded twice!! So we have to look into anothe place. Mesopotamia maybe?

Dear Rami, tell me of one place safe on this earth, everywhere we go,we kill and destroy!
I too am still researching, but Jerusalem itself seems like the rightest place, all the derivatives of its hebrew name suggests peace and harmony, yerusha shalom "Legacy of Peace"..Besides,God says there will be rejection and injustice
"They are the ones who rejected and barred you from the Sacred Temple, and barred your donations from reaching their destination. And there had been believing men and women whom you did not know, and you may have hurt them, and on whose account you would have committed a sin unknowingly. God will admit into His mercy whomever He wills. Had they become separated, We would then have punished those of them who rejected with a painful retribution. And he tells Bani-Israel
"If you do good, then it will be good for you, and if you do bad, then so be it. But when the promise of the second time comes, they will make your faces filled with sorrow and they will enter the Temple as they did the first time, and they will strike down all that was raised up.
It feels like a war or victory that enables us to enter the restricted temple-as we did the first time-and that the restricted temple has to do with Bani-Israel whom haven
t even once barred us from going to mecca as they dont care about Mecca..Peace..

Ok, first the verse doesn't say restricted temple but simply temple. The originial temple was not surrounded by Jews but by Pagans. Second, this verse could be talking what Titus did in 66 CE. Third, the Dome was built by Marwan ibn Malik who was way after the prophet. How did the prophet and his followers did Hajj if there is no House?! But yes you could be right. It could be Jerusalem, but there is no shred of evidence that Solomons temple was there!
Peace,
Rami

confused Oh! you
re right, the temple in Bani-Israel verse is just a temple.. Well,I see it this way, that temple is Peace..and if Bani Israel continues aggression, they will defeat themselves in a war.. Temples arent physical places all the time, its the focal point of the heart,if we are defined as muslims, its because we are to make peace, with ourselves and with others...
To me,Hajj is like a big international conference, where all people-not just Muslims-gather and share knowledge...The originial temple was not surrounded by Jews but by Pagans
What makes this a true statement?
You
re right, there was no temple from the time it was demolished by Titus until Abd Al MAlik Ibn Marawan built the dome of Rock-God knows better-but o one said anything about kaaba being only the Dome Of Rock, its the whole area of Temple Mount, which Muslims call "Al-Haram Al-Qudsei Al-Sharif" or the noble sanctuary..
It has equal importance for jews and Muslims,as well as Christians..Jewish Midrash holds that it was from here that the world expanded into its present form, and that this was where God gathered the dust he used to create the first man, Adam. The Torah records that it was here that God chose to rest his Divine Presence..In Islam, the site is revered as the location of Islamic prophet Muhammad's journey to Jerusalem and ascent to heaven..
Note The al-Aqsa Mosque was originally a small prayer house built by the Rashidun caliph Umar, but was rebuilt and expanded by the Ummayad caliph Abd al-Malik and finished by his son al-Walid in 705 CE,named Al-Aqsa only then...which makes me believe theres another interpretation for the Israa and Miraj story, that includes no physical places..Anyways,it`s the temple mount where hajj is to take place, descending from the mount of olives..
I enjoy this conversation with you,Rami, thank you..

Peace Sa'adah,
To me,Hajj is like a big international conference, where all people-not just Muslims-gather and share knowledge...
For me, Hajj is a big feast at God's house where we thanks God for the animals He made for us and feed the needy and the poor.
The originial temple was not surrounded by Jews but by Pagans
What makes this a true statement? There was no temple for the Jews to carry out the temple services.
which makes me believe there
s another interpretation for the Israa and Miraj story, that includes no physical places..There is no Miraj in the Quran. Remember that the Israa was a NIGHT's journey so it wont last more than 12 hours and we dont know who that servant is. The ?sra' is used for Moses with Bani Israel and it was by night 4423. The word 3abd was used for Mohammed 181,251.
Anyways,it`s the temple mount where hajj is to take place, descending from the mount of olives..
Possible.
I enjoy this conversation with you,Rami, thank you..
Thank you.
Peace,
Rami.

Assalaam Alaikum @Rami,
'Muhammadun' in the Quran is NOT a 'proper name', closer to a verbal noun, which may be semantically plural but grammatically singular in reference. (i.e. humans (plural) can embody the character traits of the 'Muhammadun' as a SINGLE individual)
Al-Ahzab Ma kana muhammadun aba ahadin min rijalikum walakin rasoola Allahi wakhatama alnnabiyyeena wakana Allahu bikulli shayin AAaleeman

Peace MTR,
If thats so, there must be a 'the' before it like 'Al-Shaitan' which embodies anyone who oppose God.
Peace,
Rami.
