Abortion and IVF

Go to the subtitle "abortion" of that article.

You're asking me!? I'm the one with the questions P
I guess 6151 applies in the scenario you posed. Killing an unborn human to save the life of the woman they depend on seems just to me.
I am asking you because you are wmpted that abortion at any stage is murder. I want to point out if you believe abortion can be justified in absolute cases, murder of an innocent person is not. Maybe this will make us think of a zygot as not a person.

What about fetuses? A pregnant woman's life can become endangered if she's 5, 6 or 7 months pregnant. Would it be okay for her to have an abortion then?

The verses you've quoted don't really support your opinion. If we pretend like they do, then even dust and sperms must be considered humans (dust and the "tiny drop" are spoken of as things that're outside a woman's womb). The verse I quoted talks about fertilization.
Hmmm you're right. It speaks of the physical creation of the human body but not the soul.
Anyone know anything about when the body is given a soul? -
Is it possible that there's something radically different about an embryos that's conceived inside a woman's body and an embryo that's conceived outside a woman's body? The great reading tells us that humans are created inside their mothers so we must assume that a human being is created right after an egg is fertilized inside a woman or right after an embryo is placed inside a woman, but for that to make sense, there'd have to be differences between embryos that are conceived inside women and embryos that are conceived outside women.
-
Then may God have mercy on their souls poor zygot/fetus!
Isn't there a way to avoid killing a person to save another person's life? Why should the woman be allowed to live instead of the unborn kid? I'm not saying women who need to have their pregnancies terminated should be killed. All I want to know is why their lives should be considered more valuable.

396 ... He creates you in the wombs of your mothers ...
Perhaps there's something special about embryos that're conceived inside women.
Peace
Quran is talking in general terms, not in literal terms.
Not every one is created in their mother's womb.
Surrogacy is an example where a person is created totally outside original mothers womb. (unless according to Quran female providing donor the egg is not the original mother, instead the female carrying the embryo to completed is).

Indeed, as per the quran, the mother of a child is the woman who gave birth to it
582 Those among you who estrange their wives by saying to them ?You are as my mother.? They can never be as their mothers, for their mothers are the women who gave birth to them. Indeed, they are uttering what is strange and a falsehood. And God is Pardoner, Forgiver.
I think this verse gives a woman who gave birth to a child legal claim over that child even if that child was made from another woman's egg.
-
I like 582 a lot because to give a woman legal claim over a child simply because that child was made from her egg is treating people like property, which 582 doesn't do. A woman and the baby she carries for nine months will bond and so it makes more sense to let the woman who carries a child in her to have legal claim over that child since she's likelier to love it.

If you are right (there are no translation glitches) then I am surprise to see that Quran is not giving importance to "genes" when defining who the reak mother is.
When talking about sons, Quran is very clear that dont call your "adopted sons" as sons.

What I have seen is that a child is more likely to love those people who has brought him up from infancy to a grown up stage.
I have seen a lot of adoption cases.
I know a person very well who was adopted and his original parents showed up at his door when he was about 30. He had nothing to say to them. He met them like he would meet any stranger. He could not relate to them at all. They only thing common was his facial features. He saw people who looked like him. They left and he was back in the grove of his normal life....
The real bonding starts after the birth.
I myself is an example. My mother died when I was about 5. I am raised by my step-mother. I have great regard and respect for my step-mother. I do vaguely remember my original mother but that is about it ....

I don't believe the verse gives direct claim to women. In my opinion it give claim as to who the 'biological' mother is, it takes a stance against mockery.
Not all mothers are innately motherly and nurturing and not all love their baby regardless of the pregnancy. You know, lots of women try to kill their baby by trying to miscarry. Also think about surrogate mothers, for many the bond they have with the child is the money it's going to produce.
Bonds form, they're not innate. There may be a bond during pregnancy and maybe the opposite to that effect; a lot of women get depression from pregnancy and loathe the process thus repelling the bond.
Otherwise if such a thing was so innate why is there such a thing as bad mothers? Other people can take on the "mother" role like a step mother, an aunt, grandparent or adopted parent and they could build a bond with the child.
It's a great miracle and a blessing to be a mother; to give birth to a child although, i do not believe it automatically gives the birth mother any superiority. it's about good deeds not processes. Women around the world have babies some don't even feel labour pains, some try to kill during pregnancy some don',. some love it and care for it..
