    No longer a Sunna-rejecter

319 The only System of Life approved by God is Submission. Those who were given the scripture, dissented from it through mutual rivalry and envy, after knowledge had come to them. If anyone rejects God's revelations, then God is Swift in reckoning.

We learn from this verse that all Submission was the only religion advocated by the messengers of God and initially by God, and that Judaism, Christianity, Traditional Islam, etc. are all off-shoots of Submission to God alone.

So Submission to God alone is the ONLY way/sytem of life approved by God - not just the best. As long as we all submit to God alone, then we uphold this one system/way of life.

Also, we learn that we are not to divide up that system/way of life.

4213 He has decreed for you the same system He ordained for Noah, and what We inspired to you, and what We ordained for Abraham, Moses, and Jesus "You shall uphold this system, and do not divide in it." Intolerable for those who have set up partners is what you invite them towards. God chooses to Himself whoever/whomever He wills; He guides to Himself whoever repents.

2135 They said, "Be Jews or Nazarenes so that you may be guided!" Say, "No, rather the creed of Abraham, monotheism; for he was not of those who set up partners."

So Monotheism/Submission to God alone has always been the system of life advocated by God's messengers.

I am no longer a Sunna-rejecter. See 4:59-65, 62:2-4, 3:31, 4:156, 7:157 Messenger teaches and is to be followed and obeyed. Examples of revelation received which is not in the Qur'an: 3:123-126, 33:37, 2:187, 66:3, 62:9.

        Peace,

Religions came about , i think , primarily to make humanity better.
All religions are based on Moral laws- so is a religion a good thing?

        If so which?

        Thanks for sharing your understanding.

In order to continue with this discussion, we need, first of all, to define the word "religion".

For me,, religion is a set of rules that are/were created by few "devilish" people to control and dominate the "sheep" majority, claiming they have authority and special access to the "mysterious" higher power that we call God. Those devilish few immediately counteracted the messengers by creating those religions, to delude people from the right path that the messenger were sent to remind people of. Religions are satan's reaction to the clear message of Allah.
Denouncing religions is the first step towards believing in Allah.

        peace

          Peace,

Of course the Arabic word "deen" has many meanings, one of them would be equivalent to "religion" in English. I gave you my definition/understanding of religion as in "Christianity, Judaism, Islam", not the other meanings of "deen".

                Peace Simple,

You did not tell me what the word "religion" means to you! It would have been nice if you would have written your understanding of the word "religion" in your OP.

So as I said, my understanding of the word "religion" is as in Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, etc.

But let me ask you, if all God's books preach the same concept, and I suppose they do, why on Earth do we have so many religions!?

Religions, all religions, go against Allah even if they frost themselves with morals and noble ideas. Religions as much as they seem to be different from each other, they all share one thing they all call for separation from the "evil" other and incite creating boundaries between fellow humans. The mere fact of using labels Muslim, Christian, Jew, etc.. implies the message of "I am right and you are wrong", "I am good, you are evil" etc.. all the while using their "holy" books as a tool to generate yet more conflict and ... stupidity.

                peace

I voted "Other" simply because I do not see and difference between the basic beliefs of any of those religions mentioned. I am a Christian (not traditional) and I believe almost exactly the same as most "God-alone", "Quran-alone" Muslims. So what is the difference between us?

The fact is that there is no big difference. ALL messengers of God advocated the same system/way of life (call it "religion" if you want to) Submission to God alone ("Islam" in arabic). With "Islam" I dont mean the Sunni, Shia, etc. version, but the God alone version - a universal system/way of life.

You could even acknowledge the Quran as being a divine scripture without changing your basic beliefs.

Do you believe in Muhammed being a prophet?

Does it matter if he does or not?
And I would like to add, even if he does - does he have to change his basic beliefs and practices?

I am no longer a Sunna-rejecter. See 4:59-65, 62:2-4, 3:31, 4:156, 7:157 Messenger teaches and is to be followed and obeyed. Examples of revelation received which is not in the Qur'an: 3:123-126, 33:37, 2:187, 66:3, 62:9.

You may find this surprising, but yes I do. I believe that all the prophets mentioned in the Bible and Quran were prophets of one sort or another. Muhammad was just as much a prophet as Jesus (Yeshua / Isa / whatever name you wish to give him, no one has got his name right in 2000 years.)

                            peace Taj,

My religion is to Endeavour to the cause of God/Life force/Way, something that is bringing about all the positive results in the cosmos and secondly fulfilling my obligations to others.

I think the greatest thing which all religions try to do (Theoretically) is give life the greatest value.

I think this alone outweighs the wrongs that are done by some of the followers of religion as the majority will always uphold this belief.

Otherwise there may be many more Hitler?s in the world then there have been, God forbid.

                                Hi Salim,

I think we aught to use the general dictionary definition of the word religion, as that is how the world understands it rather then the few who may literally define it differently, don't you think.

Secondly all the wrong thing you are attaching to religion are not encouraged in the theory of any religion in any shape or form but are opposed by all mainstream religions- I think.

                                        Peace Simple,

                                        peace Taj,

My religion is to Endeavour to the cause of God/Life force/Way, something that is bringing about all the positive results in the cosmos and secondly fulfilling my obligations to others.

That is strange! Your understanding does not come from the dictionary you want others to stick to! As you preached Salgan (Salim)
                                        Hi Salim,

I think we aught to use the general dictionary definition of the word religion, as that is how the world understands it rather then the few who may literally define it differently, don't you think.
                                        !!!

And here is the quote from the dictionary that you have brought in an earlier post

                                        !!!
Many different meanings for the word "religion".
And your personal understanding is not one of them!

I think the greatest thing which all religions try to do (Theoretically) is give life the greatest value.

                                        Your statement is contradictory.
If what you say is true, why then all religions don't become one? At least for the great and noble purpose they all call for!!?? Isn't this noble cause worthy enough for them to unite under one name!? Isn't the God enough for His believers?

I think this alone outweighs the wrongs that are done by some of the followers of religion as the majority will always uphold this belief.

Please don't throw all the blame on the sheep majority. They only follow what they are told by the "religion's authorities" whether clearly or implied.

Otherwise there may be many more Hitler?s in the world then there have been, God forbid.

Hitler is but one of many. He only got his vast reputation for obvious reasons. Have you been living in a cave!?

                                        peace

Thats been the trouble with religion majority of people stick to dictionary definition and IGNORE what they observe what religion truly is CONTROL by the Few over the many by fear .

You do not need Religion to Believe or to be Responsible for your actions .

                                          Peace Salim

                                          Live long and prosper
