How to read and study The Quran? - new article

My dear abdalquran, this is not logic butplain disconcerting confusion and irrationality.
A book is written in a language. And language has only words which are placed in certain determined patterns to convey an idea. Qur'aan is in Arabic. The peculiar feature of this language is that its words are made from a Root which has specific builit in perception. You wish to go into the skies without even having a launching pad. When you do not know the basic foundation of the language, I fail to comprehend, how would you know Qur'aan?
Lane does not deal with Roots. And I never advocated for Lexicographers or said that what they say is the last word. Just treat all of them as your assistants and consider Qur'aan as the Guide. Learn in the manner as Qur'aan teaches everything including Arabic, its own language.
Begin with "Bisme", a consonant coupled with a vowel prefixed to one of the ten rare nouns of Arabic. Consonant and vowel collectively is preposition and is conjoined to a noun resulting in a prepositional phrase. Do not move forward until you have studied about Arabic preposition and prepositional phrase. Since you have an inquisitive mind, start questioning why the Book has started with a preposition?
Then find the Root of the first word. You will find Qur'aan first introduces the concept what we call "epistemology".
The day we grasp the perception and idea infolded in the Roots we will perfectively perceive the meanings and connotations attached to each and every word made from it while the basic perception will always be present and remain dominant.

Oh good, thank you Mazhar.
Now can you please assist me with this
What is the root of the word 'quran'. Kindly provide evidence FROM THE QURAN how you arrived at your conclusion.

I am sure we can help each other in learning to better understand and comprehend Qur'aan, if we move gradually in proper sequence of Qur'aan. Howere I have studied a little bit of this Root.
Root
Words from this Root in the Grand Qur'aan
a) Total occurrences 88
b) No of constructions 24 -
This is the problem im seeking to illustrate, Mazhar. While you say the root is Q-R-A, some lexicographers say that its Q-R-N. That's fine that they differ but what each individual needs to do is to check it with the Quran itself. The Quran's own ayat must be the arbiter here.
And yes, lets discuss together to reacher a deeper understanding, inshaa Allah.

what I mean to say is when you rely solely on root system to analyse and understand the Quran that surely does not help.Perhaps that is why nowhere have I ever recommended or relied soley on root system. Anyone who bothered to read the link in this very thread would know that.
right, I agree then!
Wakas
Impossible for you perhaps.
Yes, for me, and for any body who tries to follow that method honestly, prove with an example if other wise.

Even though throughout the years I have posted numerous examples here, why not actually read the study at the very site I linked to in this thread.
It is hard to follow your many years record. Just give me a link of a specific example of what i have asked in my last post, and I will try to analyse how is it possible to arrive at that translation or usage of word, which you adapted following the method you mentioned.

But Mr. Wakas, what I mean to say is when you rely solely on root system to analyse and understand the Quran that surely does not help.Qur'aan is composed with Arabic words. And all Arabic Words are derived from a Root, and each Root has a specific perception infolded in it. Anything relied upon other than the Root is just gossip and conjecture.
I think abdalquran has provided a reply that is much much better than I would had, due to my deficiency in English language.
To rely solely on root system for understanding the Quran is not the proper/best way.

Ok Raaajah, I will make it easy for you, see http//www.quran434.com/wife-beating-islam.html scroll down or click on part 1, then carefully read number 13. If you fail to understand it, read it multiple times. It is an excellent example of what I'm talking about.

peace all,
As part of the site Quran434, I have written the following article to accompany it, discussing my methodology. Its aim was to provide a simple and practical approach, coupled with an extensive reference to The Quran's guidance on this issue.
How to read and study The Quran?
http//www.quran434.com/study-method.htmlFeedback/corrections welcome, especially any additional suggestions.
I'd remove the following because the quran tells us how it should be read. Not closed minded opinions of men.
Critical Thinking Lessons
Is my understanding of the verse logical?
If God is the author of The Quran, then it will contain the utmost precision and logic. A firm grasp of this aspect will significantly improve the chances of gaining an accurate understanding.Logic, Rhetoric, Legal Reasoning in the Quran God's arguments (book)
Logical Fallacies informationDoes my understanding conflict with another part of its message?
If so, it must be rejected. This includes specifics and its general principles and limits. Cross-reference becomes a must. Also the topic search is far too small. As compared to Islam City's Quran search.
Did you add the concept of how "propounding the news of divorce" is almost like hitting. Anyone who's been divorced should know what I'm talking about.

Mazhar i think you have a problem of comprehension here
Pl see reply 19 of yours where you quoted me. And also find time to read what abdalquran finally seems to have agreed. And respond to my quotes if you wish to.
My stand on root system is very clear as i have said this
But Mr. Wakas, what I mean to say is when you rely solely on root system to analyse and understand the Quran that surely does not help.
now your stand on the subject is this
Qur'aan is composed with Arabic words. And all Arabic Words are derived from a Root, and each Root has a specific perception infolded in it. Anything relied upon other than the Root is just gossip and conjecture
Now the strongest advocate of root system on this forum, and who has surely done lot of research on the topic has to say this
Perhaps that is why nowhere have I ever recommended or relied soley on root system. Anyone who bothered to read the link in this very thread would know that.
Come on Mazhar be realistic, and then you asked about the root QRN to abdalquran and i mentioned a name Dr.Mingana, so now what?

Mazhar
Read my posts on Root System and rebut them if you have a single plausible reason
.You mean to say rebut this one?
Qur'aan is composed with Arabic words. And all Arabic Words are derived from a Root, and each Root has a specific perception infolded in it. Anything relied upon other than the Root is just gossip and conjecture

Dear would you please let me know that gentleman who thought or said Qur'aan is from RootDr. Mingana to name one.
Without quoting the name of the Book/Theses/Source/Link this is called just throwing a name in the air. I don't think he was/is also a out of mind gentleman to think Qur'aan is from . Please quote some sensible person/lexicon or just go through the Qur'aan and see that could it mean anywhere even near to Qur'aan.

Quran reaches its real Syriac root of qeryn (quryan, QRYN) which refers to 'religious reading'.
I was talking of Dr. Alphonse Mingana
