I am sure we can help each other in learning to better understand and comprehend Qur'aan, if we move gradually in proper sequence of Qur'aan. Howere I have studied a little bit of this Root.

      Root

Words from this Root in the Grand Qur'aan
      a) Total occurrences 88
      b) No of constructions 24

This is the problem im seeking to illustrate, Mazhar. While you say the root is Q-R-A, some lexicographers say that its Q-R-N. That's fine that they differ but what each individual needs to do is to check it with the Quran itself. The Quran's own ayat must be the arbiter here.

And yes, lets discuss together to reacher a deeper understanding, inshaa Allah.

Dear would you please let me know that gentleman who thought or said Qur'aan is from Root

Words from this Root used in Qur;aan are 36 and you can see there that it has nothig to do with reading a book.

what I mean to say is when you rely solely on root system to analyse and understand the Quran that surely does not help.

Perhaps that is why nowhere have I ever recommended or relied soley on root system. Anyone who bothered to read the link in this very thread would know that.

            right, I agree then!

            Wakas

            Impossible for you perhaps.

Yes, for me, and for any body who tries to follow that method honestly, prove with an example if other wise.

            wakas

Even though throughout the years I have posted numerous examples here, why not actually read the study at the very site I linked to in this thread.

It is hard to follow your many years record. Just give me a link of a specific example of what i have asked in my last post, and I will try to analyse how is it possible to arrive at that translation or usage of word, which you adapted following the method you mentioned.

But Mr. Wakas, what I mean to say is when you rely solely on root system to analyse and understand the Quran that surely does not help.

Qur'aan is composed with Arabic words. And all Arabic Words are derived from a Root, and each Root has a specific perception infolded in it. Anything relied upon other than the Root is just gossip and conjecture.

I think abdalquran has provided a reply that is much much better than I would had, due to my deficiency in English language.

To rely solely on root system for understanding the Quran is not the proper/best way.

Ok Raaajah, I will make it easy for you, see http//www.quran434.com/wife-beating-islam.html scroll down or click on part 1, then carefully read number 13. If you fail to understand it, read it multiple times. It is an excellent example of what I'm talking about.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

                          peace all,

As part of the site Quran434, I have written the following article to accompany it, discussing my methodology. Its aim was to provide a simple and practical approach, coupled with an extensive reference to The Quran's guidance on this issue.

How to read and study The Quran?
                          http//www.quran434.com/study-method.html

Feedback/corrections welcome, especially any additional suggestions.

I'd remove the following because the quran tells us how it should be read. Not closed minded opinions of men.

                          Critical Thinking Lessons

Is my understanding of the verse logical?
If God is the author of The Quran, then it will contain the utmost precision and logic. A firm grasp of this aspect will significantly improve the chances of gaining an accurate understanding.

Logic, Rhetoric, Legal Reasoning in the Quran God's arguments (book)
                          Logical Fallacies information

Does my understanding conflict with another part of its message?
If so, it must be rejected. This includes specifics and its general principles and limits. Cross-reference becomes a must.

Also the topic search is far too small. As compared to Islam City's Quran search.

Did you add the concept of how "propounding the news of divorce" is almost like hitting. Anyone who's been divorced should know what I'm talking about.

Mazhar i think you have a problem of comprehension here

Pl see reply 19 of yours where you quoted me. And also find time to read what abdalquran finally seems to have agreed. And respond to my quotes if you wish to.

My stand on root system is very clear as i have said this

But Mr. Wakas, what I mean to say is when you rely solely on root system to analyse and understand the Quran that surely does not help.

now your stand on the subject is this

Qur'aan is composed with Arabic words. And all Arabic Words are derived from a Root, and each Root has a specific perception infolded in it. Anything relied upon other than the Root is just gossip and conjecture

Now the strongest advocate of root system on this forum, and who has surely done lot of research on the topic has to say this

Perhaps that is why nowhere have I ever recommended or relied soley on root system. Anyone who bothered to read the link in this very thread would know that.

Come on Mazhar be realistic, and then you asked about the root QRN to abdalquran and i mentioned a name Dr.Mingana, so now what?

Quran reaches its real Syriac root of qeryn (quryan, QRYN) which refers to 'religious reading'.

                                          Mazhar

I am sure we can help each other in learning to better understand and comprehend Qur'aan, if we move gradually in proper sequence of Qur'aan. Howere I have studied a little bit of this Root.

                                          Root

if i can read it correctly i see a hamza over here

I think there was no hamza in the Classical Arabic of the Koran, correct me if i am wrong. It had to be added so to fit the -later

Hamza is not one of the 28 "full" letters, and owes its existence to historical orthographical inconsistencies in early Islamic times. In the Phoenician and Aramaic alphabets, from which the Arabic alphabet is descended, the glottal stop was expressed by leph, continued by Arabic alif.... To indicate that a glottal stop, and not a mere vowel, was intended, hamza was added diacritically to alif.
