    It bears similarity to what i quoted from S.A.Wadud as well...

    I just wanted to ask you for your source regarding your explanation...

    And Brother, exactly this I wanted to bring to notice. Neither he innovated the meanings nor I have innovated. These are vividly explained in the Ayyat of Qur'aan and Arabic lexicons. Allah is the ONLY ONE Who existed and exists. The word "Praise" has neither existence nor any meanings when there is/was only ONE. Praise is acknowledgement of greatness of One by someone else, another entity of will and decision and intellect who can appreciate and admire the greatness of the One.

      As the Angels did before creation of man

        In short, God was nothing until Muhammed made him worthy of praise!

        This is neither the perception, meanings nor the inference that could be drawn from the word "Hamd".

              No Mazhar it was in referrence to this;

              ""But (AlHamd) is not something like matter having dimensions. It is abstract and can be appreciated intellectually. And (AlHamd)is not something that could exist in isolation. It can emerge only when there is an Object of it and another person of will and intellect to act as doer/subject of performing it. There has to be the Praised One and the Praiser/Admirer when (AlHamd) The Praise, the Admiration will become a reality.

              in other words there was no AlHamd until the one who praises (Ahmad) came to give the Praised ONE (Allah) REALITY.

              Astagfirulla!

              if THAT is not giving Allah a partner in Muhammed then I dont know what is! For GOD'S sake look at what you are doing in order to raise and praise one MAN above anyone in living creation!

                Were not the malaaikah already praising God even before the creation of man? And it was one of their main concern as well when God decided to create man.

                  A simple and straight forward definition and perception of Al Hamd is given. Is that incorrect? Can there be Hamd without there being an admirer who will praise? This is the first point either to be accepted or rejected, rest of the discussion is later part.

                    The angels and everything in creation praises Allah but according to some idol worshippers none of this was real praise until THE Praiser was born apparently born with the name Muhammed rasool Allah.

                    i cant watch this anymore, it's gone beyond sane discussion and what some will do to 'prove' one messenger was the sole reason we have AlHamd seems to know no bounds. Will we have the planets repeating salalahu alaihi wasalam as they fly above us next? I can honestly say Mazhar you have totally surpassed even the great reformer in complete and utter BS.
