    Asalamualaikum,

I realised people here are confused, what is your view of the Quran is it eternal word of Allah or is it Makhluq (created being)?

This question will help me towards understanding your sect.

    It is clear that you are part of the confusion. Let me elaborate that shortly;

    • You generalize (adressing a heteregenic group with terms as 'you people/your sect&#039
    • You are biased (using 'your sect' as a premise)

As for the answer of your question; if you had any knowledge about the sola-scriptura methodology, you would know we come out of a long line of rationalists. The question about the qur'an, has been asked a lot in the past and our predecessors always answered that with that it is created.

Later on, you shia would adopt that position. But it wasn't yours to begin with.

    Have a nice day

      Salam,

If I have no other choice and need to choose at least one sect in order to free myself from all other sects, the least is to be identified as Muslim Atheism, since to be called as just a "Muslim" is very misleading and competitive. confused

Muslim atheism is a theological position in which the belief in religion is rejected or absent but the teachings of the Quran are followed; My Definition

      Peace.

You dont have to confine the definition of your stance on religion, to please others or set yourself apart from people who claim the same denominator.

Define yourself by what you think is correct, and let others find out if it is.

As for the word sect, that is not appropriate. Islam has nothing to do with sectarianism of any kind.

          Salaam,

I think you mean QURANIST atheist.

Atheist can't be a muslim because they don't believe in GOD.

The true interpretation of Sura al-Ikhlas reveals that Allah is not "God", this is acceptable. (read book).

Nor is there to Him any equivalent

Further, it is safe for us to say we don't know what is Allah and focus on our duty in the Qur'an. This is so since the Qur'an is a book about human beings and living creatures. It is a book about us and our duty.

            Peace.

Did the meaning of the word "atheist" change or something? It bluntly means the denial of any sort of higher being or force. You can't follow the Quran and also call yourself an atheist of any sort, can you?

People will always try to divide you up and confine you to sects no matter what you say, it means less work needed for them to actually look into what they're discussing (an attitude way too common in discussions regarding faith these days...admittedly I'm not completely guilt-free of doing this as well, though I try to avoid doing so) since they've put you in a category to focus on. I don't think that will ever change.

                Salam,

                The definition...

                Muslim atheism
                is a theological position
in which the belief in religion is rejected or absent
                but the
teachings of the Qur'an are followed

                facts comparison...

Ibrahim was not a Jew <- Ibrahim has no religion. So as Muhammad. Nonsectarian.
                nor a Christian
but he was (an) upright (man) <- showing great concern for what is right, fair and truthful way
a Muslim <- defined by the above ayat - an upright man - obedience and justly balanced.
and he was not one of the polytheists <- Concern with religious matters - 3030-32
                (367)

                Peace brother.

I guess quranist atheism would be possible, though its a biased term and violates objectivity.

The qur'an, while limiting itself as the sole source of authority in religion, is a book which wasn't meant to limit humans development, it was meant to inspire people to research nature with the help of a sound spiritual guide.

Using the suffix -ist means you adhere to a theological doctrine, while although a doctrine is processed in the text, the qur'an is more than that.

As for atheism, this is biased too. The premise is that there can be no God, while this is unscientific. A 'correct' (unbiased) scientific philosophical stance is agnosticism; most scientists who are irreligious will define themselves as such. Even Richard Dawkins, who prefers to use the term atheist just to avoid this kind of semantic discussions, said in his book 'The God Delusion' and in many interviews that strictly speaking, he is 'an agnostic who tends very much to atheism'.

Be what you want, but be it yourself.

Like the concept of 'atheist Jew'. But a Jew is an ethnic term, not a religious one.

Quran is a religious book. U are walking on thin ice

If you follow the teachings of the quran, then you will follow its most important one

Firstly i did not mention that Arabic was the language of Allah All-Mighty

So you agree that it is created. Talking about our school, the school of Ahlul Bayt, your sect did not exist at ALL throughout history.. rotfl

Unless you imply that you are mutazillite. The Mutazili scholars also relied on ahadith from the Sunni (ie we call 'amma) sources.

Next question, do you believe that our Master Mustafa (sawa) is infallible?

And on another note to give divinity to a created book is shirk and you worship the Quran

QA is not a sect because unlike sects such as Sunni / Shi'a / Ahmadiyya / Ismaili etc, in this pure creed of Abraham, anyone who believes in one God and oneness of God, don't set up partners with God, believe in the Last Day etc have already been muslims, they don't have to pronounce the testimony of faith to become a Muslim.

Sorry i am itching to respond to you, cant help it. How about those who oppressed the Family of the Prophet (sawa) and supported them?

                                    Dangerous grounds.

But the premise that the qur'an states that there is no God, is incorrect, it clearly states otherwise.

                                    But..

It is correct that God can not be described, not even by the word God.

It is correct that any concept you may have about God, is deficient, and thus, wrong.

It is even correct that the non religious, even the atheist, is often nearer to God than many religious people, cause a non-religious person often has a 'clean slate' on this subject and is sceptic and critical, which are very big virtues most religious people dont possess, and even reject.

It is true the qur'an is a guide, but no book of law. You say the book is about us and your duty, no that is a simplification. Before everything, it is about introducing people to the existence of God.

Strictly spoken, we don't know anything, but what we can know, is that there is a God. The standpoint that there is no, is untenable.

Next question, do you believe that our Master Mustafa (sawa) is infallible?

                                      Salam,

All things are created but it is ridiculous to assume that Muhammad can create "makhluq" through his speech (the Qur'an).

Further, why are you making personal assumptions on my behalf?

Is this how you make your point?

                                      Peace

                                        Salam

The Qur'an is not a religious book, and Islam is not a religion.

                                        Peace

Islam is a religion, therefore the book is a religious book.

Islam is a religion, cause its a proclamation of Gods existence.

The quran is a religious book, cause its islams scripture.

Sorry i am itching to respond to you, cant help it. How about those who oppressed the Family of the Prophet (sawa) and supported them?

                                          Your historiography is fictitious.
