    3/5 three sisters (1/5 each) + 2/5 two brothers (1/5 each)
    3/5 three sisters (1/5 each) + 2/5 three brothers (2/15 each)

    2/3 four sisters (1/6 each) + 1/3 one brother
    2/3 four sisters (1/6 each) + 1/3 two brothers (1/6 each)

      peace Nun,

I can change the wording to the following (see changes in bold)

This is only partially true. Shares of inheritance should be stated in a will, and can be done in any way a person chooses however in cases where there is no will or a will leaves leftover wealth/property/etc The Quran has a default system that can be used for such cases . In this default system, a male can receive more than a female sometimes because they have a wider duty of care for maintenance of the family/household .

      This would be satisfactory?

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

Peace Wakas, a bit better although reason for more inheritance cannot be tied to responsibility in different verse.

Likewise females often inherit equally e.g. 1/2 daughter and 1/2 son or even inherit/favored more if 2+ sons, etc.

Perhaps point them to the link on inheritance thread and/or distribution chart example...

It would be nice to have a website that allowed people to input an example and it outputs the inheritance shares. Do you think this could be done?

              Peace Wakas, there are 120 x (2^9) = 61,440 combinations only 3 children and 3 siblings.

              120 x 2 (wife/husband) x 2 (two daughters) x 2 (three daughters) x 2 (two sons) x 2 (three sons) x 2 (two sisters) x 2 (three sisters) x 2 (two brothers) x 2 (three brothers)

Yes calculator is doable although better to teach it to anyone regardless of combination so they can explain it or as my old calculus teacher once said to a student during a test -- it's open book, bring a friend, we'll even give you the answer, and what's most important that one can figure it out for themselves.

                I really like this idea.

its very easy to do as a computer program, God willing, if someone were to draw up a flow chart of the different circumstances etc, i would probably, God willing, be able to program it in some spear time. though i am rarely on my computer.

if i recall correctly the laws on inheritance are 'after paying off all debts and fulfilling all wills' so there is an easy way.. write a will.

i could be misunderstood though, i have not looked into it in detail.

                peace

I am looking for volunteers to translate the misconceptions into other languages, e.g. Arabic, French, etc.

If you have the time and are willing to put in some work, please message me. Thanks.

Please make sure that you always put a disclaimer in with this type of work and make it absolutely clear you are promoting a reformist/Quranist interpretation of Islam, otherwise you unwittingly become an apologist for mainstream Islam.

After reading your works, people (especially non-muslims) think there is nothing wrong with Islam and that all criticism of Islam is islamophobia.

Make it clear that you are indeed a critic of mainstream Islam and that you have been declared kafir by pretty much every prominent Islamic scholar because you reject hadith.

In fact, the title "Misconceptions about Islam" is obscurantism. These are not misconception, this is reality ... it is how 99% practice Islam.

                        peace burhan, all,

I somewhat agree with your take on it, so have incorporated the following statement on the homepage

"Unfortunately, there is often a difference between what Muslims believe/practice and what The Quran actually says."

Probably not as explicit as you'd like, but enough to make people aware there is a difference.

In any case, two more misconceptions have been added, now making the total 50.

the one who reject hadith = kafir according to them...

thats why for s sunni muslim , shia is kaffir and jahanmi
and for shia muslim , sunni is on wrong track...

both mainstream schoolings of islam rejected eachother hadith and on that authroity they declared both of them kaffir... bravo

and intrestingly with in the schooling of both of them there are sub groups rejectinng eachother hadith, self claimed fatwas and considered as kaffir by other group... like

                          wahabi vs sunni
                          deobandi vs wahabi
                          deobanid vs sunni
                          hanfi vs shafi
malki vs humabli i can go with further with that list... anyways...

i did not see any disclaimer/headings on their work and books...

first of all when i ask the first question from all of them , they parrotly repeat the same thing...

becoz you are not following the sunna , so you are kaffir...
what is sunna= they dnt know
what is kaffir = the one who reject sunna... hmm

wakas add another misconception about islam..
declaring kaffir somebody with self proclaimed fatwas... wiwthout knowing the defination of kaffir per God laws
